Share Your Battle - Void Dragon

As Uul waited for the next rift to open and for the assault to begin he grew bored. Reaching for the roiling fumes above, he scooped a generous portion from the sky and toyed with it, morphing the noxious cloud into different shapes. When a fell bat swooped by, he tossed the energy that had grown within the swirling mist at the creature, and the two collided in a fusion of angry hisses. What flew out of the resultant vapours was truly a marvel indeed. A sleek, almost feline body cavorted through the air; with multiple eyes and a peculiar bat-like snout, it was a dragon dissimilar to any that had come before. And it was of his own doing. Uul’s open maw twisted and stretched into what only could be described as a smile, as his new-born phased in and out of existence through the night’s shroud above.

MY LINEUP

Card Image
Debuff
Element
Strategy
-1 Ranged attack and -1 Speed
Dragon
I was sure that the opponent will use Water splinter and full magic attack monsters based on the previous fight and target practice rules. If I choose Death Splinter then I think I will lose because I don't have a Monster that can counter magic attacks like Djinn Muirat. Considering the other options I have, I choose Dragon splinter because I have a Void Dragon that can avoid and reduce the magic damage. Quix has speed debuff and will make harder for enemy Monsters to attack the Void Dragon.

Name

Ability
Strategy
1st
Cursed Windeku
Heal & Thorns
Cursed Windeku lv6 has 3 melee attacks, 3 speeds, and 10 health. Besides his great stats, he also has Thorns and Heal abilities. He is my mainstay and favorite tank in the Death splinter. Hopefully, he could attack and kill the opponent's Monsters while they focus on attacking Void Dragon.
2nd
Chaos Agent
Dodge & Phase
Chaos Agent lv 6 has 3 speeds and 2 health. Since the ruleset is Target Practice then he will become the first target for the opponent's magic attack Monsters. Hopefully, he could avoid and waste some magic attacks from the opponent.
3rd
Carrion Shade
Flying
Carrion Shade lv6 has 1 attack, 3 speeds, and 2 health. He has Flying ability. I put him in the 3rd position to cover Silent Sha-vi and other back-line Monsters if Cursed Windeku is killed.
4th
Silent Sha-vi
Sneak & Cripple
Silent Sha-vi lv 6 has 3 attacks, 5 speeds and 6 health. He also has Sneak and Cripple abilities. He will attack the opponent's monster in the last position.
5th
Void Dragon
Flying, Void, & Phase
Void Dragon lv3 has 1 Magic attack, 5 speeds, and 9 health. He has triple great abilities that are needed in this battle. He will get enrage ability due to the Spreading Fury ruleset by mean his speed will be increased if got hit or damaged by the Opponent's Monster. Hopefully, he could avoid magic attacks as many as he can and give time as much as possible for his allies to attack the opponent's Monsters.
6th
Soul Strangler
-
The last 3 mana, I chose Soul Strangler as I need more damage in my lineup. Soul Strangler lv6 has 3 Ranged attacks, 3 speeds, and 3 health. He will focus on attacking the front line of the opponent's Monsters.

ROUND 1

Untitled design(5).gif

  • The opponent used the Water splinter as predicted.
  • The opponent's lineups are Alric Strombringer lv6 (Summoner), Kelp Initiate lv2 (1st position), Djinn Oshannus lv2 (2nd position), Ruler of the Seas lv3 (3rd position), Ice Pixie lv2 (4th position), Doctor Blight lv3 (5th position ), and Torrent Fiend lv2 in the last position.
  • Round 1 started with buff and debuff process by both team as follows :
Summoner / Monster
Buff

Target
Quix the Devious(S)
-
-1 Ranged attack, -1 Speed
The Opposing Monsters
Alric Stormbringer(S)
+1 Magic attack

Ruler of the Seas(M)
+1 speed to allies
-
The Opposing Monsters
Ruler of the Seas(M)

-1 Magic attack
My Monsters
  • Void Dragon attacked first and targeted Djinn Oshannus but couldn't dealt any damage due to Djinn Oshannes's Void ability.
  • Djinn Oshannus attacked and managed to kill Chaos Agent.
  • Silent Sha-vi attacked and managed to kill Torrent Fiend.
  • Ruler of the Seas attacked and managed to dealt 2 damages to Void Dragon. Ruler of the Seas's attack has a blast effect so Void Dragon's neighbors which are Silent Sha-vi and Soul Strangler got 2 damage each. The attack also activates the Enrage ability of those Monsters and increases their speeds and attacks.
  • Ice Pixie and Doctor Blight tried to attack Void Dragon but missed.

Summary of round 1 :

  • The first round went according to strategy.
  • Void Dragon's speed level increased to 8 so it will be difficult for the opponent to attack him.

ROUND 2

Untitled design(4).gif

  • Djinn Oshannus and Ice Pixie managed to attack Void Dragon and dealt 3 damage while Ruler of the Seas and Doctor Blight's attacks were missed.
  • Cursed Windeku managed to kill Kelp Initiate.

Summary of round 2:

  • The second round went according to the strategy.
  • I could win the battle if Ruler of the Seas's attack still missed in the third round.

ROUND 3

Untitled design(2).gif

  • Void Dragon attacked Ruler of the Seas and dealt 1 damage.
  • Silent Sha-vi managed to kill Ice Pixie.
  • Ruler of the Seas and Doctor Blight's attacks were missed again!
  • Soul Strangler attacked Ruler of the Seas and dealt 3 damage.

Summary of round 3 :

  • The third round went as expected.
  • At the end of round 3, I was superior in terms of the overall number of attacks and health. My Monsters had 10 Melee attacks, 3 Range attacks, 1 Magic attack, and 21 health while the Opponent's Monsters had 10 magic attacks and 11 health.

ROUND 4

Untitled design(6).gif

  • Void Dragon managed to kill Ruler of the Seas at the beginning of round 4.
  • Silent Sha-vi also managed to kill Djinn Oshannus.
  • The Opponent Monsters' speed got reduced by 1 after Lira the Dark died.

Summary of round 4:

  • The next round will be a slowly killing process as the opponent only left Doctor Blight which had 3 magic attacks and 4 health.

ROUND 5

Untitled design(7).gif

  • Void Dragon and Silent Sha-vi took turns attacking Doctor Blight and managed to kill him.

DID MY STRATEGY WORK?

  • Yes, my strategy is working effectively even do the opponent's had strong magic attack Monsters.

  • Void Dragon played a big role and became the key to victory of this battle.

  • The most dangerous of the opponent's Monsters was Ruler of the Seas as he had blast effect on his attack. Luckily, Void Dragon could avoid his attack in the round 2 and round 3.

CONCLUSION

  • Void Dragon is really a great monster. If we paired him with Quix it will create a high chance of missed attack.
  • He can be put in the first, middle, or last positions of our lineup. I tried it already. You can see it on the below battle links.
    VOID DRAGON'S BATTLE #1

    VOID DRAGON'S BATTLE #2
  • The Void Dragon lv3's price is around $32. We need to have Quix lv3 as well and it will cost $172. So the total price will be $204😅.
