The Spliterlands ecosystem is constantly expanding and evolving.
because:

• by August 1, 2023, the playable version of Splinterlands Tower Defense is scheduled to be released: Soulkeep
  

• two days ago, the Closed Beta playable version of the NFT-based tactical and strategic PvP play to earn game with a soccer theme was released: Genesis League Goals
  

I invested in both projects in the pre-sales stages and purchased:

• 167 Nightmare packs = 167 Soulkeep packs.
• 110 GMLSPA packs = 110 Genesis League Goals packs + 550 Scout Passes

Thanks to the purchase of 110 GMLSPA packs I met the requirements to try the Closed Beta version of Genesis League Goals because the requirement was a purchase of at least 100 GMLSPA packs.
Today I share my experience testing and playing the closed beta version of Genesis League Goals.

My Closed Beta Gaming Experience

Playing my first game on Genesis League Goals was very easy because the development team created three useful guides that you can read by clicking on the following links:

• Team Management in Genesis League Goals
• How to Create a Team in Genesis League Goals
• GLG Game Layout Overview

To create my team I performed the following steps:

• On the Home Page of Genesis League Goals I clicked on COLLECTION
• then I clicked on TEAMS

On the next screen I clicked on CLAIM YOUR TEAMS and then clicked on CONFIRM within the Hive Keychain screen.

In the next screen I read the helpful guidelines and then clicked on CREATE YOUR TEAM

For the time being, it is possible to create two teams per account, but in the future it may also be possible to purchase additional teams.

In the next screen I chose my team name and then clicked ADD A COACH.

As a name I chose HIVENTUS because I wanted to combine my passion for Hive with the name of my favorite soccer team which is Juventus.

On the next screen I chose the Coach of my Hiventus from the Coach-type NFTs I found inside the 100 packs of cards I opened on June 10, 2023.

To choose team members simply click on the image of the NFT, which after selection is displayed in gray and is placed in the box at the bottom.
Once the selection is made, it is necessary to click on NEXT in the upper right corner.

In the next four screens I selected the Starting Lineup of my team**:

• 1 goalkeeper
• 2 defenders
• 2 midfielders
• 2 forwards

For the time being it is not possible to combine and level cards but this will be an option available in the future as it will also be possible in the future to add Skill and Equipments upgrades to cards.

Goalkeepers** and defenders are displayed and sorted according to the Blocking (BL) statistic.
Midfielders** are displayed and sorted according to the Passing (PA) statistic.
The attackers are displayed and sorted according to the Shooting (SH) statistic.

It is always possible to sort NFTs by different statistics such as Dribbling or Tackling.

It's time to introduce you to my full team.

In the following image you can see my Starting Lineup

In the following image you can see my Subs who will only enter the game if the starters have injuries or use up all their energy (Health and Stamina).

In the following image you can see my Reserves who will never enter the game but will still play an important role in giving morale and support to the rest of the team.

After I formed my team, I tried the two available game options:

• Practice (PvE)
• Compete (PvP)

In the following image you can see the initial screen shot of one of my games in the Compete (PvP) mode.

The loading phase was short and took less than 10 seconds while waiting for the opposing player took less than 5 seconds.

During the game, the players are positioned in two vertical rows except for the two goalkeepers who are positioned in the middle of their respective goals.

The time of play, the number of shifts (max 30) and the names of the two players are indicated at the top.

When the ball is in my player's possession a choice bar appears where you can:

• select play actions between:
  • PASS
  • SHOOT
  • DRIBBLE
• view the success probability percentages of each selectable game action.

The time available to make each choice is five seconds.
If after five seconds the player does not make a choice the game action with the highest probability of success is automatically selected, which in the above image is DRIBBLE = 45%.

So it is possible to play a game in two ways:

• passively: by not making choices
• actively: by making a choice between PASS, SHOOT and DRIBBLE.

The game I played against @parris11978, from which I took the screenshots, lasted very little in terms of time, was fun, and ended in a draw.

At this early stage of development, it is not yet possible to make substitutions during the match, so I was not able to test this feature, which when introduced will add one more game option and thus also one more fun and strategy option.

Feedbacks and Final Considerations

The Closed Beta version of Genesis League Goals has only been playable for two days so some bugs and lags are normal and physiological.

In my testing, I did not encounter the funny bug that @eddiespino shared two days ago in his post which was then promptly fixed by the development team but I also found some aspects to be improved.

I tested the game using Brave browser and during the game game choices are partly covered by the application bar.

To display the game choices bar, I moved the Windows taskbar to the right side of the screen.
This is not a major bug but is definitely something that needs improvement.

I created a gif to show a game action that resulted in my tying goal in a game against @louis88.

The moment I perform the shot that results in my goal the screen goes black for a few seconds.

In conclusion my judgment and first impressions of Genesis League Goals are positive:

• the game is easy to play and is immediate to understand
• the game is potentially fun in my opinion and therefore has potential especially considering that there is no such game on Hive and considering that soccer is among the most played and most loved sports in the world.

There are some bugs and lags that will surely be fixed during the Closed Beta testing phase but considering that the Closed Beta version is only two days old it is normal that there are some aspects to improve and the development team is working to improve the game and to fix all the bugs and problems with the animations as you can see from the update announcements posted on the GLG discord server.

I conclude this post of mine with a financial analysis of my investment on Genesis League Goals.

On Genesis League Goals I invested a total of 1115.79 HIVE:

• I invested 1020 HIVE during the presale to purchase 110 packs of cards.

• I spent 95.6 HIVE to purchase 550 Scout Passes.

To calculate the value of my collection of NFTs I used the tool that @pokermaria recommended to me in a comment to a previous post of mine: https://us-central1-gls-api-384314.cloudfunctions.net/CollectionValue?libertycrypto27

My collection of NFTs has an estimated market value of $746.38

In the table below you can see the estimated financial results (Profit and ROI) I have achieved to date from my investment on Genesis League Goals.

Note: My financial analysis is partial because I did not consider the value of the GLX tokens that I got from staking the card packs because it would have taken me a long time to do accurate calculations, so I will do a more in-depth financial analysis in the future when the game is in the Open Beta phase and when the in-game rewards are activated.

Although estimated the financial results I calculated today are really very positive:

• Profit Estimated: 969.07 SWAP.HIVE = $346.93
• ROI Estimated: +86.85%

Regarding GLX tokens I have set an accumulation goal of 50K GLX staked.

Today, July 22, 2023, I have 23645.26 GLX staked in my in-game wallet and am close to 50% of my accumulation goal.

• due giorni fa è stata rilasciata la versione giocabile Closed Beta del gioco tattico e strategico PvP basato su NFT e con il tema del calcio: Genesis League Goals
  

Io ho investito in entrambi i progetti nelle fasi delle prevendite ed ho acquistato:

My Closed Beta Gaming Experience

Giocare la mia prima partita su Genesis League Goals è stato molto semplice perchè il team di sviluppo ha creato tre utili guide che puoi leggere cliccando sui seguenti links:

Per creare la mia squadra ho seguito i seguenti passi:

• Nella Home Page di Genesis League Goals ho cliccato su COLLECTION
• poi ho cliccato su TEAMS

Nella schermata successiva ho cliccato su CLAIM YOUR TEAMS e poi ho cliccato su CONFIRM all'interno della schermata di Hive Keychain.

Nella schermata successiva ho letto le utili indicazioni e poi ho cliccato su CREATE YOUR TEAM

Per il momento è possibile creare due teams per account ma in futuro potrebbe essere possibile anche acquistare teams aggiuntivi.

Nella schermata successiva ho scelto il nome della mia squadra e poi ho cliccato su ADD A COACH.

Come nome ho scelto HIVENTUS perchè ho voluto unire la mia passione per Hive con il nome della mia squadra di calcio preferita che è la Juventus.

Nella schermata successiva ho scelto il Coach della mia Hiventus tra gli NFTs di tipo Coach che ho trovato all'interno dei 100 pacchi di carte che ho aperto il 10 giugno 2023.

Per scegliere i componenti della squadra è sufficiente cliccare sull'immagine dell'NFT che dopo la selezione viene visualizzato in grigio e viene inserito nel riquadro in basso.
Una volta effettuata la selezione è necessario cliccare su NEXT in alto a destra.

I portieri e i difensori sono visualizzati e ordinati in base alla statistica Blocking (BL).
I centrocampisti sono visualizzati e ordinati in base alla statistica Passing (PA)
Gli attaccanti sono visualizzati e ordinati in base alla statistica Shooting (SH)

E' sempre possibile ordinare gli NFTs in base a statistiche diverse come ad esempio Dribbling o Tackling.

E' arrivato il momento di presentarti la mia squadra al completo.

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere i miei Subs che entreranno in partita solo se i titolari avranno infortuni o consumeranno tutta la loro energia (Health e Stamina).

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le mie Reserves che non entreranno mai in partita ma che giocheranno un ruolo comunque importante per dare morale e supporto al resto della squadra.

Dopo che ho formato la mia squadra ho provato le due opzioni di gioco disponibili:

• Practice (PvE)
• Compete (PvP)

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere la schermata iniziale di una mia partita nella modalità Compete (PvP).

La fase di loading è stata breve e ha richiesto meno di 10 secondi mentre l'attesa del giocatore avversario ha richiesto meno di 5 secondi.

Durante la partita i giocatori sono posizionati in due file verticali tranne i due portieri che sono posizionati al centro uno di fronte all'altro.

In alto è indicato il tempo di gioco, il numero dei turni di gioco (max 30) e i nomi dei due giocatori.

Quando la palla è in possesso di un mio giocatore compare una barra di scelta in cui è possibile:

• selezionare le azioni di gioco tra:
  • PASS
  • SHOOT
  • DRIBBLE
• visualizzare le percentuali di probabilità di successo di ogni azione di gioco selezionabile.

Il tempo a disposizione per effettuare ogni scelta è di 5 secondi.
Se dopo cinque secondi il giocatore non effettua la scelta viene selezionata in automatico l'azione di gioco con la maggiore probabilità di successao che nell'immagine precedente è DRIBBLE = 45%.

Quindi è possibile giocare una partita in due modi:

• passivamente: non effettuando scelte
• attivamente: effettuando una scelta tra PASS, SHOOT e DRIBBLE

La partita che ho giocato contro @parris11978, da cui ho preso gli screenshots, è durata molto poco, è stata divertente ed è terminata con un pareggio.

In questa fase iniziale di sviluppo non è ancora possibile effettuare sostituzioni durante il match e quindi non ho potuto provare questa funzionalità che quando sarà introdotta aggiungerà un opzione di gioco in più e quindi anche un opzione di divertimento e strategia in più.

Feedbacks e Considerazioni Finali

La versione Closed Beta di Genesis League Goals è giocabile da solo due giorni e quindi alcuni bugs e lags sono normali e fisiologici.

Nel mio test non ho riscontrato il divertente bug che ha condiviso @eddiespino due giorni fa nel suo post che è stato quindi risolto dal team di sviluppo ma ho trovato anche io degli aspetti da migliorare.

Ho testato il gioco utilizzando Brave browser e durante la partita le scelte di gioco sono in parte coperte dalla barra delle applicazioni.

Per visualizzare la barra delle scelte di gioco ho spostato la barra delle applicazioni sul lato destro dello schermo.
Questo non è un bug importante ma è sicuramente un aspetto da migliorare.

Ho creato una gif per mostrare un'azione di gioco che ha portato al mio gol del pareggio in una partita contro @louis88.

Nel momento in cui effettuo il tiro che porta al mio gol lo schermo diventa nero per pochi secondi.

In conclusione il mio giudizio e le mie prime impressioni su Genesis League Goals sono positive:

• il gioco è semplice da giocare ed è immediato da capire
• il gioco è potenzialmente divertente secondo me e quindi ha potenziale soprattutto considerato che su Hive non c'è un gioco di questo tipo e considerato che il calcio è tra gli sport più praticati e più amati nel mondo.

Ci sono dei bugs e dei lags che saranno sicuramente risolti durante la fase di test Closed Beta ma considerato che la versione Closed Beta ha solo due giorni di vita è normale che ci siano degli aspetti da migliorare e il team di sviluppo sta lavorando per migliorare il gioco e per risolvere tutti i bugs e i problemi con le animazioni come puoi vedere dagli annunci di aggiornamento pubblicati sul server discord di GLG.

Concludo questo mio post con un'analisi finanziaria del mio investimento su Genesis League Goals.

Su Genesis League Goals ho investito un totale di 1115.79 HIVE:
