Back to Defense - Splinterlands Brawl Report

I have been playing aggressively and using flashy lineups in my previous brawls, but today I decided to make a change and opted for a safer approach. Check my battles below for my thoughts on my lineups and how I developed them.

BATTLES

GAME 1

This match began slowly as both of us employed a defensive lineup. However, my KATRELBA GOBSON gradually boosted its stats, aided by the BORN AGAIN ruleset, which further increased its damage and ultimately secured my victory.

GAME 2

With the KEEP YOUR DISTANCE ruleset in play, my strategy revolved around selecting magic monsters while also creating a lineup that could counter such a strategy. This led me to choose IMMORTALIS as my summoner to mitigate magic damage. I aimed for a balanced mix of ranged and magic damage monsters to ensure a well-rounded offensive approach.

Facing an opponent with a heavy reliance on ranged monsters, I engaged in a back-and-forth damage exchange. However, once their monsters were placed in the first position, I gained a crucial advantage, which eventually led to my victory.

GAME 3

I opted for a lineup heavily oriented towards magic damage. To counter the effects of the SUPER SNEAK ruleset, I selected MYLOR CROWLING for his THORNS ability. I also included two monsters with the PROTECT ability to bolster my team's physical defenses.

GAME 5

Given that only range monsters were available in the fifth game, my main goal was to mitigate the enemy's range damage and gradually wear them down. However, the opponent outmaneuvered me by adopting a more defensive strategy, preventing my monsters from breaking through their defenses.

GAME 6

In this particular match, our monsters and summoner choices were exactly the same. Fortunately, the home court advantage played a role in securing my victory.

GAME 7

I opted for a balanced lineup, taking a safer approach by selecting two monsters equipped with the FLYING ability which nullifies the EARTHQUAKE ruleset. Additionally, I chose LORNA SHINE as my summoner to mitigate the effects of the ruleset damage and ultimately secure the victory.

GAME 8

I opted for yet another lineup focused on heavy magic damage, ensuring that it also contained elements to counteract magic-based attacks. Coincidentally, the opponent also chose a heavy magic lineup. With my lineup tailored to counter magic damage, the enemy struggled to break through my defenses.

GAME 9

Similar to the 8th match, I chose another magic damage lineup that simultaneously countered such attacks. The enemy couldn't break through my defenses, and my monsters gradually managed to eliminate the enemy frontlines, steadily securing the win.

AFTERWORDS

Winning a game doesn't always require flashy or risky lineups with unique monsters. Sometimes, playing it safe and adopting a defensive strategy can lead to victory. Opt for a strong lineup that can effectively counter both physical and magical threats. Utilize the ruleset to your advantage, and success is likely to come your way.
