Thalgrimore and Sorrow Harvester: The Death Frontier Combo

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog. If you have been playing in the Frontier, you may have noticed that some archons and units found their way in the Modern meta. One of the effective combos I use in the Frontier is Death's Thalgrimore archon and Sorrow Harvester unit. In today's post, we'll briefly check their stats and abilities, how their combo works and I'll show sample battles in Modern mode where I used them effectively.
Thalgrimore

Thalgrimore is the Death archon. Compared to archons in the core set, he is weaker because he needs more mana with six. He also gives less benefit with only one health debuff to the enemy. The advantage of Frontier archons over the core set is their cost. They are so cheap that it's easy for players with low budget to max them at level four and therefore be able to compete at Silver and Gold leagues.
Sorrow Harvester

Sorrow Harvester is an epic Death card. At her max level of three, she deals two magic damage, has one speed and five health. She has the Weaken ability that decrease one health of all enemy units, same as Thalgrimore's debuff. Her stats and ability seem modest compared to epic cards in the Core or Escalation sets. However, this is the power of synergy at play. Even when both cards stats and abilities are less than the other sets counterparts, their effect is great and can win battles if done correctly.
Featured Battle

I had a battle against the legendary archon, Eternal Tofu. It's an archon that grants a lot of buffs and abilities to his units. Plus two health, Thorns and ability to one choice unit of Triage and Scavenger. How can my team possibly beat it with only Frontier archon?
My strategy was to reduce their health and outdamage them at every turn. This is where Thalgrimore and Sorrow Harvester combo comes in. Together they reduce the enemy's health by two even before the start of the round. That's huge since it will only take a few strikes to defeat an enemy. In this battle, all it did was offset the effect of Eternal Tofu's +2 health buff but that is enough. I had three magic units in the team that dealt three damage each turn. Consequently, the enemy didn't have any defense or counters against magic. I also had the Arachne Weaver in the team with its Corrupted Healing ability sustaining them.
The enemy had a powerful tank supported by a unit with Tank Heal ability. His damage dealers were weak, having attack stats of only one or two. Inspite the strength of his tank and healing provided by support, its healing cannot keep up with the damage dealt by my units. Once the enemy tank got defeated, his backline units soon followed.

That combination got a high win rate. Even in the frontier battle grounds.
Amazing that the combo is still effective in Modern where they face stronger cards.
True. Its a good debuff combination for lessening the health of opponents team
