I am an active player on several blockchain-based games but Splinterlands, more than three years after I joined, is still my favorite blockchain-based game.

Splinterlands has so many assets (NFTs and tokens) and offers so many investment possibilities.

One of the special features of Splinterlands is the ability to choose from multiple roles:

• the player
• the investor
• the player/investor

I on Splinterlands am a player/investor but mainly a player because I enjoy playing battles against other players in the Ranked Battles and Brawls game modes.

In three years and 10 days since my registration I have played a total of 20678 battles with an average of 18.68 battles played per day.

As a player, I always had the goal of increasing the battle strength of my card collection.

To increase the battle strength of my card collection, the method I have always used the most is to optimize my card collection.

To optimize my card collection:

• I sell the cards in my collection that I do not consider useful in battle or that might be useful at a certain level but for some reason I have decided not to upgrade (if they cost a lot for example)
• I buy cards that I consider useful in battle and that can help me win more battles.

In the past I have often shared through writing posts:

• how I choose cards to sell and cards to buy
• my ratings and the tools I use to optimize my card collection.

In today's post I want to show the importance that the value of DEC tokens has in the activity of optimizing my card collection and how this value affects my optimization strategy.

The importance of the value of DEC tokens in the sale and purchase of cards

DEC tokens generally play an important role in any card collection optimization activity, and their market value is something that I personally consider highly important to my card buying and selling strategy.

Each Splinterlands card has a cost expressed in terms of dollars but can be purchased using only two payment methods:

• the Credits
• the DEC tokens.

Credits have a fixed value in relation to dollars: 1000 Credits = $1.
DEC tokens have a market-dependent value, so it is a value governed by supply and demand.

Today October 28 1 DEC has a value of:

• 0.00130698 SWAP.HIVE = $0.0006174 (Lowest Ask)
• 0.00130602 SWAP.HIVE = $0.0006169 (Highest Bid)

So buying 1000 DEC tokens is equivalent to spending $0.6174.

If on the same day I sell a card that I do not use in battle and with the income I buy another card that I consider useful in battle I get the advantage of having increased the battle strength of my card collection.

If what I gain from the sale is enough to cover the cost of the card I chose to buy get a 0-cost game advantage.

But I could get much more in a very specific situation and if I carry out the card buying and selling operations in a longer time interval instead of one day.

If I sell a card when the value of DEC tokens is particularly low I get many more DECs than if I sell the same card but the value of DEC tokens is very high.

If my prediction is that the value of DECs might go up in the future it might be much more convenient to reach the selling goals immediately but postpone the buying goals because in this way I can get a double benefit if and when the value of DEC tokens will be higher.

I give a practical example.

If I sell one or more cards today and get a total of $500 from the sale I will receive in my game wallet $500 - 5% = 475$ in DEC tokens = 769978.92 DEC.

If with the revenue from the sale I want to buy a copy of Byzantine Kitty at the lowest market price I have to spend 443$.

If I buy the copy of Byzantine Kitty on the same day I sold my cards I will spend 718106.66 DEC.

If instead of buying Bizantine Kitty right away I wait for the value of DEC tokens to rise to a value of $0.00081 per unit I will spend a smaller amount of DEC tokens: 546913.58 DEC

I will have saved an amount of 171193.08 DEC that I can use to purchase more cards.

I gave this example to explain and introduce the strategy I have almost always followed to optimize my card collection and which I am also currently following.

Since I learned the news that SPS tokens would replace DEC tokens as the reward of Ranked Battles I have been trying to accumulate as many DECs as possible:

• selling cards that I was not using in battle.
• putting liquidity into the SWAP.HIVE:DEC pool.

I thought: if DEC tokens decrease their emission because they are no longer distributed as rewards for battle victories their value might increase.

Although the temptation to buy cards has always been strong I have resisted this temptation because I want to wait until DEC tokens reach a value close to the 1000 DEC = $1 peg to buy cards I like.

Since the date SPS tokens replaced DEC tokens in the rewards of ranked battles (August 23, 2022) the $0.01 value has never been reached even though just on August 23 DEC tokens reached a close value: 0.00082$.

The value of 0.0008262 has been the highest value for DEC tokens from August 23, 2022 until now.

**Will the DEC token reach the value of $0.001?

I am not a seer and I am not a trader and so my evaluations are personal and by no means financial advices but the conditions for DEC tokens to increase their value in the future are there because Splinterlands has repeatedly stated that it wants to reach the value of $0.001 for DEC tokens as a goal and the latest proposals published by the @sps.dao account on Hive confirm this intention by Splinterlands.

My Road to 2 Million DEC

For the reasons I stated earlier I have decided to accumulate and not spend the DEC tokens with the hope that sooner or later they will reach their peg: 1000 DEC = 1$.

In my in game wallet I have 223274.59 DEC.
On Hive Engine I have 751099 DEC.

In the SWAP.HIVE:DEC pool I have 508606.51 DEC.

Investing in the pool SWAP.HIVE:DEC has been a good choice so far and I am glad I did it.
On September 2 I added as liquidity:

• 500000 DEC
• 633.84 SWAP.HIVE

Thanks to the fees I have earned to date I have more liquidity in the pool than when I added liquidity.

In addition, in 56 days as a liquidity provider I have received as a reward a total of 85027.29 DEC

If I sum up all the DEC tokens in my possession I reach a total amount of 1482980.30 DEC.
My goal is to reach an amount of 2000000 of DEC tokens and to get closer to this goal as I finish writing this post I will select and put up for sale all the cards I have in my collection that I never or almost never use in battle.

When and if DEC tokens reach a value close to $0.01 I will purchase cards that will allow me to be more competitive in ranked battles and Brawls.

One of the aspects I like most about Splinterlands is that, in addition to being a beautiful game, it has so many assets (NFTs and tokens) and the possible investment strategies are consequently many.

Will my investment strategy be right or wrong?

Only time will determine, but even if it turns out to be wrong, I will still have had fun and increased my experience in evaluating market situations.

Wrong is learning and I am not afraid to be wrong ;)

L'ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte a la mia strategia sui token DEC

Sono un giocatore attivo su diversi giochi basati su blockchain ma Splinterlands, dopo più di tre anni dalla mia iscrizione, è ancora il mio gioco basato su blockchain preferito.

Splinterlands ha tanti assets (NFT e tokens) e offre tante possibilità di investimento.

Una delle particolarità di Splinterlands è la possibilità di poter scegliere tra più ruoli:

• il giocatore
• l'investitore
• il giocatore/investitore

Io su Splinterlands sono un giocatore/investitore ma sono soprattutto un giocatore perchè mi piace giocare le battaglie contro gli altri giocatori nelle Ranked Battles e nelle Brawls.

In tre anni e 10 giorni dalla mia iscrizione ho giocato un totale di 20678 battaglie con una media di 18.68 battaglie giocate al giorno.

Come giocatore ho avuto sempre l'obiettivo di aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte.

Per aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte il metodo che ho sempre utilizzato di più è quello di ottimizzare la mia collezione di carte.

Per ottimizzare la mia collezione di carte:

• vendo le carte della mia collezione che non considero utili in battaglia o che potrebbero essere utili ad un certo livello ma per qualche motivo ho deciso di non fare l'upgrade (se costano molto ad esempio)
• acquisto carte che considero utili in battaglia e che possono aiutarmi a vincere un maggior numero di battaglie in rapporto alle battaglie giocate (win rate).

In passato ho spesso condiviso tramite la scrittura di post:

• il modo con cui scelgo le carte da vendere e le carte da comprare
• le mie valutazioni e gli strumenti che uso.

Nel posto di oggi voglio mostrare l'importanza che ha il valore dei token DEC nell'attività di ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte e come questo valore condiziona la mia strategia di ottimizzazione.

L'importanza del valore dei token DEC nella vendita e acquisto delle carte

I token DEC rivestono in generale un ruolo importante in ogni attività di ottimizzazione di una collezione di carte e il loro valore di mercato è un elemento che io personalmente considero altamente importante per la mia strategia di acquisto e vendita delle carte.

Ogni carta di Splinterlands ha un costo espresso in termini di dollari ma può essere acquistata utilizzando solo due metodi di pagamento:

• i Crediti
• i token DEC

I Crediti hanno un valore fisso rapportato al dollaro: 1000 Crediti = 1 dollaro
I token DEC non hanno un valore rapportato al dollaro ma hanno un valore dipendente dal mercato e quindi dalla domanda e dall'offerta.

Oggi 28 ottobre 1 DEC ha un valore di:

• 0.00130698 SWAP.HIVE = $0.0006174 (Lowest Ask)
• 0.00130602 SWAP.HIVE = $0.0006169 (Highest Bid)

Quindi acquistare 1000 token DEC equivale a spendere 0.6174$

Se in uno stesso giorno vendo una carta che non utilizzo in battaglia e con il ricavato acquisto un'altra carta che considero utile in battaglia ottengo come vantaggio di aver aumentato la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte.

Se quello che ricavo dalla vendita è sufficiente per coprire il costo della carta che ho scelto di acquistare ottenuto un vantaggio di gioco a costo 0.

Ma potrei ottenere molto di più in una situazione ben precisa e se effettuo le operazioni di acquisto e di vendita di una carta in un intervallo di tempo più lungo invece di un giorno.

Se vendo una carta quando il valore dei token DEC è particolramente basso ottengo molti più DEC rispetto al caso in cui vendo la stessa carta ma il valore dei token DEC è molto alto.
Se prevedo che il valore dei DEC potrebbe salire in futuro potrebbe essere molto più conveniente raggiungere subito gli obiettivi di vendita ma posticipare gli obiettivi di acquisto perchè in questo modo posso ottenere un doppio vantaggio se e quando il valore dei token DEC sarà più alto.

Faccio un esempio pratico.

Se io oggi vendo una o più carte e ottengo dalla vendita un totale di 500$ riceverò nel mio wallet di gioco 500$ - 5% = 475$ in token DEC = 769978.92 DEC.

Se con il ricavato della vendita voglio acquistare una copia di Byzantine Kitty al prezzo più basso del mercato devo spendere 443$.

Se acquisto lo stesso giorno in cui ho venduto le mie carte una copia di Byzantine Kitty spenderò 718106.66 DEC.

Se invece di acquistare subito Bizantine Kitty aspetto che il valore dei token DEC salga ad un valore di 0.00081$ per unità spenderò un quantitativo inferiore di token DEC: 546913.58 DEC

Avrò risparmiato un quantitativo di 171193.08 DEC che potrò utilizzare per l'acquisto di altre carte.

Ho fatto questo esempio per spiegare e introdurre la strategia ho quasi sempre seguito per ottimizzare la mia collezione di carte e che sto seguendo anche attualmente.

Da quando ho appreso la notizia che i token SPS avrebbero sostituito i token DEC come ricompensa delle Ranked Battles ho cercato di accumulare il maggior numero di DEC possibili:

• vendendo carte che non utilizzavo in battaglia
• immettendo liquidità nella pool SWAP.HIVE:DEC

Anche se la tentazione di acquistare carte è stata sempre forte ho resistito a questa tentazione perchè voglio aspettare che i token DEC arrivino ad un valore vicino al peg 1000 DEC = 1 $ per acquistare le carte che mi piacciono.

Dalla data in cui i token SPS hanno preso il posto dei tokend DEC nelle ricompense delle ranked battles (23 agosto 2022) il valore 0.01$ non è stato mai raggiunto anche se proprio il 23 agosto i token DEC hanno raggiunto un valore molto vicino: 0.00082$.

Il valore di 0.0008262 è stato il valore più alto per i token DEC dal 23 agosto 2022 fino ad oggi.

Il token DEC raggiungerà il valore di 0.001$?

Non sono un veggente e non sono un trader e quindi le mie valutazioni sono personali e non sono assolutamente consigli finanziari ma i presupposti affinchè i token DEC possano aumentare il loro valore in futuro ci sono perchè Splinterlands ha più volte dichiarato di voler raggiungere come obiettivo il valore di 0.001$ per i token DEC e le ultime proposte pubblicate dall'account @sps.dao su Hive confermano questa volontà da parte di Splinterlanfds.

My Road to 2 Milioni di DEC

Per le motivazioni che ho esposto prima ho deciso di accumulare e di non spendere i token DEC con la speranza che prima o poi raggiungano il loro peg: 1000 DEC = 1$.

Nel mio in game wallet ho 223274.59 DEC.
Su Hive Engine ho 751099 DEC.

Nella pool SWAP.HIVE:DEC ho 508606.51 DEC

Investire nella pool SWAP.HIVE:DEC è stata fino ad ora un'ottima scelta e sono contento di averlo fatto.
Il 2 settembre ho aggiunto come liquidità:

• 500000 DEC
• 633.84 SWAP.HIVE

Grazie alle fees che ho guadagnato fino ad oggi ho nella pool un quantitativo di liquidità maggiore rispetto al momento in cui ho aggiunto liquidità.

Inoltre in 56 giorni da liquidity provider ho ricevuto come ricompensa un totale di 85027.29 DEC

Se faccio la somma di tutti i token DEC in mio possesso raggiungo un quantitativo totale di 1482980.30 DEC.
Il mio obiettivo è di arrivare ad un quantitativo di 2000000 di token DEC e per avvicinarmi a questo obiettivo come finirò di scrivere questo post selezionerò e metterò in vendita tutte le carte che ho nella mia collezione e che non uso mai o quasi mai in battaglia.

Quando e se i token DEC raggiungeranno un valore vicino a 0.01$ acquisterò le carte che mi permetteranno di essere più competitivo nelle ranked battles e nelle Brawls.

Uno degli aspetti che più mi piacciono di Splinterlands è che, oltre ad essere un bel gioco, ha tanti assets (NFTs e tokens) e le possibili strategie di investimento sono di conseguenza molte.

La mia strategia di investimento sarà giusta o sbagliata?

Solo il tempo potrà dirlo ma anche se si dovesse rivelare sbagliata mi sarò comunque divertito e avrò aumentato la mia esperienza nel valutare le situazioni di mercato.
