The Wands Out ruleset is one of the most recent to be introduced into the game. Through it, only monsters that have magic attack are allowed to be used.
This puts a huge limit on the options available for battle.
Even so, there are plenty of strategies that can be builded for this ruleset.
And as we well know, there is no 'best strategy' in Splinterlands, everything will depend on the other rules that come with it, as well as, of course, the mana available for use.
In the case of the battle I faced recently, the mana usage was the highest in the entire game, which is 99.
This meant that both my opponent and I had to abuse the strongest magic monsters in the game.
Two other rules were also present in battle:
Holy Protection: all monsters receive the ability Divine Shield, becoming immune to damage on the first attack received.
Target Practice: all monsters receive the ability Snipe.
My strategy was to put Agor Longtail in front. His Void Armor ability means that any magical attack hits his armor before his own life.
What's more, most of the attacks are aimed at him, thanks to the Taunt.
I put Oshuur Constantia and River Hellondale right behind it, both of which have the Ressurect ability, which brings the first monster to die back to life.
As the monsters after being resurrected come back with all the armor they had at the start of the match, I thought it was a great idea to hold off the opponent's attacks so that the rest of my team could finish off the rival's monsters.
I expected my opponent to come up with a similar strategy, so I used the summoner Helios Matriarc, which gives me the possibility of putting a Gladiator on the field.
I then selected Flagulon Reine, which has the ability Shatter, which removes all armor from the attacked monster.
It also has Blast, which damages the monsters adjacent to the attacked monster, just like Riverboat Captain and Chaos Dragon, which were chosen to complete my team.
My opponent came up with a slightly different strategy. He used the same summoner, but put the Quora Towershead at the front, and left Agor at the back of the line. This way, he could be healed by the Spirit Hoarder, while Quora can heal herself.
After the end of the second round, the second resurrection had been made on my Agor, and I still hadn't managed to eliminate any of my opponent's monsters.
In the fifth round, my opponent's Quora activated her Bloodlust by eliminating my Oshuur, and my defeat was already underway. There was nothing more my team could do.

My strategy didn't work out the way I wanted it to, because my opponent went beyond my expectations, bringing in several monsters that didn't just have magic attack, as well as focusing on strong healing, both through Triage, which is used for the back line, and Heal, self-healing that many have.
This point is extremely important, because even though the monster I had Triaged is weak in terms of attributes, the healing made all the difference to my opponent's ability to defeat me.
I also failed to look for other card options to choose from, instead of just focusing on Splinter Water, as well as not having more relevant cards available for this type of ruleset.
