‘Going the Distance’? TINDERLOCK!

Do you ever struggle in these Going the Distance ruleset battles? Let me tell you a secret - all you need is one card. Well, two. And Skargore. Check it out!

Match Ruleset Overview:

In this particular matchup, we have three rulesets, 19 Mana to use, and a summoner to choose from four elements.

Let’s go through rulesets real quick:

  • A Tis But Scratches ruleset is tricky but going for cards with high Health is always a good line of thinking. Since Fire monsters can be quite Health-heavy, and some also can attack from the first position with Ranged attacks, it’s a good starting point.

  • Taking Sides ruleset doesn’t impact this battle much. I didn’t take it into consideration here.

  • However, Going the Distance ruleset is what we’re paying attention to here. Since you can only use cards with Ranged attacks, a priority should be for a card that can attack being in the first spot, preferably with high Heath. Hence, Tinderlock. But wait, there’s more…

Card Selection & Lineup:

The Summoner: Skargore

Skargore might be a bit niche, but it can be amazing in certain scenarios, such as this one. Since I know that my enemy will use Ranged attacks, I want to have as much speed as possible to potentially evade those attacks.

Skargore allows me to maximize my speed and mixes up pretty spectacularly with Tinderlock’s abilities.

1st Spot: Firecaller

If you’re not quite familiar with Firecaller, that’s because it’s a new Reward Soulbound card and not every player has managed to get it yet. But if you do, you’re the lucky one as you can use it in various creative ways depending on active rulesets.

In this case, Firecaller is a sacrificial lamb and is placed in the 1st spot just to give a boost to my Tinderlock. Since it’s guaranteed that it dies first, it’s a no-brainer move here.

2nd Spot: TINDERLOCK

With Skargore’s Enrage and Firecaller’s Martyr abilities, Tinderlock becomes a beast when Last Stand kicks in. With 6 Damage and 9 Speed in its final form, you bet it’s going to be a nightmare to take down.

How it begins: Looks a bit scary!

How it ends: A complete devastation of LVL3 Yodin with many, many dodges.

I am fighting my way through silver, I have a family solid water deck but I feel like I need a back up. Do you have any recommendations?

Can't think of anything in particular but one thing I noticed is that Riftwatchers cards often surprise other players and catch them off guard, especially those that have rare abilities (for example, Arachne Thug with Trample, Ash Mirage or Queen of Crows with Headwinds, Whelp Herder with Opportunity, Runeslinger with Stun, and so on).
