Golem Overlord - Starting from Scratch: Episode 1

So I started playing Golem Overlord when the alpha version came out last week and got hooked right away. I even invested in a bunch of PART (that's the in-game currency) for my main account and made some decent returns.

But with the value of PART now doubling since I started (right now over 2 HIVE!!), I wanted to see how fast I could grow a second account without investing in any PART.

So, I created a new account and paid the 20 Swap.Hive fee to get started with 3 PART. I put my PART into Algorithm, Fortification, and Golem Charging Station, which all help with scavenging more PART. For this account, scavenging is going to be my focus.

Upgrading Algorithm and Golem Charging Station boosted my scavenging potential from 5.4 PART to 8.7 PART per day, which is pretty sweet. And upgrading Fortification is a no-brainer because it protects my hard-earned PART from other players who might try to steal it.

Now I'm just waiting to see how much I can collect in the next 8 hours. I'll keep reinvesting my PART to keep upgrading my account and see how far I can take it. Keep an eye out for updates on my progress!

depends.. even just having high faith could demotivate people from attacking you or at least lower their steal

The minimum steal amount is 1. At lower levels, you will probably generate 3 or 4 parts every claim window. This means it will only take 3 or 4 attacks to zero you out.

but the penalties do influence this right?

If you are below 100 rating there are no penalties. If you are above yes it minimum is reduced by penalties.

ahh so the 3 fort is to deter those below 100 and above will likely chose other targets anyway?

Yep, you will still get attacks at fort 3 but not as much only 1 and very rarely 2 attacks per claim window. At 4 fort and below 100 rating you rarely recieve attacks.

hmm yeah I was thinking of keeping fort at 3 and upgrading faith a lot after 100 rating..

figure most above 100 won't go for the 1 part minimum anyway and faith taking a large cut could make others more favorable target, might need to go to 4 if low ratings keep attacking

Yeah agreed! In my main, I purchased a good amount of PART and put a lot of it into fortification. So far so good in this alt account but now someone will prob see this and want to battle me. 😆

Feeling this real strong, after checkin out the game at launch and thinking I want to focus on certain aspect also made another account for scavenging, little bit of a different strategy, which is likely very slow but might be worth it in the long run..

so much will change and evolve though so it's hard to tell, but I like having two accounts to experiment and adjust to development :-)

I agree! The game is changing fast so I'm excited to have two accounts to try out different things. I have two Splinterlands accounts for that reason too. Most of the fun for me is trying out different strategies.

Yeah wholeheartedly agree, especially since it's mostly an idle game so the fun is in the strategies :-)

With more gameplay elements it can become real interesting but it's already a lot of fun
