Flying Squid : My entry to "Splinterlands Art Contest Week 314!". Digital Art.

Hey, Hey, here's the @lacochinaensalsa!

I hadn't participated for a while, today I had a few extra hours and I decided to create an illustration for this Round 314 of Splinterlands. I looked for some of the cards and chose Flying Squid, but in a humanized version, but at the same time capturing that essence of strength that the original art conveys.

I really like making illustrations with shadows, details and more, it is one of the things that I enjoy and entertain the most. I usually do them in two sessions, so that it does not become an exhausting process due to the time lapse it takes me. But, this time I did it in a single session of 4 hours or so, because honestly I did not know when the contest would close.

Let's quickly see Drawing process:

Resources: Tablet, digitizer pen, and Medibang Paint as a drawing program. I started with a quick, rough sketch, then moved on to a combination of outlining and cleaning. Afterwards, I started a stage of detailing and heavy shadows, and then moved on to coloring. To be honest, for this coloring stage, I took some colors from the original art to capture them in my illustration, using the paint bucket and the long brush.

After that, I went on to do some shadows, work on the background a bit, and decide on some colors for the clothing. Finally, I added some highlights, using the luminosity layer. As for brushes, a smooth round pen was the one I used the most, alternating thicknesses to give a more dynamic feel. Additionally, I used an airbrush, blur, water drop brush, and Gaussian as a helper effect.
