This is a type of card game that combines the strategic deck building with elements of trading cards that were introduced by Magic: The Gathering in the 90s.
A player may begin playing using starter cards, and improves the collection by purchasing and opening packs or buying cards from other players. Some games from this genre only offer the option to play or earn rewards if you purchase packs or a certain one-time purchase.
