Yes, you know it. It's the time of day when Splinterlands season end, when everybody is happy with the tons of reward except me... I got some bulls*** rewards for this season.

So I guess it's the perfect time to review if my investment of time and money in Splinterlands is profitable and once and for all to review if Splinterlands is legit Play2Earn.

1st Step: Check Current Collection Value

So let's start by checking the value of my collection. If you're new to Splinterlands, you should definitely join Splinterlands Discord. There is so much info and so many kind players there ready to help you if you have any questions. But most importantly you could check your value by going to #sm-voters_hut and typing "$stat" followed by your profile name to check the current value of your collection. As you see below, my collection after this season end is $446.44 but it will fluctuate according to the card market.

2nd Step: Tracking my investment in Splinterlands

For this, I like to go to my trusty Google Spreadsheet which I have tracked every purchase or investment I made in every of my Crypto portfolio. From the screenshot below you could see that I invested around $102 and the total current value of all my assets in Splinterlands; card collection, DEC, SPS token is around $604. That's about 500% ROI in 6 months y'all!!

3rd Step: Review if Splinterlands is truly Play2Earn

From a pure monetary perspective, 500% ROI is just pure amazingness that even beat my Crypto portfolio which only gave me 300% from the bull market lately.

However, not everything can be just measured from ROI of your asset, you still have to factor in the time invested in this game. I am happy to say that playing Splinterlands doesn't really cost me a lot of my time. My time playing Splinterlands is the most fun I have had after Mobile Legends, my favorite MOBA so far now. So I will say time invested in Splinterlands is negligible.
