Want to build an “Arcana Conclave” deck? Start with these cards (Common - Part 1) [ES-EN]

Let’s start the week off strong. In my last post, I talked about “Diversification and Specialization,” where each of the two types of players (F2P and Whales) must make a decision to manage their resources correctly without wasting anything. In both cases, the goal is the same: to build a deck. To do that, you need to buy cards, and we can all agree that it’s best to focus on the “Modern Format” sets, since they’re part of the current META. However, you can’t just pick any card, nor can you choose from both sets—you have to focus on one specific set.

When I say this, in my opinion, it’s a mistake to focus on buying cards from the “Rebellion” set, because it’s the next set to move to “Wild Format.” Plus, “Arcana Conclave” might already be close to being a year old—I’m not entirely sure— but the team is surely already working behind the scenes on a new main set, so the focus should be on the “Arcane Conclave” and “Escalation” sets. However, you shouldn’t just pick any card, which is why in this post I’ll recommend the best “Common” cards from those sets so you can start building with the best ones.

So you can think of this post as part of the series of posts I’ve written about player types, F2P players, investors, the recent post on “Diversification and Specialization,” and, ultimately, this one, where I begin offering recommendations for building a well-balanced and competitive deck.

These are the "Key" common-rarity cards in "Arcana Conclave" that you should prioritize

There are about 40 “Common” cards in Arcane Conclave; however, there are a few that I would prioritize over the rest, since they have a lot to offer on the battlefield in many different ways. Of course, I won’t explain each of these cards in detail here—I’ll just give a brief description of why I think they stand out from the rest. but you’ll be able to see why they have the potential to make a big difference in a battle—and that’s what matters.

Of course, you’re completely free to disagree with my choices, but I firmly believe this is the path you should take—whether you’re an F2P player or someone who spends money—these are the cards I would definitely buy to progress the right way and build the strongest, most balanced deck possible in the game.

What are the best “Common” cards in Arcana Conclave?

  • Caravan Guard: This is the first common-rarity card I recommend, as it offers excellent versatility and support—not to mention that its low mana cost of 3 points allows you to play it in any battle situation, though it works best when the mana cost to summon your units is lower. On top of that, its stats are very solid: it has high attack power and a good amount of health to bolster its defense, so it won’t be defeated easily. But without a doubt, the crown jewel of this card is its “Abilities,” since it not only reduces the attack of “Rank” but is also capable of healing the most damaged ally on our team—twice over, thanks to the “Echo” ability.

  • Cavewise Wayfinder: This card is undoubtedly a must-have; you only have to look at its stats to see the impact it could have on the battlefield—not only with its Fire Splinter ability, but also with its “Bloodline”—since summoning it only requires about 6 mana points, which is quite accessible, plus his attack is very high, as are his health, shield, and speed. To me, he’s very strong for his rarity, but that’s not the best part—his abilities allow him to be an offensive weapon even before the battle begins, and if he takes damage, his attack power and speed increase. He does have a “Weakness,” but it’s nothing that can’t be managed with other allied abilities.

These are the “Letters” to prioritize in the “Escalation” SET

The “Escalation” SET is another release under the “Conclave Arcana” umbrella that can also work very well, since it’s one of the most recent ones; in fact, it’s the latest one, and it will be a while before it’s unfortunately demoted to “Wild Format.” That’s why it’s a good candidate to consider for picking up some strong cards—which are indeed quite powerful—though, as I’ve said before, we need to be selective. If we want a truly strong and balanced deck, we can’t just buy cards at random; we need to be clear from the start about which ones will be useful, so let’s take a look at the cards from “Escalation.”

What are the best “Common” cards in Escalation?

  • Doomshield Warden: This is a high-octane card—though the vast majority of “Escalation” cards are like that—what I mean is that it has a high mana cost. In fact, this card costs 14 mana to summon, which means we can only play it in those very high-cost battles. Even so, looking at its stats, they’re excellent—it’s a truly powerful card on both sides, whether attacking or defending. As always, though, its abilities make it even stronger: it grants “Reach” if it’s in the first position, can defend against magical damage, and won’t miss any physical attacks. So, it’s an absolute beast that we need in our deck.

  • Shire Knacker: Here, I could have also chosen the card called “Ballista Deadshot,” but I wanted to balance things out a bit in terms of mana cost, since this card costs only 5 mana—which is very affordable—yet its stats are good and align well with what it has to offer. In short, it can both attack and defend. However, what I really like are its abilities: it focuses on attacking cards that attack from a distance or simply lack an attack ability, prevents its allies from tiring—which is quite useful—and additionally removes 2 shield points if it manages to hit the opponent with an attack.

Final Thoughts

I could have included a few more, but I didn't want to make this post too long. Still, in the next one I'll summarize it even further, because we still have “Common” cards that are very useful—though here I've listed the ones I consider the strongest among the “Commons.” There are a few more, but I’ll try to complete the entire list of “Common” cards in an upcoming post so we can move on to the next rarities, where we also have some very good cards.

So tell me, have you tried these cards? Do you think they're strong? Have you considered adding them to your deck? If not, let me know which other cards you like in the comments.

See you on the "Battlefield"

That letter is incredible, it's one of my favorites and, for being a regular letter, it has everything, there are few as good as that one.
