Scammers are on the loose! Hivers, Gamers and Crypto Nerds, Beware!
☆ HIGH RATE OF SCAM ACTIVITIES
It is no longer news that there is an increased rate of scam activities.
Telegram groups, Discord servers, Medium, and Twitter have become channels where these scammers openly and secretly perpetrate their heinous criminal activities.
They pose as admins or moderators of servers and groups; they create fake groups and servers to attract unsuspecting victims; and they make their advances so convincing that you may not realize you have been duped until it is too late.
BEWARE! BEWARE!! BEWARE!!!
☆ SPLINTERLORDS, BE ON GUARD!
A few hours ago, @dynamicrypto shared a screenshot of two images showing a Telegram group that is named as the "Official Splinterlands Telegram Group." It has about 24,195 members, with 118 members online at the time the screenshot was taken.
According to this so called "Official Splinterlands Telegram Group," Splintershards (SPS) will be migrating to Version 2, and all holders are advised to migrate to the Newer version manually from a website which they provided: https://leadsbridge.best.
Hold on?
How does https://leadsbridge.best relate to https://splinterlands.com?
Well, as you can see, the group is filled with many unsuspecting victims, and many of them believe that this is a genuine group. Hence, they will follow and believe the moderator(s) or admin(s) of the group. The same way my fictional character believed the moderator who scammed him and took control of his account.
The second image seems older because we have 19,893 members and 725 online members at that time. However, in this wonderful image an individual needs guidance as he wishes to provide liquidity for SPS and BNB LP pair.
Do you know what usual accompany such questions?
If you don't know. This is it.
The sender will get private messages from people who will come under the guise of guiding him. But we all know their intention.
SCAM! SCAM!! SCAM!!!
I recommend that the @splinterlands family find a way to report such accounts because they cause more harm than good. With such numbers, they can demarket the game and Splinterlands will lose intending gamers and investors.
☆ PROTECTING ONESELF FROM PHISHING SCAMS
One of the popular scamming methods used to perpetrate this act is the Phishing technique.
A phishing technique involve the creation of a web page that resembles the original page. When the unsuspecting victim inputs his or her passwords, the hacker gets the information in his/her database. With the information, the hacker can get control over the account and change the passwords.
The easiest ways to protect oneself from phishing scams are:
- By avoiding untrusted sites and unverified links.
- Always ensure to check to be sure that the website you are on is accurate. For instance, you may wonder why you are directed to https://leadsbridge.best instead of https://splinterlands.com. What is the relationship?
Ask questions. It is your money.
Always do your own research (DYOR).
Don’t put your private passwords on any site that looks like Hive frontend; verify the site before putting in your passwords.
In the same way, keep your 12 phrases safe if it is a decentralized wallet like Trust Wallet or Metamask.

Peakd.com has the ability to change your master password. Changing your password will change all of your private/public key pairs. You ought to so the scammer isn't able to continue stealing from your wallet.

It's always common to see that many people are being scammed on telegram compared to some other social media sites. I always try to verify things when it comes to telegram because things can happen very quickly without you knowing what even happened.

If someone tells you that leofinance frontend is www.leofinance.xyz, there's nothing stopping you from researching about Leofinance and reading more about them. Certainly, you'll see something Official from their own account. That us what doing your own research can give you.
At all times, take everything cfypto as fake and scam until you confirm that it is original. Hehehe, this has inspired a post that I'll write...
