RANGE MONSTERS ON FIRE AND REGRET RULESET - SPLINTERLANDS

Splinterlands battle mage challenge with the HEAVY HITTERS ruleset. While the conventional strategy involves using monsters with the STUN ability to maximize the rule's damage enhancement, I decided to take a different approach in this game. Let's see how the battle unfolded.

Keep Your Distance

Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.

With three rulesets in effect, limiting my choices to MAGIC + RANGE damage monsters, I faced a challenge due to the disadvantage range monsters had with the FIRE REGRET ruleset. My strategy focused on countering magic damage by utilizing monsters with MAGIC REFLECT and amplifying its effect with a monster possessing the AMPLIFY ability. To catch my opponent off-guard, I opted for a combination of both range and magic damage monsters, ensuring that I wouldn't be easily countered by their lineup.

SUMMONER

Tyrus Paladium_lv6.png

TYRUS PALADIUM, is not going to be the best summoner here especially if I am expecting the enemy to go for magic damage but it will help my monsters against physical damage and its the highest level summoner I have in my deck.

TANK

Pelacor Conjurer_lv5_gold.png

PELACOR BANDIT will serve as the primary tank in my lineup. With its FLYING ability, it can evade damage from enemy range monsters, and its MAGIC REFLECT ability will effectively counter any incoming magic damage.

UTILITY MONSTERS

Dax Paragon_lv2.png

DAX PARAGON is going to boost PELACOR CONJURER magic reflect damage because of its ability AMPLIFY and this combo is going to be deadly against magic damage monsters.

Djinn Renova_lv4.png

DAX PARAGON will enhance the magic reflect damage of PELACOR CONJURER with its ability AMPLIFY, making this combination highly potent against magic damage monsters.

Venari Crystalsmith_lv4_gold.png

VERNARI CRYSTALSMITH will serve as the primary support in my lineup, utilizing its ability TANK HEAL to provide healing and prolong the survival of my monsters. This will give my team more time to steadily defeat the enemy.

Supply Runner_lv5.png

SUPPLY RUNNER will ensure that my monsters take their turns first, thanks to its ability SWIFTNESS which increases their speed by 1. This advantage will enable me to eliminate the enemy monsters before they have a chance to act.

Truth be told, the enemy had a better lineup, and my magic damage monsters were effectively countered by their monsters and summoner's abilities. They were unable to deal any significant damage. However, I was prepared for this possibility and had chosen range damage monsters that could bypass and disregard their abilities.

Battle Link Here

ROUND 1

The combination of MAGIC REFLECT and AMPLIFY proved to be highly effective in the first round. This strategy allowed me to eliminate one of the enemy's monsters and inflict damage on all of their remaining monsters. However, I also lost one of my own monsters in the process.

ROUND 2

Similar to the first round, both sides traded damage and lost a single monster. However, I now have the numerical advantage over the enemy.

ROUND 3

The third round was the climax of the game, with the enemy losing another monster while all three of my monsters remained alive.

ROUND 4 & 5

In the final rounds, my monsters were able to take control healing the damage taken by my TRIAGE & TANK HEAL ability while slowly finishing off his PHANTOM SOLDIER

AFTERTHOUGHTS

The HEAVY HITTERS ruleset is highly effective in higher leagues, but due to the limited availability of monsters with the STUN ability, I opted to focus on other rulesets instead. Despite the disadvantage for range damage monsters in this ruleset, it can still be used strategically to gain an advantage. The enemy made a gamble by assuming I would go for a full magic lineup, and that's the reason I emerged victorious in the game.
