ALLIANCE OF DRAGONS AND HUMONOIDS - (Weekly Battle Challenge for Dragon Element)

Dragon element is the most powerful faction in Splinterlands, their power is not only comprised of dragons but the faction consists of many other races that help them in battles and make this faction stand out from others.

The most trusted allies of dragons are humanoids, many dragons allow them to control some of the best dragons, in return humanoids love them and take good care of their dragon friends.

Humanoid allies develop special skills, both sorcerers and fighters prepare battle plans and use dragons wisely to turn the tide of battle outcomes. Mostly, humanoids support dragons from backlines. They heal wounded dragons, repair their broken armor, and buff them with abilities and additional stats.

The alliance between dragons and humanoids is very strategic and strong, they respect each other and live side-by-side in every situation. We see an example of their alliance in this weekly battle challenge.

BATTLE LINEUP

My battle lineup contains 3 dragon units and 3 Neutral units, while sorcery is performed by Brighton Bloom.

RULESET

STRATEGY

My strategy is to use the Taunt monster for dual damage and bear all incoming damage to himself while reducing the damage of the enemy's melee monsters by 1 point. This way my backline monsters will become safe, and destroy my opponent's monsters without any hassle.

Brighton Bloom is silent in this battle, he is only used to summon dragons.

Agor Longtail has always performed as a formidable tank unit that takes all the enemy damages to himself using his Taunt skill, while magic attacks hit his armor first because of Void Armor ability. Due to his enormous size, Agor possesses a nice amount of health and armor and can easily evade some melee and ranged attacks with his Flying ability.

Runic Skyclaw is also a flying dragon unit, she has a Snipe ability and attacks magic and ranged monsters, but not in 1st position. She has a powerful ranged attack, she is used to eliminating backline magic and ranged monsters. She is used in 2nd position just in case Agor dies early and with her nice speed and Flying ability, she can evade a lot of attacks.

Rune Crafter sits in the 3rd position, he has Fury ability, and he is used to doing double damage to Taunt monsters, but in this battle, there was no Taunt monster in the opponent's lineup.

Scavo Technomancer is placed in 4th position, he has low damage, but with his Blast ability, he can do additional damage to monsters adjacent to the target monster.

Dragon Jumper occupies the 5th position and he possesses Opportunity ability. He is a legendary dragon unit and attacks any unit with the lowest health points.

Disintegrator is the last unit in my backline, his job is to reduce melee damage by 1 point. He will only be attacked by stealth units if no Taunt unit exists in the battle.

This is a battle between legends vs. legends because both parties have brought their legendary units and they are fiercely fighting each other for an epic victory. Watch the video to learn how this interesting battle has ended.

BATTLE COMMENTARY

This battle of legends starts without summoners' buff and runs for 5 rounds. Both opponents try their best to dominate the battlefield by sending their strongest units.

Round 1
The summoners are silent and stand still, no word is coming from their mouths, and they can only pray for their teams' victory in their hearts.

Battlefield runes glow and apply Knock Out to all monsters. Disintegrator's vicious gaze on enemy units demoralized them causing them to lose 1 melee attack point.

Enemy units try to weaken Agor Longtail but they fail miserably, but Harklaw, Arachne Thug, and Djinn Muirat lose their armor and some health points.

Round 2
"hehe, hehe, look at my zapper gadget Harklaw, you and Thug are 1 zap away from death." and again he chuckles and says "Die, die, you both die, hehe."

The powerful zap toasts both Harklaw and Arachne Thug, and they both are laid to final rest.

Round 3
Runic Skyclaw hurts Dhampir Stalker, then she whistles, suddenly Dragon Jumper jumps off Agor's back and slits the throat of Stalker, "Job's done, mi lady."

Djinn Muirat is now facing Agor Longtail, he takes a few hits from Agor and bleeds a thick greenish fluid from his wounds.

"Ready, aim, shoot." shouts Rune Crafter and sends Muirat into the eternal lockup."

Agor Longtail lands on the ground after getting exhausted of injuries, suddenly Sand Worm burrows beneath him and clutches his 4 sharp teeth into Agor's chest, then whirls like a drilling rig and comes out from Agor's back. Agor falls to the ground, slowly dying, and says his final words, "Listen Skyclaw, lead my army and be glorious."

Round 4
Runic Skyclaw now stands tall buzzing flames out of her hand cannons, she evades an attack from Silent Sha-vi. Jumper lunges toward Sha-vi giving him some deep cuts, then Rune Crafter shoots a glowing bolt at Sha-vi, the bolt pierces through his neck and sticks to a nearby tree, and Sha-vi hangs like a rope.

Round 5
"Hey yo! Crafter, be ready to take Sand Worm once he is out of the hole, follow my attack.", as Worm comes out, Jumper drops on his back, impales a blade into Worm's back, and slides down his tail. Then Rune Crafter activates his runic bolt and fires into Worm's mouth ripping him into two halves.

STRATEGY OUTCOME ANALYSIS

The battle was outstanding with a loss of 1 monster, but that strategy worked quite perfectly. If we see the battle stats closely, the main 3 reasons for the win are Speed, Armor, and proper selection of backline monsters.

Agor Longtail evaded a lot of heavy attacks due to Flying and Speed, while his armor took all types of damage because of Void Armor. Meanwhile, the backline team with Snipe and Opportunity abilities weakened enemy monsters. Reducing the enemy monsters' melee attacks also proved useful, it helped Agor stay in the battle for 3 rounds, and then there were only 2 monsters to fight against.

I think the strategy was perfectly executed, 1 loss is fine, although I needed more speed to evade using any good monster with Swiftness, or it could be slowed using Slow monster in that battle. I should also replace Rune Crafter with someone having Stun ability such as Uloth Dhampir.

Overall, it was an amazing battle using all high hitters and fighting against an opponent having powerful monsters who had total damage more than my monsters. I like dragons and I always will.
