The Strength of Range/Magic Damage monsters - Splinterlands Brawl Reports

Here's another Splinterlands Brawl report. Interestingly, most of my battles in this specific brawl didn't involve my favorite melee monsters. However, I encountered numerous new strategies during these matches. I hope you all found these battles insightful and enjoyable, and perhaps even learned a thing or two from them.

BATTLES

GAME 1

The first match featured a fun ruleset where we could only select RANGE damage monsters, and all monsters were granted the BLAST ability. With this in mind, I opted for ILTHAIN due to his excellent RETURN DAMAGE against ranged opponents. I also chose monsters with high Armor and HP to buy time for the return damage to eliminate the enemy monsters. This strategy allowed me to effectively counter the opponents and secure victory in the game.

GAME 2

The rulesets for the first round were quite similar, but this time there was a MAGIC REFLECT rule that restricted the use of magic damage monsters. To counter this, I strategically chose IMMORTALIS as my summoner to negate the RETURN DAMAGE effect. Additionally, I assembled a lineup consisting of magic damage monsters to catch the enemy off guard. Interestingly, the opponent opted for a lineup similar to the one I used in the first game, aiming to counter range damage. However, due to my selection of magic damage monsters, my team was able to overpower and defeat the enemy with ease.

GAME 3

In the third game, I strategically chose my reliable monster QUORA and paired her with MYLOR to effectively counter any potential melee damage from the enemy. As the battle progressed, the THORNS ability of my trusty MYLOR played a pivotal role in securing my victory.

GAME 4

I opted for a balanced lineup, incorporating both magic and physical damage. Additionally, I strategically included a low-cost monster to serve as a tank, capitalizing on the advantages provided by the EQUALIZER ruleset. This strategic choice allowed my tank to withstand enemy attacks, buying precious time for my damage dealers to gradually eliminate the opposing monsters.

GAME 5

In the fifth game, my strategy involved surprising the enemy with the inclusion of two SNEAK monsters. The goal was to swiftly eliminate their weaker backline monsters while relying on my low-cost, rule-boosted monster to hold off the enemy's advances. Unfortunately, my lineup lacked sufficient defensive capabilities, and as a result, my SNEAK monsters didn't have enough time to successfully eliminate the enemy before succumbing to their attacks.

GAME 6

I opted for an aggressive lineup, selecting YODIN as my summoner and including three ranged monsters to maximize his potential. Unfortunately, the high speed of the enemy's DJINN OSHANNUS caused my monsters to miss their shots repeatedly, ultimately leading to my defeat in the game.

GAME 7

This particular game featured a fun ruleset that limited us to using range damage while also implementing the RETURN FIRE rule, where all monsters take damage when it's their turn. To counter this, I chose WAR CHAANG as my monster since it is unaffected by the ruleset. However, the increased HP of my WAR CHAANG also boosted the enemy's HP, and their damage output surpassed mine, ultimately resulting in my defeat in the game.

GAME 8

In the final match, I adopted a defensive approach, countering magic damage with my summoner and placing a strong tank in the first position. However, I failed to consider the TARGET PRACTICE ruleset, which allowed the enemy monsters to bypass my tank and swiftly eliminate my second and third position monsters. Consequently, I suffered a significant loss in the game.

AFTERWORDS

This may not have been my strongest performance in the brawl, but thanks to my incredible guildmates, we managed to secure the rank 1 spot with ease. Having a supportive and friendly guild truly enhances the enjoyment of the game. Despite the challenges I faced during the brawl, I didn't have to worry about being kicked or excluded from the group. Playing games with friends makes the experience much more enjoyable, and I am grateful to be a part of such a great community.
