The Weekly Explorer's Mark — week of 9 August 2026

Somewhere in Praetoria there is a plot nobody has ever stood on.

There are 142,000+ of them. Most have never been looked at by a person — only counted, priced, and left to work. From today you can go and stand on any of them, and when you do, you can leave something behind.

This post is where those messages live.

What an Explorer's Mark is

Walk to a plot in Praetoria. Write a few lines. Sign it with Keychain.

That message becomes a reply to this post — a real Hive comment, from your own account, in your own name. It records which plot you left it on, and it mentions whoever owns that land, so the owner hears about it wherever they already read Hive.

Then the next person who walks to that plot reads what you wrote.

That is the whole thing. No new inbox, no in-game mail, no database only we can read. The message is on chain the moment you write it, and it belongs to you.

Why weekly

A Hive post earns for seven days and is archived after. Aside from this first one posted Monday, a new container goes up each Sunday. This one covers 9–15 August.

It also gives the world a heartbeat. If you want to know what happened in Praetoria this week, it is one thread.

What to write

Anything. Some suggestions from someone who has been walking it:

  • A note for the landowner. Somebody paid real money for that ground.
  • What you were doing there. Looking for a Castle? Lost?
  • Something in character. #roleplaypraetoria exists for exactly this and is
    entirely optional — nothing in the game requires it.
  • A landmark. "Third Keep from the eastern edge, the one with nine workers."
A note on replying directly

Comments left here by hand are welcome — this is a Hive post and I am not going to tell you not to talk on it. But they will not appear on the map, because a Mark carries the plot it belongs to in its metadata, and that only happens when you leave it from inside the world.

If you want your words to sit on a specific piece of land, walk there.

@amphlux — Had to come and see where it all began, the first scribe, what a landmark of Praetoria! On my way here, I earned these: Landed, First Steps, Pathfinder, Castellan, Wayfarer, Borderer, Surveyor, Wanderer, and The Seven. A bit tired, I'll rest here for a bit before continuing my journey :)
