ANTOID PLATOON A TINY TERROR TANK (Weekly Battle Challenge)

Fearsome fire units of Splinterlands spread over a large variety of species including insects. Most notable of them are spiders, ants, and beetles.

These smallest creatures become strong and fierce adversaries when they are magically imbued with fire and adapt to the fire ecological system to gain special abilities and flaming hot attacks.

Antoid Platoon is bringing its horrible mandibles to pierce and rip enemies' lines in this weekly challenge.

LORE

Antoid units are typically larger and more intelligent than their smallest counterparts, and a fully grown antoid usually looks bigger than a human hand. Each Antoid Platoon is assembled with 5 to 7 heavily armored antoids, those become protectors of the colony and are ready to charge when they feel any alarming situation.

ANTOID PLATOON CARD SKILLS AND ABILITIES

CARD LEVEL SHEET

This card consumes 4 mana and initially starts with 1 Speed, 1 Attack, 2 Armor, and 3 health. At level 10 it becomes a compelling card with 2 Speed, 3 Attack, 3 Armor, and 5 Health.

Special Abilities
The card has "Shield" ability from level 1 which reduces melee and ranged attacks' damage.

At level 6 the card gains another ability known as "Scavenger" which adds 1 health after any monster dies in the battle.

BATTLE LINEUP

STRATEGY
My strategy for the battle was simple to have more attacks using low mana cards and give Tenyii Striker more chances to attack the backline.

Tarsa adds 1 health and 1 attack to all melee cards, which makes my cards more strong and stays longer in the battle.

Radiated Scorcher becomes a bait card, which consumes damage from Antoid Platoon and Serpentine Spy, this strategy helped Tenyii to destroy the enemy backline successfully.

My Antoid Platoon comes after Radiated Scorcher dies, and it strikes first at the opponent's Antoid Platoon making him weak already to win the battle.

BATTLE COMMENTARY

Both teams are using Tarsa as a summoner, these powerful witches cast boost magic over their allies which adds +1 Attack and +1 Health.

Round 1
As a sacrificial lamb, Radiated Scorcher is removed by Serpentine Spy because of his swift speed and opportunity-seeking skills.

Tenyii Striker mercilessly attacks Fire Elemental with his Katana sword, dispatching her to the depths of hell forever.

At the end of the round, both Antoid Platoons are facing each other, clasping their mandibles, and brandishing their weapons to scare the opponent's units.

Round 2
Serpentine Spy consumes his opportunistic attack on Xenith Archer equalizing both opponents with 2 units fighting for their survival.

Tenyii Striker yells at Serpentine Spy "Don't fear death, my sword strike is painless, here it comes to an end you, filthy Spy.", no one is able to observe how Tenyii's strike ripped Spy in two halves.

Round 3
Antoid Platoons of either side are trying to weaken each other, but hope diminishes after Serpentine Spy was destroyed by Tanyii. There are now 2 antoids remaining in the enemy's lineup.

Round 4
A collective scream by Antoid Platoon has heard "The colony is ours, long live the queen.", as they finish screaming, Tanyii strike twice on their unarmored abdomens, slicing them in half again.

Tarsa laughs wickedly and says "Glory to our fire kingdom."

Tell us about your lineup.

As mentioned in the strategy, I planned to add more low mana units and provide more attacks, while using some cards as bait to waste the opponent's attacks on them. Details are also provided in the strategy section above.

Explain why you put each card in that position and why they are a good fit with ANTOID PLATOON.

The idea is to win the battle using some bait cards and giving Tenyii Striker chances to keep destroying the backline round by round. Scorcher did well as bait being first in line, then Antoid platoon help its position till the end with Shield in force. Tenyii Striker did an amazing job removing major backline attackers, and finally, Xenith Archer became another useful bait.

Did your strategy work?

Yes, of course, it did work as planned and finally, a win came through.

What will you try differently next time?

I'll think of trying an armor buff or a tank healer to consume more enemy hits on my team.

Do you like ANTOID PLATOON? Why or why not?

They are truly some tough balls to be added in low mana battles as tanks. They are good at having no effect from single melee or ranged attacks. There are prone to magic damage, take good precaustions when fighting an opponent with magic attacks.
