My Road To Champion Leagues and My End Of Season Strategy
I haven't reached the Champion III league in many months, but in the past it was a goal I achieved with ease by renting select cards from the market during the last day or at most the last two days before the end of the Splinterlands seasons.
Then, when rental prices went up, I preferred to be satisfied with getting to Gold I/Diamond III league and rented my cards that I wasn't using in battle.
On the first day of the General Sale I purchased 747 packs of Chaos Legion cards.
Today I opened the last 8 Chaos Legion packs I had left to open, I wasn't very lucky with the cards in the packs but I increased my Power score by another 855 points.
After opening 747 Chaos Legion packs I added 3735 cards to my card collection and my Power score exceeded 500000 points: 562085 points.
With a power score of 562085 points I have met the first requirement to enter the Champion leagues of Splinterlands and then I decided to set myself the goal of returning at least to Champion III.
The second requirement to enter the Champion III league is to reach a rating score of 3700.
I am currently in the Diamond III league and have a rating score of 2859 points.
There are less than 2 days left until the end of the season and to reach my goal I would need to increase my rating score by 841 points.
This will not be an easy goal to achieve for two reasons:
- the competition has leveled up as the number of players has increased
- the battle strength of my card collection may not be enough to reach my seasonal goal.
To understand if my card collection can be adequate to reach the Champion III league I went to see the card collection of the players who are in the ranking and have already exceeded the power score of 3700 points.
The first player I found in the Diamond ranking with a rating score higher than 3700 points is the player raised2b.
Leaving the "playable" filter, I found no legendary summoners and no legendary cards in Raised2b's collection.
Evidently Raised2b's strategy is to reach a score above 3700 points in the early days of the season and then rent his strongest cards which he will most likely get back in good time before the end of the season.
And indeed when I selected the "Rented Out" filter I was able to see raised2b's Summoner and Legendary cards.

I also went to see the card collection of 6 other players who had a rating score of just over 3700 points and the constant was as follows:
- everyone has at least 3 legendary summoners of maximum level and Yodin Zaku is always there.
- everyone has at least 20 legendary cards upgraded to maximum level.
It was interesting to do this research because I could see, besides the card collections, also the rental strategies of some players and I noticed that the same strategy of raised2b is adopted by many players.
Only one player in the ranking had no cards in his deck (kirou) and I honestly didn't understand the reason or why, but I didn't want to investigate because the intent of my research was only to have an idea about the kind of cards needed to pass the rating score of 3700 points with two days to go before the end of the season.
My card collection does not have the strength in battle of the card collections of the players I monitored.
In the following image you can see the summoners I use the most.
The only summoner I have at max level is Daria Dragonscale who is a great summoner but doesn't have the same strength in battle as the legendary summoners.
The conclusion of my brief research is that if I want to get back to at least Champion III league I must necessarily upgrade my summoners.
Beta collection summoners cost a lot while Chaos Legion collection summoners have much lower market prices.
For this reason, instead of buying or upgrading the Beta summoners that I already have in my collection, I decided to focus on upgrading the Chaos Legion summoners and I will try to upgrade them all to the maximum level but I will proceed step by step starting with two summoners that I already have at level 4 and that will allow me to expand the strategic choices available to me:
- Obsidian: upgrade target: level 8
- Kelya Frendul: Enhancement goal: level 8.
I didn't mention the last summoner of the Chaos Legion collection released by Splinterlands, Waka SpiritBlade, but only because it costs a lot and it's not currently in my possibilities but I really like this summoner and it's really useful and strong in battle.
The first summoner I will upgrade is Obsidian, a nature element summoner with the ability to increase the magic attack of the cards he summons by one unit.
Obsidian is the summoner I like the most among the rare type summoners in the Chaos Legion collection.
Today February 27, Obsidian maximum level (combination of 115 level 1 cards) has a cost of $450.
I also have specific purchase goals related to monster type cards but that will be the topic of a future post of mine.
In order to upgrade my card collection as quickly as possible:
- I will sell all the VOUCHER tokens that I receive daily and invest the gain obtained in the purchase of cards
- I will keep only 100k DEC tokens in my wallet and the excess will be used to buy cards from the market.
- I will sell all the cards that I do not use in battle to buy cards useful in battle.
For example, I will sell the summoners from the Untamed collection that I have hardly ever used in battle and that I regularly rent to other players.
My end-of-season strategy
In order to arrive with constancy at least in Champion III, I must necessarily improve my collection of cards and to do so I will need time, so to arrive already in this season in Champion III will be very difficult if not impossible.
Although getting to Champion III will be very difficult I will try to do it and if the rental market conditions are favorable I will also rent cards from other players to reach my goal.
Obviously renting cards must be profitable and not counterproductive.
It is worthwhile to rent cards from other players only if the expected value of the reward is higher than the cost of the rental.
In my end-of-season strategy I will proceed step by step:
**1. I will try to reach the next league without renting cards.
2. if I find it difficult to advance in a league, I will rent cards from other players but only if the value of the reward I could get by advancing in a league is higher than the cost of renting.
Understanding how much to spend for the rental is important and it is an easy information to know thanks to the site https://www.splintercards.com/tool-lootchest.html that calculates the estimated value of a chest.
In fact, finishing in one league instead of another allows to get more or less chests as end-of-season reward.
The choice to rent cards in order to end the season in a more advanced league must necessarily depend on the estimated value of the chests that can be obtained as rewards.
According to the Splintercards website the estimated value of a chest is:
- $0.233 = 68.6 DEC (including potions and credits value).
- 0.223$ = 65.7 DEC (potions and credits value excluded)
For example, advancing from the Diamond III league to the Diamond II league** allows you to get 50 chests as a reward instead of 40.
The difference is 10 chests with an estimated value of 657 DEC tokens = $2.23.
Spending on rental 657 DEC tokens to upgrade from Diamond III to Diamond II league is a transaction that has a zero estimated profit.
Spending more than 657 DEC tokens for rental to move from Diamond III league to Diamond II league is a transaction that makes no sense because it has a negative expected value (loss)
Spending less than 657 DEC tokens to move up a league is the only choice that has a positive expected value and it is the choice I will follow in this final season.
More specifically I will spend on the rental, half the estimated value of the reward I would get if I advanced a league.
Conclusion
Today I wanted to share my goals and the strategy I chose to follow in this season finale.
Reaching the Champion III league will be difficult but I will have fun trying to reach it because I enjoy playing Splinterlands and if I have a goal I enjoy it even more.
Will my strategy have a positive or negative outcome?
I will find out very soon because there is very little time left until the end of the current season of Splinterlands and if you like, follow me to find out if I will have reached my goal at the end of the season or not.

Any game that involves the purchase of cards and tokens is never a simple game but it is also an investment and should be considered as such.
I am not a financial consultant and if you decide to invest in the game of Splinterlands you do it for your own choice, after having made your personal evaluations and considered all possible risk factors.
My advice is to always invest only what you can afford to lose with a light heart.

Non arrivo in lega Champion III da molti mesi ma in passato era un obiettivo che raggiungevo con facilità grazie al noleggio di selezionate carte dal mercato durante l'ultimo giorno o al massimo gli ultimi due giorni prima della fine delle stagioni di Splinterlands.
Poi, quando sono aumentati i prezzi di noleggio, ho preferito accontentarmi di arrivare in lega Gold I/Diamond III e ho noleggiato le mie carte che non utilizzavo in battaglia.
Il primo giorno della General Sale ho acquistato 747 pacchi di carte Chos Legion.
Oggi ho aperto gli ultimi 8 pacchi Chaos Legion che avevo ancora da aprire, non sono stato molto fortunato con le carte contenute nei pacchi ma ho aumentato il mio punteggio Power di altri 855 punti.
Dopo aver aperto 747 pacchi Chaos Legion ho aggiunto 3735 carte alla mia collezione di carte e il mio punteggio Power ha superato i 500000 punti: 562085 punti.
Con un punteggio power di 562085 punti ho soddisfatto il primo requisito per accedere alle leghe Champion di Splinterlands e quindi ho deciso di pormi l'obbietivo di ritornare almeno in lega Champion III.
Il secondo requisito per accedere alla lega Champion III è raggiungere un punteggio di rating di 3700.
Al momento sono in lega Diamond III e ho un punteggio di rating di 2859 punti.
Mancano meno di 2 giorni alla fine della stagione e per raggiungere il mio obiettivo dovrei aumentare il mio punteggio di rating di 841 punti.
Non sarà un obiettivo facile da raggiungere per due motivi:
- la competizione è salita di livello con l'aumento del numero dei giocatori
- la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte potrebbe essere appena sufficiente per raggiungere il mio obiettivo stagionale.
Per capire se la mia collezione di carte può essere adeguata per raggiungere la lega Champion III sono andato a vedere la collezione di carte dei giocatori che sono in classifica e che hanno già superato il punteggio power di 3700 punti.
Il primo giocatore che ho trovato in classifica Diamond con un punteggio di rating superiore a 3700 punti è il giocatore raised2b.
Lasciando il filtro "playable" non ho trovato nessun evocatore leggendario e nessuna carta leggendaria nella collezione di Raised2b.
Evidentemente la strategia di Raised2b è quella di raggiungere un punteggio superiore a 3700 punti nei primi giorni della stagione per poi noleggiare le sue carte più forti che riprenderà con molta probabilità in tempo utile prima della fine della stagione.
E infatti quando ho selezionato il filtro "Rented Out" sono stato in grado di vedere le carte Evocatore e le carte leggendarie di raised2b.

Sono andato a vedere anche la collezione di carte di altri 6 giocatori che avevano un punteggio di rating di poco superiore ai 3700 punti e la costante e stata la seguente:
- tutti hanno almeno 3 evocatori leggendari di massimo livello e Yodin Zaku c'è sempre.
- tutti hanno almeno 20 carte leggendarie potenziate al massimo livello
E' stato interessante fare questa ricerca perchè ho potuto vedere, oltre alle collezioni di carte, anche le strategie di noleggio di alcuni giocatori e ho notato che la stessa strategia di raised2b è adottata da molti giocatori.
Un solo giocatore presente in classifica non aveva carte nel suo deck (kirou) e sinceramente non ho capito il motivo o il perchè ma non ho voluto approfondire perchè l'intento della mia ricerca era solo quello di avere un'idea sul tipo delle carte necessarie per superare il punteggio di rating di 3700 punti con due giorni di anticipo rispetto alla fine della stagione.
La mia collezione di carte non ha la forza in battaglia delle collezioni di carte dei giocatori che ho monitorato.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere gli evocatori che utilizzo di più.
L'unico evocatore che ho al massimo livello è Daria Dragonscale che è un'ottimo evocatore ma non ha la stessa forza in battaglia degli evocatori leggendari.
La conclusione della mia breve ricerca è che se voglio tornare almeno in lega Champion III devo necessariamente potenziare i miei evocatori.
Gli evocatori della collezione Beta costano molto mentre gli evocatori della collezione Chaos Legion hanno prezzi di mercato molto più bassi.
Per questo motivo invece di acquistare o potenziare gli evocatori Beta che già ho deciso di concentrarmi sul potenziamento degli evocatori Chaos Legion e cercherò di potenziarli tutti al massimo livello ma procederò per gradi iniziando da due evocatori che ho già al livello 4 e che mi permetteranno di ampliare le scelte strategiche a mia disposizione:
- Obsidian: obiettivo potenziamento: livello 8
- Kelya Frendul: obiettivo potenziamento: livello 8.
Non ho menzionato l'ultimo evocatore della collezione Chaos Legion rilasciato da Splinterlands, Waka SpiritBlade, ma solo perchè costa tanto e non è al momento nelle mie possibilità ma questo evocatore mi piace molto ed è davvero utile e forte in battaglia.
Il primo evocatore che potenzierò sarà Obsidian, evocatore dell'elemento natura con l'abilità di aumentare l'attacco magico delle carte da lui evocate di una unità.
Obsidian è l'evocatore che mi piace di più tra gli evocatori di tipo raro della collezione Chaos Legion.
Oggi 27 febbrario Obsidian di livello massimo (combinazione di 115 carte di livello 1) ha un costo di 450$.
Ho anche precisi obiettivi di acquisto relativi alle carte di tipo mostro ma questo sarà l'argomento di un mio prossimo post.
Per potenziare nel modo più veloce possibile la mia collezione di carte:
- venderò tutti i token VOUCHER che riceverò giornalmente e investirò il guadagno ottenuto nell'acquisto di carte
- conserverò solo 100k token DEC nel mio wallet e la parte eccedente la utilizzerò per acquistare carte dal mercato.
- venderò tutte le carte che non utilizzo in battaglia per comprare carte utili in battaglia.
Ad esempio venderò gli evocatori della collezione Untamed che non ho praticamente mai utilizzato in battaglia e che ho invece regolarmente dato in noleggio ad altri giocatori.
La mia strategia di fine stagione
Per arrivare con costanza almeno in Champion III devo necessariamente potenziare la mia collezione di carte e per farlo avrò bisogno di tempo e quindi arrivare già in questa stagione in Champion III sarà molto difficile se non impossibile.
Anche se arrivare in Champion III sarà molto difficile proverò a farlo e se le condizioni del mercato del noleggio saranno favorevoli noleggerò anche delle carte da altri giocatori per raggiungere il mio obiettivo.
Ovviamente noleggiare carte deve essere un'operazione profittevole e non controproducente.
Conviene noleggiare delle carte da altri giocatori solo se la ricompensa ottenibile tramite il noleggio ha un valore atteso stimato superiore al costo sostenuto per il noleggio.
Nella mia strategia di fine stagione procederò per gradi:
1. proverò a raggiungere la lega successiva senza noleggiare carte
2. se troverò difficoltà ad avanzare di lega noleggerò carte da altri giocatori ma solo se il valore della ricompensa che potrei ottenere avanzando di lega sarà maggiore del costo del noleggio.
Capire quanto spendere per il noleggio è importante ed è un informazione facile da conoscere grazie al sito https://www.splintercards.com/tool-lootchest.html che calcola il valore stimato di un forziere.
Infatti terminare in una lega invece che in un'altra permette di ottenere un numero maggiore o minore di forzieri come ricompensa di fine stagione.
La scelta di noleggiare delle carte con lo scopo di terminare la stagione in una lega più avanzata deve necessariamente dipendere dal valore stimato dei forzieri ottenibili come ricompensa.
Secondo il sito Splintercards il valore stimato di un forziere è di:
- 0.233$ = 68.6 DEC (valore pozioni e crediti incluso)
- 0.223$ = 65.7 DEC (valore pozioni e crediti escluso)
Ad esempio avanzare dalla lega Diamond III alla lega Diamond II permette di ottenere come ricompensa 50 forzieri invece di 40.
La differenza è di 10 forzieri il cui valore stimato è di 657 token DEC = 2.23$
Spendere per il noleggio 657 token DEC per passare dalla lega Diamond III alla lega Diamond II è un'operazione che ha un profitto stimato nullo.
Spendere per il noleggio più di 657 token DEC per passare dalla lega Diamond III alla lega Diamond II è un'operazione che non ha senso perchè ha un valore atteso negativo (perdita)
Spendere per il noleggio meno di 657 token DEC per avanzare di lega è l'unica scelta che ha un valore atteso positivo ed è la scelta che seguirò in questo finale di stagione.
Più precisamente spenderò per il noleggio la metà del valore stimato della ricompensa che otterrei se avanzassi di lega.
Conclusione
Oggi ho voluto condividere i miei obiettivi e la strategia che ho scelto di seguire in questo finale di stagione.
Raggiungere la lega Champion III sarà difficile ma mi divertirò cercando di raggiungerla perchè giocare a Splinterlands mi piace e se ho un obiettivo mi diverto ancora di più.
La mia strategia avrà un esito positivo o negativo?
Lo scoprirò molto presto perchè manca davvero poco alla fine della stagione in corso di Splinterlands e se hai piacere seguimi per scoprire se avrò raggiunto il mio obiettivo di fine stagione oppure no.

The loot chest value estimator seems like a great metric to know whether the rental costs would be worth it. I often just rent out whatever amount to reach my target league. But I'll make more sensible rental decisions next time using the estimator.
