Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Battle Challenge! (Armored Up)

I love the idea that the Weekly Battle Challenge changed instead of featuring a monster to represent a ruleset. It is so good to do something different than usual and I hope they will continually do this in the future. The best way would be to mix these challenges, so every week would be interesting.
This week we need to show a ruleset, which is the Armored Up and the way I used it to my advantage in the Battle I played. 😇

| All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat. | ![]() |
Hint: Use magic attacks, but the opponent will do the same, so focus on HP. It is countered by the Rust ability or the Wizard of Eastwood's summoner ability. 😉

The Armored Up ruleset gives a huge advantage to Splinters who doesn't have too much protection from their monsters, such as the Fire, Death or Dragons. This tendency started to change recently with the introduction of the new Soulbound monsters, because many of them has Protect and Martyr abilities, which will provide the missing protection you needed. 😊
The other way to counter this ruleset is to play with Magic attack creatures, because the Armor is completely useless against them unless you pair them with the Void Armor ability.

| Ruleset | Description |
|---|---|
| Odd Ones Out | Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles. |
| Heavy Hitters | All Monsters have the Knock Out ability. |
The mana cap was 36 in my next battle, where half of the other Splinters were banned. In this ruleset all the available Splinters are a solid choice, especially because the Fire and Death element would receive a nice layer of protection to their otherwised vulnerable monsters.
I choosed the Life Splinter for myself and the sole reason behin it was the fact that I have rented Grandmaster Rathe who provide the Void Armor ability to all of his monsters. This way I can maximise the use of the Armored Up ruleset, because my monsters will be protected against all kind of attack types. 😁

Grandmaster Rathe

As a legendary summoner Grandmaster Rathe has three abilities to support his monsters. The first is to give +1 Armor to all of his friendly monsters, which will adds up with the +2 from the Armored Up ruleset. 😊
The Void Armor is the main reason that I choosed him, so I can protect my monsters with this ability against the enemy Magic attack monsters as well.
The Amplify ability is useful if you have monsters with abilities that are reflecting back some damage against specific attack types, such as the Thorns against Melee, Return Fire against Ranged and Magic Reflect against (who would have guessed 😅) Magic attacks.

Blinding Reflector

The Blinding Protector is an excellent low mana tank, because he has nice Speed, lot of Health and Armor compare to his mana cost, which is only three. 😁
His only weakness would be the Magic attacks, but he has the Magic Reflect ability, which is an excellent pair with the Void Armor from the Grandmaster Rathe.

Scavo Hireling

The Scavo Hireling cost only three mana as well, but he doesn't have any attack, so his strength is coming from his ability to Repair the most lost Armor in every round on a friendly monster. Apart from this ability he is pretty useless, but in a battle, where all of the monsters has at least +2 Armor his ability could change the outcome of the battle easily. 😎

Stitch Leech

The Stitch Leech cost three mana as well and his main role in this fight to try to get rid of their squishy backline with his Sneak ability. He also has the Life Leech ability, which will increases his own health each time it damages an enemy Monster's Health in proportion to the damage dealt.
Unfortunately he can not steal Health until his target has any Armor, but at least he is well protected as well. 😊

Djinn Renova

The Djinn Renova was part of the previous set of Reward* cards, which means that she was printed out in huge amount. Luckily she is a powerful monster and are able to heal her backline with her Triage ability.
Her Strengthen ability will provide +1 Health to all of her friendly monsters giving them an extra chance of survival against an incoming attack at least as long as she alive. 🤗

Adelade Brightwing

Usually I do not rent her playing with General Sloan, but Adelade Brightwing is a must have with Grandmaster Rathe, because he gives +1 Armor to all of his friendly monsters, so Adelade can use her Repair ability all the time.
The other interesting ability she has is the Resurrect, which means when a friendly Monster dies she will brings back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle, so it is important to not waste it for a small monster. 😉

War pegasus

The War Pegasus is one of the new Soulbound monster and I was lucky enough to get multiple copy of a Gold Foil version of him and I was able to combine them into Level 4. This allows me to use his huge damage, but more importantly his Shatter ability, which makes his target's armor destroyed completely every time he hit his target who has any amount of Armor. 🤣

My opponent brought Tarsa against me, because she wanted to deal as much as damage she can in a shortest amount of time.
Rust is an important ability in the Armored Up ruleset, because it is the perfect counter against it. I was very lucky that my opponent didn't bring a Level 5 Living Lava as a tank, because he is getting Rust on that Level. 🤗
In the first round not much happened, because both sides are well protected with Armor, still I managed to deal significant damage against his Living Lava with my two Magic attack creature. 😁
In the second round I finished off his tank and unfortunately they killed my Blinding Reflector as well. I surprised my opponent, because Adelade brought my tank back to life. He had only one Health, which is not much but he got back his 5 Armor, which gave him a lot of time to sustain more damage. 😇
In the third round I would lose my War Pegasus against their two powerful sneaker creatures, but the two Repairer did their best to give him at least one Armor to block an attack entirely. In the meantime of this Epic fight my opponent lost his Radiated Brute as well. 😉
Even though the Lava Launcher is a pretty strong monster with neat abilities he didn't have too much chance against my monsters whom are constantly repaired my Armors to stall the time until my damage dealers will finish the job killing the rest of their monsters. 🎉💪🤗
