Splinterlands Art Contest || Water Caller

Greetings everyone, welcome to my blog

Its week 252 of the splinterlands art contest and this is my submission. I've always wanted to draw this card in my style but it always looked complex to me. The colours are amazing, her smile is beautiful, love her carefree and calm attitude.

Process

My idea was to do something entirely different from the original character and also keep some of the colours. I went for a full body pose this time because its been a while I did that. Since she's a water card, my goal was to capture a calm and angelic vibe.

With that in mind I started sketching, it was quite faster than I expected, I guess all that practice is beginning to pay off. I painted her skin and hair first, then went ahead to paint her clothes, jewelry and facial features. Everything looked flat and good at this point, nothing looked off even after flipping my canvas...

For rendering, I painted shadows and highlights on her skin, added more detoal to her clothes, jewelry and hair. I added a bit of glow to hair and skin and chose a background. I spent a lot of time on this one and I really love how it came out, I hope you like it too.
