Today I want to share my activity of optimizing my card collection.

To optimize my card collection:

  • I sell the cards that are not very useful in battle and that are in low demand on the rental market
  • I buy cards that are useful in battle

The usefulness in battle

The battle usefulness of a card is not the same for all players, a card useful for me could be not so useful for another player and vice versa.
This difference in evaluation depends on several factors:

  • the level and the skill of the summoner card with which a card is used
  • the level and the skill(s) of the card.

Take for example the Tortisian Chief card of level 1 which is a neutral card and can be used with all summoners.

In the leagues I play in, Gold league and Diamond league, Tortisian Chief level 1 is a card that is not very useful in battle because it has:

  • only one magic attack point
  • two speed points
  • a mana cost of 5 points.

The importance of summoner type cards

If I use Tortisian Chief with a summoner that doesn't improve its battle stats, I won't have an advantage in battle because the card's stats remain unchanged.
If I have a level 4 Daria Dragonscale Summoner, I will most likely not use a level 1 Tortisian Chief, but I will prefer to use a card with a melee attack, even if it has only one point of melee attack that will be increased by one unit (1->2).

If instead of Daria Dragonscale I have a summoner like Alric Stormbringer level 1 in my card collection, the Tortisian Chief level 1 card increases its usefulness in battle because it gains an additional magic attack point (1->2).

If I have Alric Stormbringer of level 5 and I have upgraded Tortisian Chief to level 4 Tortisian Chief's battle utility increases considerably because:

  • it gains 1 additional magic attack point thanks to the Alric Stormbringer skill
  • acquires the Tank Heal ability that allows the card in the first position to recover a portion of life points each round of the battle.

The example above shows the importance of the summoner type cards a player has in their card collection that determine each player's buying and selling strategy.

Today I looked at my card collection and decided to sell some cards and below I will explain the reasons that made me make this decision.

The Magma Troll card

In my card collection I have 11 Magma Troll cards of level 1.

As you can see from the image below, some of my cards have been rented from other players from which I get a daily income of 0.1 DEC tokens per card.

The lowest price on the sale market is $0.69 (Magma Troll level 1)

The lowest price for BCX is 0.55$ - Magma Troll level 2 (combination of 8 level 1 cards).

The reasons for my sale

The reasons I decided to sell all of the Magma Troll cards in my possession are as follows:

Reason #1: I have cards in my card collection that are stronger and more useful in battle than the level 1 Magma Troll card.

Magma Troll is a card that can only attack from the top two positions.
In the following image you can see the alternatives I have available in my collection that play much better than level 1 Magma Troll in many battles.

Reason number 2: It's better to buy other cards instead of upgrading Magma Troll

Before I decided to sell my cards I also considered the possibility of upgrading Magma Troll.
Magma Troll becomes a more useful card in battle when it reaches level 4 (combination of 30 level 1 cards) because:

  • it gains an additional attack point (1->2)
  • increases his speed compared to level 1 by one unit (2->3)
  • increase his health points by one unit (3->4)

But even Magma Troll level 4 does not compete with other cards that are more useful in battle and also cost less.

In fact in the following image there are 4 alternatives that cost less and except Grumpy Dwarf, the other cards can attack from all positions unlike Magma Troll which can only attack from the first two positions (except for special battle rules).

Reason #3: The gain obtainable from renting is low.

Magma Troll level 1 is not a very popular card in the rental market and can be rented for 0.1 - 0.09 DEC tokens.
At the time of writing this post I have 3 Magma Troll cards rented to other players.

One rented Magma Troll card gives me an income of 0.100 DEC tokens with a corresponding dollar value of $0.0013.
Any passive income is good income but in this case I prefer to sell the Magma Troll cards in my possession to buy cards that I could use in battle or cards that have higher rental demands than Magma Troll.

Section Market site of Splinterlands VS Peakmonsters

For the sale of my Magma Troll cards I have used the My Cards section of the Peakmonsters site (https://peakmonsters.com/) which allows to speed up a lot the operation of selling groups of cards compared to the Splinterlands site.
Inside the section My Cards I have inserted in the sub-section filters the initial part of the name and the level of the card to sell.

Then I selected the cards to sell (first column of the following image).

Then I clicked on the symbol at the top right indicated by arrow number 1 in the following image and then clicked on SELL as indicated by arrow number 2 in the following image.

On the next screen:

  • I selected the Relative (+/- Perc) option - Arrow number 1 in the following image
  • I selected the Low Buy Price option - Arrow number 2 in the following image
  • I have inserted the -0.5% value

Basically I chose to sell my level 1 Magma Troll cards at a price 0.5% lower than the lowest purchase price on the market.

Then I pressed the REVIEW button.

On the next screen I clicked on CONFIRM as indicated by the arrow in the following image.

Now I just have to wait for my cards to be purchased.

If after 3 days my cards have not been purchased I will lower the sale price.
With the earnings from the sale of the cards I will immediately buy other cards

Conclusion

On October 18, the pre-sale of the new Chaos Legion card collection will begin and on November 17, card packs can be opened.
So many new cards will arrive in Splinterlands battlefields and they could bring down the price of the less useful cards in battle, so for that date I will try to sell all the cards I don't use in battle except the cards that could gain more value in the future such as gold cards.

Oggi voglio condividere la mia attività di ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte.

Per ottimizzare la mia collezione di carte:

  • vendo le carte che sono poco utili in battaglia e che sono poco richieste sul mercato del noleggio
  • acquisto carte che sono utili in battaglia

L'utilità in battaglia

L'utilità in battaglia di una carta non è uguale per tutti i giocatori, una carta utile per me potrebbe essere poco utile per un altro giocatore e viceversa.
Questa differenza di valutazione dipende da diversi fattori:

  • il livello e l'abilità della carta evocatore con cui viene utilizzata una carta
  • il livello e la/le abilità della carta.

Prendiamo ad esempio la carta Tortisian Chief di livello 1 che è una carta neutrale e può essere usata con tutti gli evocatori.

Nelle leghe in cui gioco io, lega Gold e lega Diamond, Tortisian Chief di livello 1 è una carta poco utile in battaglia perchè ha:

  • un solo punto di attacco magico
  • due punti velocità
  • un costo in mana di 5 punti.

L'importanza delle carte di tipo evocatore

Se utilizzo Tortisian Chief con un evocatore che non migliora le sue statistiche di battaglia non avrò un vantaggio in battaglia perchè le statistiche della carta rimangono inalterate.
Se ho l'evocatore Daria Dragonscale di livello 4 con molta probabilità non utilizzerò Tortisian Chief di livello 1 ma preferirò utilizzare una carta con attacco da mischia anche se ha un solo punto di attacco da mischia che sarà incrementato di un'unità (1->2).

Se invece di Daria Dragonscale ho nella mia collezione di carte un evocatore come Alric Stormbringer di livello 1, la carta Tortisian Chief di livello 1 aumenta la sua utilità in battaglia perchè acquisisce un punto di attacco magico aggiuntivo (1->2).

Se ho Alric Stormbringer di livello 5 e ho potenziato Tortisian Chief fino al livello 4 l'utilità in battaglia di Tortisian Chief aumenta in modo considerevole perchè:

  • acquisisce 1 punto di attacco magico aggiuntivo grazie all'abilità di Alric Stormbringer
  • acquisisce l'abilità Tank Heal che permette alla carta posizionata in prima posizione di recuperare una porzione dei punti vita ad ogni round della battaglia.

L'esempio sopra mostra l'importanza delle carte di tipo evocatore che un giocatore ha nella sua collezione di carte che determinano la strategia di acquisto e vendita di ogni giocatore.

Oggi ho guardato la mia collezione di carte e ho deciso di vendere alcune carte e di seguito ti spiego i motivi che mi ha fatto prendere questa decisione.

La carta Magma Troll

Nella mia collezione di carte ho 11 carte Magma Troll di livello 1

Come puoi vedere dall'immagine seguente, alcune mie carte sono state noleggiate da altri giocatori dal cui noleggio ottengo un'entrata giornaliera di 0.1 token DEC per ogni carta.

Il prezzo più basso sul mercato di vendita è di 0.69$ (Magma Troll di livello 1)

Il prezzo più basso per BCX è di 0.55$ - Magma Troll di livello 2 (combinazione di 8 carte di livello 1).

I motivi della vendita

I motivi per cui ho deciso di vendere tutte le carte Magma Troll in mio possesso sono i seguenti:

Motivo numero 1: Nella mia collezione di carte ho carte più forti e utili in battaglia rispetto alla carta Magma Troll di livello 1.

Magma Troll è una carta che può attaccare solo dalle due prime posizioni.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le alternative che ho a disposizione nella mia collezione che giocano molto meglio di Magma Troll di livello 1 in molte battaglie.

Motivo numero 2: Conviene acquistare altre carte invece di potenziare Magma Troll

Magma Troll diventa una carta più utile in battaglia quando raggiunge il livello 4 (combinazione di 30 carte di livello 1) perchè:

  • acquisisce un punto di attacco aggiuntivo (1->2)
  • aumenta la sua velocità rispetto al livello 1 di una unità (2->3)
  • aumenta i suoi punti vita di una unità (3->4)

Ma anche Magma Troll di livello 4 non regge il confronto con altre carte che sono più utili in battaglia e che costano anche meno.

Infatti nell'immagine seguente ci sono 4 alternative che costano meno e tranne Grumpy Dwarf, le altre carte possono attaccare da tutte le posizioni a differenza di Magma Troll che può attaccare solo dalle prime due posizioni (escluse particolari regole di battaglia).

Motivo numero 3: il guadagno ottenibile dal noleggio è basso.

Magma Troll di livello 1 non è una carta molto richiesta nel mercato del noleggio e può essere noleggiata a 0.1 - 0.09 token DEC.
Nel momento in cui scrivo questo post ho 3 carte Magma Troll noleggiate ad altri giocatori.

Una carta Magma Troll data in noleggio mi garantisce un entrata di 0.100 token DEC il cui corrispondente valore in dollari è di 0.0013$.
Ogni entrata passiva è un ottima entrata ma in questo caso preferisco vendere le carte Magma Troll in mio possesso per acquistare carte che potrei utilizzare in battaglia o carte che hanno richieste di noleggio maggiori rispetto a Magma Troll.

Sezione Marke sito di Splinterlands VS Peakmonsters

Per la vendita delle mie carte Magma Troll ho utilizzato la sezione My Cards del sito di Peakmonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/) che permette di velocizzare di molto l'operazione di messa in vendita di gruppi di carte rispetto al sito di Splinterlands.

Dopo ho inserito nella sezione filtri la parte iniziale del nome e il livello della carta da vendere.

Poi ho selezionato le carte da vendere (prima colonna immagine seguente).

Poi ho cliccato sul simbolo in alto a destra indicato dalla freccia numero 1 nell'immagine seguente e poi ho cliccato su SELL come indicato dalla freccia numero 2 nell'immagine seguente.

Nella schermata successiva:

  • ho selezionato l'opzione Relative (+/- Perc) - Freccia numero 1 nell'immagine seguente
  • ho selezionato l'opzione Low Buy Price - Freccia numero 2 nell'immagine seguente
  • ho inserito il valore -0.5%

In pratica ho scelto di vendere le mie carte Magma Troll di livello 1 ad un prezzo inferiore dello 0.5% rispetto al costo di acquisto più basso presente sul mercato.

Poi ho premuto sul tasto REVIEW

Nella schermata successiva ho cliccato su CONFIRM come indicato dalla freccia nell'immagine seguente.

Adesso devo solo aspettare che le mie carte vengano acquistate.

Se dopo 3 giorni le mie carte non saranno state acquistate abbasserò il prezzo di vendita.
Con il ricavato della vendita delle carte acquisterò subito altre carte.

Conclusione

Il 18 ottobre inizierà la prevendita della nuova collezione di carte Chaos Legion e il 17 novembre sarà possibile aprire i pacchi di carte.
Tante carte nuove potrebbero far scendere il prezzo delle carte meno utili in battaglia e quindi per quella data cercherò di vendere tutte le carte che non uso in battaglia tranne le carte che potrebbero acquistare ulteriore valore in futuro come ad esempio le carte dorate.

Very thorough explanation.

Takes time this doesn't it, optimising cards!

I personally stopped levelling the chief when he picked up tank heal, I've done that with quite a lot, found their optimum around that first or second buff.

Now times that process by, what 50 or 100 cards and you're sorted!

Yes it is true that it takes a bit of time but it is also a fun activity to do ;)

I also upgraded tortisian chief to level 5.
I agree with you that there are cards that are not worth upgrading until the last level, it makes no sense especially if they acquire only one more life point.

Attualmente non ho applicato un buona strategia a riguardo della compravendita di carte. Sto iniziando invece a noleggiare alcune carte che non uso in battaglia. Tu sai uaare Splinterlands con una maestria eccezionale

Noleggiare le carte che non usi in battaglia è un'ottima mossa e lo faccio anche io da tempo ma le carte che non uso in battaglia e che mi fanno guadagnare poco preferisco venderle per poi comprare carte più utili o appetibili per il noleggio ;)
