Hi guys, sharing my battle challenge for this week. In my previous blogs, I mentioned that I have a weak DEATH splinter and do not have confidence in using them. That is why I challenge myself and used DEATH splinters.

LORE

Cursed Windeku are nightmarish creatures that live in the deepest and darkest woods. They hunt at night, stalking their prey before attacking with their claws, while their thorn-like horns and natural healing ability provide an excellent defense,. They exude a pungent pheromone that reduces the reaction time of their victims, often allowing the Windeku to begin devouring them before they are dead. While these lifeless creatures may appear animalistic, they are highly intelligent. They have heeded the call put forth by the Lord of Darkness. Their thirst for blood is now focused on the Chaos Legion.

	UP CLOSE & PERSONAL	Only Monsters with Melee attack may be used in battles.

STRATEGY

Since the rulesets are Silence Summoners and Up Close & Personal, this is going to be a pure melee match-up. The first thing that I thought of was picking a monster with Thorns to counter melee, and since the only monster that has Thorns in my deck was Death, I picked a Death splinter. Aside from the Thorns, I picked monsters with the abilities Retaliate and Demorolize to further counter melee monsters. After getting them, I need my own damage dealing monsters that will be able to use their physical damage with this ruleset. Therefore, I went for Sneak monsters.

THADDIUS BROOD	SUMMONER	The main reason I used this summoner is that I need CURSED WINDEKU, and with the ruleset, it doesn't really matter which summoner to use.
CURSED WINDEKU	1	CURSED WINDEKU is the main character, his excellent stats of HP, attack, and speed is incredible, and add his ability Thorns he will be a game-changer in this ruleset.
SAND WORM	2	SAND WORM is the main damage dealer, he will finish off the enemy backline monsters.
UNDEAD BADGER	3	Since, I am going Sneak strategy, I picked UNDEAD BADGER because of its low mana cost and would be compatible with my other monsters..
DISINTEGRATOR	4	I placed DISINTEGRATOR in the fourth position because I think this is the safest position to be in. And this monster should be the last to die because of his ability Demoralize.
SILENT SHA-VI	5	SILENT SHA-VI, one of my sneak monsters that would remove the armor or reduce the health of the enemy, while SANDWORM will finish them off. And I placed him in the fifth position because of his HP. In case my WAR CHAANG died, he can be the second tank for the enemy Sneak monsters.
WAR CHAANG	6	I picked WAR CHAANG because of his ability Retaliate, it is one of the best counters against Sneak monsters, and I placed him in the last position because of this. With his high HP and range damage, he would be an incredible backline tank at the same time has ranged damage.

ENEMY'S LINEUP

The enemy went for fire splinter as expected, and our lineup is evenly matched, we both have the same level of monsters and summoners. This game will really depend on my WAR CHAANG ability Retaliate.

In the first round. We traded damage, my CURSED WINDEUKU ability Thorns is hurting the enemy monsters. However, my UNDEAD BADGER was rendered useless and died in the first round without even landing any hits. In the end, I lost one monster and he did not lose any.

In the second round, the direction of the game changed. My WAR CHAANG had a lucky Retaliate that made his URAEUS lose its armor and at the same time my SAND WORM killed his DISINTEGRATOR.

Since the debuff -1 melee damage was removed. My monster's raw damage was increased, WAR CHAANG Relatiate was used again and the round ended with my SAND WORM killing his URAEUS.

CURSED WINDEKU Thorns killed his FINEAS RAGE and my Sneak monsters killed the rest of his monsters with only losing my CURSED WINDEKU.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

The strategy worked. The abilities Retaliate, Thorns and Demoralize were the game-changer. Without them, I could've lost. I will not change any of my monsters in this lineup and I am very satisfied with the result.

I loved using him. He is one of my favorite monsters in my death splinter. Most of the time when I am using a death splinter, I use him.
