SPLINTERLANDS - TALES FROM SILVER & COMBO TO COUNTER MYLOR
I am very excited about today's evening, so I decided to write my article a little bit too soon so I can celebrate New year's Eve with family and friends! So I tried to think of a way to promote the game and to be an interesting topic. So I thought what is the best gift I can give to the community and I concluded that all I want for Christmas is to beat Mylor Crowling!

Because this post has the purpose to promote the game, I will try to explain what is this crypto game with a few words! If you are familiar with the game skip this part!
So if anyone is new here and doesn't know what the game is about let me explain to you. Splinterlands is a play to earn a game in the NFT world. The game operates in the Hive blockchain and it is a trading game genre! To put it simply it's a card game that whenever you win you earn DEC (basically the crypto-coin of the game), the more you play and you are going up in the ladder, the more rewards you get! If you want to join and take a taste of the game, you can do that for free but if you want to start earning DEC and grind for NFT cards and more rewards you must buy the Summoner's Spellbook. I totally recommend starting your journey today and to help you with that we are going to review today my favorite combo for Ranked games!
Let's take it from the start, we should understand what MYLOR does and why it's so annoying especially in lower ranks! Mylor Crowling grants minions the Thorns ability, meaning that when hit with a Melee attack, does (2 melee) damage back to the attacker. So there are plenty of ways to defeat it in higher ranks but because this guide is for players that are new to the game and for the bronze/silver rank we will try to address this Summoner with low budget options! The first thing you think when you encounter Mylor is that the most efficient way to deal with this is to focus on Magic and Range damage. But Earth class has plenty of Monsters to counter Magic attacks, so the best option is to deploy an army of rangers that never fail against thorns!
I am going to showcase the basic cards you are going to need for this combo but you are going to decide what are the best cards base on your Mana Cap each time. So for the summoner, you can use many options such as TYRUS PALADIUM, MOTHER KHALA, LORNA SHINE, etc but the recommended is General Sloan. The first card I recommend is Pelacor Arbalest this card is an absolute beast, with 2 Attack, 2 Speed, 2 Life, and the essential ability of Double Strike (That means that the Monster can attack twice each turn). Pretty op card and with the summoner general lee you could deal 6 damage each turn! For positioning, you should place this Monster at the middle of your formation or at the last places! Next, we are going to review my favorite Monster that is perfect for the last position to protect pelacor!
Air Elemental is one of my favorites cards for a Ranged formation! Because it can attack but most important he can protect! Let's take a look closely at what I mean. This Monster has 2 Attack damage at level 1 but in level 2 it becomes 3, if you can you should rent/buy it at level 3! But the most important trait is his Speed, the impressive 6 speed makes it almost impossible to hit it! So I totally recommend it and you should place it in the last position always! If you have the Odd mana restriction, you should build around this minion! Other cards I used to fill my team are Evangelist, Thunderbird, Peacebringer, Supply Runner, Highland Archer, Silvershield Sheriff, and Hero of Beyond! Other useful information is that you should always place a tank in the front row (I highly recommend Warrior of Peace).
