Exploring the New “The Arena Vanguard” Set – Details on “Buns the Unseen” [ES-EN]

It’s been several days since I posted the details about one of the new cards from the “The Arena Vanguard” set called “Gorm the Vengeful,” but before that post, I had also published an analysis of the cards (Jolius Blasy and Ratbound Corsair), though the latter wasn’t as detailed—in the sense that it didn’t cover the cards’ stats and abilities in broad terms—it would still be worth checking out and reading, because they’re worth seeing, especially since these cards are inspired by Splinterlands content creators. And even though it’s a little different from what I do here with you all, the truth is that their work is also really good and awesome.
On the other hand, the time has come to analyze and/or go into detail about the card called “Buns the Unseen,” which I was asked to analyze, and honestly, this card has really surprised me because, at first glance, it’s incredible, but I won’t give you any spoilers about it—at least not until we get into the details of this post. So, if you want to know everything about this card—details, stats, abilities, and why it could be one of the most powerful cards in this set—you’ll have to read this post all the way through, mainly because this is educational content for everyone who wants to learn about the game.

All About “Buns the Unseen”
As we can see in the image, this card’s design is quite playful—I mean, it looks like an explorer. However, he’s not just any explorer, since he’s wearing a kind of armor that blends in with “Buns’” outfit. In fact, when we look at his stats, we’ll realize why he has such good defense. On the other hand, he carries a double-barreled spear that looks quite sharp and dangerous, and we can clearly see that this is the source of his melee attack. I really like his design—it’s cheerful, fresh, and fits perfectly with what the character represents and conveys.

Statistics for “Buns the Unseen”
Mana Cost: This is a high-octane card. What I mean is that, given its mana cost of 11, the idea is to focus on using it only in battles where the amount of mana we can use is quite high. If we use it in battles where the mana cost is less than 30, we’d be losing a large part of the combo strategy we could execute.
Attack Power: This card has only 2 melee attack points, which seems a little low to me for the amount of mana it costs; however, the card serves another purpose on the battlefield, but we’ll see that when I discuss its abilities, since that’s where we’ll be able to understand it a little better.
Shield and Health: This is one of the card’s strengths, since it has +8 shield points and 6 health points at its maximum level, which means it’s a card that defends very well. That’s why the best situations to play it are those where we can make the most of its shield and health points—not so much its offense, since it isn’t very high, although it does have some and can be used to contribute to the “Tank’s” damage.
Speed: This is one of the card’s most important stats; it has +3 speed points. It’s not that fast, but it’s not slow either, so from my perspective—and based on how I select cards—it’s quite suitable for its intended role on the field, especially since we already know its stats lean more toward “Defense.”
Detailed Abilities of “Buns the Unseen”
Reach: This is an “Offensive” physical ability, which gives our card the ability to attack from the second position on the field. This means that, in most battle conditions we face, its ideal position will be the second position—it cannot be any other position if we want to get the most out of the card.
Void Armor: This is a very useful ability when it comes to defense; however, it’s not meant to defend against just any type of attack—rather, this shield specializes in withstanding “magical” attacks, which usually target health points directly. From this, we can infer that one of the best scenarios for using it is when we’re highly likely to face an opponent who uses magical attacks.
Silence: This last ability greatly reinforces the previous one, since “Silence” reduces magical attack by +1 point. This means that, in addition to having a special shield against magical attacks—which confirms the previous point—the ideal scenario is when we’re certain that the opponent will launch a magical attack.
Analysis of How to Use “Buns the Unseen” on the Battlefield
I’ve already mentioned this throughout the post; in fact, if you pay attention to its stats and abilities, we can determine that the use of this card and its effectiveness on the battlefield—which is what we should always aim for when playing a card in a certain position—is that it fulfills its function, because there’s something I haven’t mentioned yet: and that is that this card is “Neutral,” so it can be combined with any element—not to mention that it can be combined with the “Bloodline” of the “Humans.”
With all of this in mind, usage should focus on the following:
Magical Conditions: As I mentioned earlier, ideally we should use these cards in situations where magical attacks are present, mainly so that the “Void Armor” and “Silence” abilities can take effect.
We mustn't leave him alone: To help this card last much longer on the battlefield, we could support him with regeneration abilities like “Repair” and “Triage.” This would give him incredible durability, increasing our chances of winning the battle.
Final Thoughts
I hope this analysis has been as thorough as possible. So far, it’s one of my favorite cards, although there are a few things that prevent us from using it in a general sense—especially its mana cost. Its “neutrality” is quite good and makes it useful in a variety of situations.

Ya hace varios días que publique el detalle sobre una de las nuevas cartas del SET “The Arena Vanguard” llamada “Gorm the Vengeful”, sin embargo antes de ese post también había publicado un análisis sobre las cartas (Jolius Blasy y Ratbound Corsair), aunque ese último que mencione no fue tan detallado en el sentido que no abarque a groso modo las estadísticas y habilidades de las cartas, también sería bueno que lo vieran y leyeran, porque merecen la pena ser vistas, en especial porque estas cartas están inspiradas en creadores de contenido de Splinterlands y aunque es un poco diferente a lo que yo hago aquí con ustedes, la realidad es que también su trabajo es super bueno y genial.
Por otro lado, ha llegado el momento de analizar y/o detallar la carta llamada “Buns the Unseen”, la cual me dijeron que analizara, y la verdad es que me he llevado una sorpresa con esta carta porque, a simple vista esta increíble, pero, no les daré spoilers sobre ella, al menos no hasta que estemos en el desarrollo de este post, por lo que, si quieres saber todo acerca de esta carta, detalles, estadísticas, habilidades y porque podría ser una de las más poderosas de este SET, tienes que leer hasta el final esta publicación, principalmente porque esto es educación para todos los que quieren aprender del juego.
Por lo que, si aún no has visto los post anteriores, no te preocupes que los dejare aquí al final de esta introducción, por otro lado, si no conoces nada sobre estas cartas, sígueme y mantente atento porque se vienen más cartas.
Todo sobre “Buns the Unseen”
Como podemos ver en la imagen el diseño de esta carta es bastante jovial, me refiero a que parece un explorador, sin embargo, no es cualquier explorador, ya que tiene una especie de armadura que se mezcla con la vestimenta de “Buns”, de hecho, cuando veamos sus estadísticas nos daremos cuenta del porque tienen tan buena defensa, por otro lado, porta una lanza de dos puntas, que parecen bastante afiladas y peligrosas y claramente podemos ver que de allí viene su ataque cuerpo a cuerpo. Me ha gustado mucho su diseño, jovial, fresco y va muy bien con lo que refleja y transmite el personaje.
Aunque esto no es todo, lo mejor esta por venir con sus estadísticas a continuación:
Estadísticas de “Buns the Unseen”
Costo de Mana: Es una carta de alto octanaje, a lo que me refiero es que por sus costo de mana de 11 puntos, la idea es enfocarnos en utilizarlo solo en batallas donde la cantidad de mana que podamos usar sea bastante alta, ya que si lo usamos en batallas donde el costo sea menor a 30 y con esto ya estaríamos perdiendo gran parte de la estrategia de combinación que podríamos ejecutar.
Poder de Ataque:* Esta carta posee tan solo 2 puntos de ataque cuerpo a cuerpo y si me parece un poco bajo para la cantidad de mana, sin embargo, la carta tiene otro propósito en el campo, pero lo veremos cuando este hablando sobre las habilidades porque allí podremos verlo un poco mejor.
Escudo y Vida: Esta es una de las fortalezas de la carta, ya que tiene +8 puntos de escudo y 6 de vida en su nivel máximo, esto quiere decir que es una carta que defiende muy bien, es por eso que el contexto o las condiciones en donde podría ser mejor jugarlo, es en aquellos en donde podamos aprovechar al máximo su escudo y sus puntos de vida, no tanto su ofensiva porque, no es tan alta, aunque la tiene y se puede aprovechar para que se sume al daño del “Tanque”.
Velocidad: Esta es una de las estadísticas mas importante de la carta, tiene +3 puntos de velocidad, no es tan rápido, pero tampoco es lento, por lo que a mi manera de ver las cosas y seleccionar las cartas, esta bastante bien con el propósito que tiene que ver en el campo, y mas si ya sabemos que sus estadísticas se inclinan más hacia la “Defensa”.
Habilidades Detallas de “Buns the Unseen”
Reach: Esta es una habilidad física “Ofensiva”, la cual le otorga a nuestra carta la capacidad de atacar desde la segunda posición en el campo, eso quiere decir que, su posición ideal en la mayoría de las condiciones de batalla que estemos enfrentando, será la 2da posición, no puede ser otra si es que queremos aprovechar al máximo la carta.
Void Armor: Esta es una habilidad muy buena cuando se trata de defensa, sin embargo, no se trata de defender cualquier tipo de ataque, sino que este escudo es especialista en aguantar los ataques “Mágicos” que por lo general van directos a los puntos de vida. Con esto podemos intuir que, uno de los mejores escenarios en donde podemos usarlo en donde nos aseguremos en altas probabilidades que el oponente podría usar ataques mágicos.
Silence: Esta ultima habilidad refuerza mucho la anterior y es que “Silence” disminuye el ataque mágico en +1 punto, esto quiere decir que, ademas de tener un escudo especial en contra de los ataques mágicos, por lo que, confirmando lo anterior, el escenario ideal es cuando estemos seguros de que el ataque mágico por parte del oponente se hará presente.
Analisis de como debemos usar a “Buns the Unseen” en el campo de batalla
Ya lo he mencionado a lo largo del post, de hecho, si prestan atención a sus estadísticas y habilidades, podemos determinar que el uso de esta carta y sus efectividad en el campo de batalla que es lo que debemos buscar siempre al jugar una carta en determinada posición, es que cumplan su función, porque hay algo que no he mencionado, y es que esta carta es del tipo “Neutral”, por lo que puede combinarse con cualquier elemento, sin mencionar que se puede combinar con el “Linaje de Sangre” de los “Humanos”.
Con todo esto claro, el uso debe centrarse en lo siguiente:
Condiciones Mágicas: Ya lo había mencionado, lo ideal es que podamos usar estas cartas en condiciones donde el ataque mágico se haga presente, principalmente para que las habilidades “Void Armor y Silence” se hagan presente.
No debemos dejarlo solo: Para que esta carta puede resistir mucho mas en el campo de batalla, podríamos apoyarlo con habilidades de regeneración como “Repair y Triage”, esto le daría una resistencia increíble que aumentaría las probabilidades de que podamos ganar la batalla.
Consideraciones Finales
Espero que este análisis haya sido lo mas completo posible, hasta ahora es una de las cartas que mas me gustan, aunque tiene algunas cosas que impiden que podamos usarla de forma general, especialmente su cantidad de mana, su “Neutralidad” es bastante buena y útil para usarla en varias ocasiones.

I have only use Buns The Unseen once. That was when I played the pit challenge facing one of the boss fighters, Al the Mountain. The arena vanguard cards were made available and I choose It, because of its high shield armor and the void armor ability. Immediately my sparks accumulation gets to 30k,it would be my first buy among the vanguard cards released. Thank you 🙏 for the update.
