Ideas for Revitalizing Market Activity and the Economy in Splinterlands' Marketplace and Rental System [ES-EN]

Perhaps what I’m about to explain in this post isn’t exactly a problem that needs immediate attention; in fact, it’s not even a problem per se; I simply want to offer ideas and solutions for certain situations and mechanics in the general market and the rental market. Although, as I said, there are no current issues, there’s plenty of room for improvement, which would benefit many players using certain mechanics—regardless of the type of cards you have or the deck you’re currently focusing on.
In fact, these improvements could enhance the flow of money surrounding the game—perhaps not a significant impact, but the whole point of playing these kinds of games is to earn good rewards. Because, yes, we can have fun, but the reality is that, in addition to that, 60% of us are looking to generate income—though I’d say it’s actually much more than that. So, if “Splinterlands” wants to attract the attention of potential investors and/or players, the APR rewards from the ways we can earn income—the rental market, for example—must exceed the returns available outside this ecosystem.
I think this is one of the best ways to focus attention in the cryptocurrency ecosystem on a specific point—that’s what draws people in; I’ve seen it happen hundreds of times. So, to help put this into perspective, I want to share these ideas, though I think it will be a two-part series because there’s so much I want to tell you about this.

The Weaknesses and Challenges of the Current Market

Okay, to discuss these ideas, we first need to look at the problem—and here’s how I see it: these issues prevent us from retaining new users, which in turn affects the flow of capital and the economy. Remember what I mentioned earlier: if we want to attract attention from outside, we need good flow—volume over yield. So, these are areas we can work on.

Now that we've cleared all that up, let's move on to explaining the problems:
Liquidity and Stagnation of Older Sets: As I’ve mentioned in many posts where I’ve addressed this same topic, older editions like “Alpha, Beta, and Untamed” have a much higher collector’s value than what we see in more recent sets. In addition, they’re very useful, as they provide a much higher production point (PP) multiplier on lands—though, of course, we must also mention the bonus these cards provide in “Ranked” matches. Even with all this and despite their high market value, trading volume is practically nonexistent; there’s no activity, so there’s no interest—something that clearly needs to change.
Fragmentation and Inefficient Arbitrage: Sometimes, synchronizations in third-party APIs may experience delays that prevent them from working perfectly, which could cause buy and sell prices to vary. Although I honestly don't think this actually happens these days, if it is happening, it might be worth pointing out. Please comment only if you've seen this happen.
Lack of Analysis Tools: Although there are incredible data sources and platforms that show us another side of buying and/or selling—third-party platforms, many of the best of which, such as “Splintercards,” have stopped updating their market tools that were once very useful—the game’s native interface offers very little statistical information, there is no information on internal price charts or historical buy and sell volumes—something that should be public for everyone to see so we can capture attention—as well as estimates or information about the current “metagame” so that users can make even more informed purchases.
IMPORTANT: Given these issues, we can see that the Splinterlands market has plenty of room for improvement in terms of the user experience, not to mention the data and information it can provide to enhance the player experience. On the other hand, it’s worth emphasizing that, as I mentioned, the focus is on attracting attention and providing liquidity and volume to older cards, primarily in tandem with the newer sets.

Suggestions for Improvement in the “Letters” Market

Here I’ll just share the proposals; I won’t go into the implementation details, which I might be able to explain or apply using AI, but I could create a separate post about that project. For now, though, you can think of these as informal ideas or proposals. So, with that clarified, let’s move on to the proposals: Although I won’t discuss the specific proposal for old cards—because I think they deserve a full post all to themselves—these are proposals related to the card market, which I’ll cover in future posts.

Suggestions for Improvement
Integrated “Price History” System with Advanced Charts: Something I consider extremely important right now is redesigning the market. The idea here is to integrate interactive charts for the charts—preferably using Japanese candlesticks—and to display transaction volume broken down by the time period in which they occurred, such as 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days. This, of course, should be done for each chart and according to its combination level, since they differ. On the other hand, an interesting feature would be the ability to view what’s called the “Low Price Gap,” which acts as a sort of alert when an asset (chart) falls below its value or moving average, signaling the potential for significant price movements and allowing users to view the available offers.
Sinergias' Smart Recommendation Engine and the Meta Game: One thing that’s very confusing for new users is that it gets a bit overwhelming at the start, and even as the game progresses—even after you’ve been playing for a while—it’s difficult to interact with all the cards and abilities. Because of this, players have to resort to researching combinations and such, which I’ve already demonstrated, but ideally—or at the very least—it would be interesting to integrate a system that provides smart recommendations. For example, if you’re looking for a unit with “Bloodline Dominion,” it should automatically suggest and group the best card options related to that same bloodline.
Fractional Purchase Mechanism and Formatted Themed Decks: One interesting feature that would be very helpful to users would be to implement “Themed Decks” that are verified directly by the DAO or by algorithms trained specifically to analyze the METAGAME. These would be decks built specifically for certain leagues, but that demonstrate a certain percentage of effectiveness in-game or in battles—like a kind of “backtesting” for battles—to calculate how many battles you could win.

Final Thoughts

I think I’ll leave it at that for now, because there’s a lot of information here. In fact, I have much more information I could share for the rest of the week, so get ready for a week of market-related ideas and/or recommendations and many other things that might be interesting to build. In fact, I’ll probably go ahead and build one using AI, so stay tuned.
See you on the "Battlefield"
