Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Battle Challenge! (Holy Protection)

I love the idea that the Weekly Battle Challenge changed instead of featuring a monster to represent a ruleset. It is so good to do something different than usual and I hope they will continually do this in the future. The best way would be to mix these challenges, so every week would be more interesting.

This week we need to show a ruleset, which is the Holy Protection and the way I used it to my (dis)advantage in the Battle I played. 😇

My only problem with this new system is that it is very difficult to do battles with the specific ruleset featured for the week challenge, because it is random what you are going to get and even if you have that ruleset you need to win it somehow, which is not always easy. 😏

The Divine Shield will be re-applied when a unit is Resurrected and the Blast damage will remove the Divine Shield.

This ruleset is a very powerful one, because it allows the monsters on the battlefield to block a full attack and it doesn't matter how much the damage was. It also blocks the strongest attack type in the game as well, which is the Magic.

Using this ruleset it is very important to use the low mana "filler" monsters, because even thought they don't do much on the battlefield they will block two attacks of any type, which is amazing.

Resurrecting back a monster will reapply the Divine Shield as well, so it is important to bring a monster with the Resurrect ability, because it might change the outcome of the battle entirely.

RulesetDescription
Melee MayhemMelee attack Monsters can attack from any position.
Holy ProtectionAll Monsters have the Divine Shield ability.
Heavy HittersAll Monsters have the Knock Out ability.

The mana cap was 54, which is my favorite, because it allows me to use all the strong monsters from the choosen Splinter. if the mana cap is high I always try to choose the Dragon Splinter, because they have the strongest and badass monsters in the entire game.

The Fire and Earth Splinter is also a good alternative, because the Melee Mayhem ruleset will allow to use Tarsa and her Melee attack monsters or pick up the Obsidian who gives +1 Magic attack to all of her creatures. 😁

Summoner
Quix the Devious

Quix the Devious is a Dragon Summoner and he is quite good here, because he gives -1 Ranged attack and Health debuff which is always nice. He also allows me to use the best monsters in the game! 😁

Main Tank
Djinn Chwala

The Djinn Chwala cost 8 mana, which is perfect for a high mana ruleset. Apart from that he has huge Health and Armor to sustain a lot of damage and the Thorns ability will make hard for any enemy Melee attack creature life.

I am playing in Gold League most of the times, so it is very important for me to hire a Level 5 Djinn Chwala for my battles, because he will receive +1 Attack damage and more importantly the Enrage ability, which will increase his Melee attack and Speed when damaged using a 1,5x multiplier. 😊

The Reacher
Carnage Titan

The Carnage Titan is one of my favorite creature, because he has Reach, which allows him to attack from the second position. The Double Strike letting him to attack twice in every round and from Level 3 he receives the Shield ability, which will reduce the Melee and Ranged attacks by half and making him a perfect Off-Tank. He also has a lot of Armor as well, which makes him very resilient against the incoming attacks. 😇

Damage Dealer Grundzilla
Grund

Grund is an EPIC Melee attack monster with a unique Double Strike ability on Level 1. This means that he will attack twice in every round if he is able to. Usually I rent him on Level 4, where he would receive the Trample ability, which means when a monster with Trample hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team.

So if you are lucky and you will kill your opponent with Grund he will attack one more time! 😉 On Level 3 he will increase his attack damage as well by one, so it is possible that he can deal 12 damage in one round. 🤗

Protector and Healer
Queen Mycelia

The Queen Mycelia has got 3 amazing ability to support her team. The first is Protect, which will give 2 Armor to all of her friendly monsters. The second is Amplify, which will reflect an extra damage from fellow reflecting monsters. The third is the Triage, which will heal the last friendly monster in the team and all that for the cost of only 4 mana. 😁

Healer and De-buffer
Goblin Psychic

The Goblin Psychic is an amazing Magic attack monster, because he has a lot of useful abilities. The first is Heal, which helps a lot to heal his tanks in the first position. The second is Silence, which is very important against a full Magic team with Obsidian, because he will remove one Magic attack from the enemy monsters. The third of his ability is the Affliction which will switch off the enemy Heal when it is trigerred. (the cahnce for that is 50% on every hit) 😎

Decoy
Mycelic Slipspawn

The Taunt ability is the main reason why I started to use the Mycelic Slipspawn. He can be used in high mana battles to diverse the damage from my opponent to this monster.

On Level 4 the Forcfield makes him to withstand big attacks and reducing them to the minimum of one. It is very handy against strong enemy attacks giving an extra time to my team to deal a lot of damages.

I haven't reached to a League to be able to use a Level 8 Mycelic Slipspawn, but an extra Slow is always good. 😉

My opponent brought the Obsidian with mostly Magic attack monsters, so my Goblin Psychic and his Silence was a good counter against them. 😊

Both of us used the Taunt ability of the Mycelic Slipspawn to divert the damage from the backlines, but my tank and off-tank was unaffected by that and they dealt a series of big punches against his Nectar Queen and they rendered her dead in the second round. His Mycelic Slipspawn also died in the same round, but he still head a lot of Health on the battlefield.

In the third round my team had a huge amount of damage and with the attack of 3 monsters they managed to kill their Runemancer Florre and my Grund is even used his Trample ability to perform another attack on their following monster. 🤗

The very same thing happened in the fourth round when my team killed his Centauri Mage and my Grund got an extra attack again after his killing blow.

This battle was kinda easy, because it is almost impossible to defend yourself against a huge damage output that my team is able to do round per round. 😎
