The importance of joining guilds and winning brawls (NEW PLAYERS MUST KNOW THIS!!!)

That's right! Even if you're a new player, by now you probably know that joining a guild gives you small benefits like a tiny bit more DEC per ranked battle or discounts at the shop. But, as you'll soon realize, these are the least significant reasons to bother joining.

The real value of becoming a guild member is an opportunity to accumulate even more Collection Power than you can scrap from daily quests, especially if you're stuck in the Bronze league. Exactly how, you might ask?

Easy.

Win brawls!

Joining a guild and constantly donating DEC for leveling up buildings might not seem like a good tradeoff at first. But if you decide to participate in guild brawls, you can stack more value on your account than you might expect.

How so? Because every time you participate in a brawl, no matter win or lose, you get a reward in the form of Merits. You might get anything between 100 and +1,000 depending on how your guild performed that time, but what's important is that you'll get it every time.

And Merits is what we're going after here because when you collect 2,000 Merits, you can buy a Gladius pack.

Now, consider this: each pack contains five cards, and the difference between normal cards and Gladius cards is that you can't sell them on the market or use them in ranked battles. I know, sounds terrible, HOWEVER, each and every card can be burned in exchange for DEC, meaning they also give Collection Power.

In times when packs are scarce and the best deals on Collection Power fluctuate around 30 CP/$1,buying Gladius packs can be the single best way to accumulate CP without spending anything at all!

As you can see in the screenshot below, it is totally possible to get at least one pack a month even without winning most of the brawls.

Well yeah, but is it really worth it?

YES!

Here's some 3rd-grade math to prove it:

In the span of three months, I've managed to buy 3 Gladius packs, which gave me 15 cards in total. 14 of those got me 390 CP. However, let's not forget that opening packs is a matter of testing your luck, and if you're lucky like me, you might get something like this:

This bad boy added 2,000 CP to my Collection Power and single-handedly increased my total by 20%, no investment needed!

So, with just three packs I've managed to round up 2,390 CP. Although I can't sell those cards, they add up to my Daily Airdrop points and will continue to pay dividends for another 240 days of the remaining airdrop. Sweet!

Gold foil or not, getting cards from Gladius packs have no real downside and can only add value to your account. If that's not a good enough reason to finally join a guild, I don't know what is!

Anyway, I hope you've learned something new today.

Have a great day and good luck playing & earning in Splinterlands!
