Splinterlands End of Season Reward and Battles

Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to my blog! It's the end of season once again. In today's post I'll show my rewards, Winterfest updates and featured battles.
Season End

It's been a tough season as the battles were harder to win. I cannot advance further and stayed only in Silver League. As a consolation, I was rank 82 in Silver and got some extra Glint tokens.
I spent all my Glint on Minor Chests. It gives poor odds to get higher rewards but I'm happy to get commons and rare cards.

I was able to get some decent cards though and even included an epic. I'll go through some of them.
Upgrading My Cards
Coral Forged

Coral Forged was upgraded to level three. It was not much of an upgrade though as he just gained an extra armor stat. I've been using him as my main tank to combo with Commander Slade who I use in second position. Coral Forge's Flank ability makes it possible to use two tanks in battles.
Palimpest Prophet

Palimpest Prophet is a Life splinter card. It was upgraded to level three where it gained a speed stat. It's not an impressive upgrade but he moves closer to level four.
Ironwing Juggernaut

Ironwing Juggernaut was upgraded to level three. This is a significant upgrade since he gained the Charge ability. He can now use melee attacks from any position. He's a low mana melee units that can be used in any splinter since he's neutral.
Stonebind Matron

Stonebind Matron was upgraded to level three where it gained another speed stat. It's a very fast unit with five speed stats ensuring that it attacks first in battle. It's speed stat also raises the possibility of it dodging physical attacks.
Grim Bonewhip

Grim Bonewhip is a low mana Death splinter card. It's a second position card because of its Reach ability. Upgrading it to level three gained an important ability. Rust decreases the enemy's armor stat by two, making them easier to defeat.
Winterfest Festival
Winterfest is upon us. Winter skins are now available for purchase in the Glint shop. So far my favorites are the legendary skins but I don't have the cards to use them on.

Winterfest gift boxes are available for purchase. There are several tiers with $5 being the cheapest. There are several goodies contained in the box and it's worth it for the price. For example, these can include spellbooks for users who hasn't purchased one yet. A spellbook cost $10 but with gift boxes, it can be obtained for only half the price!

Featured Battle

The battle features a lineup I don't usually use, a Dragon/Life splinter combo. The ruleset allows us to use one Gladiator card in battle. I had Saltwraith Bulkhead in the tank position. He deals four melee damage and has four speed. He has six armor and nine health on defense. He's a decent tank but he has a debilitation ability, Weary that sets him back. On second position I had Janni Rebel who deals two magic damage. She also has Flank and Inspire abilities. In third position I had the Frontier card, Celestial Guardian. He deals two magic damage and can fly. He is my decoy flyer in case the enemy has a unit with Wingbreak ability. In fourth, I had one of my favorite units in the game, Night Reaper. It deals three magic damage and has great defense. It has both Flying and Wingbreak abilities making it a key card in Earthquake rulesets. For my Gladiator card, I had Larissa Kerato who deals two magic damage and has a Double Strike ability making her a strong damage dealer. In last position I had Kaori Matsune, one of the best reward cards in my opinion.
The enemy also had the Life splinter but had the Frontier archon. It's not a good choice since it buffs the team with armor but I used magic attackers. Among his units was my once favorite Rebellion reward card, Olivia of the Brook with her unique Mimic ability. However, I haven't used her anymore once we transitioned to Conclave Arcana. For his Gladiator, he chose the reliable Captain Katie. A good damage dealer with three magic attack.
My cards dealt more damage and stronger overall. It didn't help that attacks go through armor so the enemy archon's buffs were no use. My Gladiator was also a better damage dealer than the enemy's. It was an easy win for my team.
