You can't fix stupid: Paying real $$ for (crap) Hive content!

This is the funniest thing that has happened to me in a long while.
So, I was minding my own business (working) when I got a message on the platform I use for my freelancing. A new customer looking for some articles on... Splinterlands! I was like Wow!!! And the guy sends me a link to, obviously, Hive to a lame post by a lame user that had only a handful of similar articles on Splinterland cards. Now, the posts didn't make any money, around $ 0.50 on average. Poorly written and sort of copy/paste basic information on various cards, information that I assume is already available to those that love this game.
The first question that came to mind was why would anyone pay real money for an article that doesn't qualify as good content and clearly has no chance of being upvoted heavily?
I don't know if the customer was the guy owning that account on Hive or it was someone else hoping to score big by copying such lame content. In any case, it clearly wasn't someone getting high rewards on Hive, whales and orcas don't need to use ghost-writers for that, clearly!

Seriously, how lazy is this? You have this platform that allows anyone to make a bit of money if they manage to write a few decent words or post some moderately nice pictures. Do you have to pay someone else to do that for you?
Also, you'd have to get at least $20 on that ghost-written post to make a $2-3 profit. Why go through all that trouble for 2 bucks?
I did ask the customer this question - why would you pay real money for a post that has no chance of earning much on Hive, followed by a quick lecture on how you have to write good content, talk to other users, etc.
He didn't reply and I assume it was a shock to run into someone who is active on Hive and understands what you're trying to do.
It was so absurd I couldn't stop laughing...

I am good enough at my job, but I know my limits and I usually refuse orders on topics that are too niche or too technical for me. This guy didn't even ask whether I knew anything about gaming or this game in particular. I do like all sorts of game, but I never got into the Splinterlands craze, just not my type of game.
I could have written something, sort of decent maybe, but definitely not quality content.
The not so good part is that I laughed so much about this whole incident I couldn't focus on the article I was writing when it happened. Guess I'll just have to work harder tomorrow, but it was worth it!
