Japanese crypto firm ‘Whalefin" acquired by SONY PLC
Sony company is a Japanese tech giant and it is gearing up to run a cryptocurrency exchange business through acquired firm Whalefin. This firm was acquired in 2023 by Sony. With this, Sony company will find itself facing tough situations in the Web 3.0 domain, the thing is it is not only full of financial risks but also regulatory scrutiny around the globe.
Sony company plans to relaunch the crypto exchange by launching a new application dedicated to cryptocurrency exchange and also crypto trading services. It is unclear whether the old name Whalefin will remain the name of this cryptocurrency exchange or Sony company will change it to start its new beginning.
The company Amber Group announced the launch of Whalefin in December 2021 as its flagship digital asset platform. Sony company’s Quetta Web unit purchased Amber Japan, In August 2023, and you know it was Whalefin firm’s parent company at the time.
This was the Japanese company's name was Amber Japan and it was the parent company made an official announcement about being rebranded as S.Blox On Monday, July 1, Along with this announcement, S.Blox also revealed that the Whalefin cryptocurrency exchange is set to begin operations once again.
Now it is good that Sony is working on it and soon they will relaunch it for the users and you know sony is reputed company and famous all around the world so that is why we can expect something positive from this news
