DRAGONS SPEED RUN BATTLE (Weekly Battle Challenge)

avatar

Dragons came to Splinterlands from different places, some slipped out of the rifts, some ascended from the depths of the earth, and some descended from Pocket Dimensions.

To create havoc, these creatures assembled a faction where they gathered ruthless and agile fighters from races of humans, goblins, snakes, and djinns. It made them more powerful conquerors in various parts of Splinterlands.

Their dominance is now making an example whenever they win a battle against any race with their intelligence and strategic tactics without sending their gigantic dragons. Dragons are now known for their wisdom and battle knowledge rather than just size.

STRATEGY

I aim to reduce the opponent's speed and allow my units to attack them first in the battle, and with less speed of the opponent's unit, I can increase their chances of missing the hits.

I use Quix The Devious as summoner and Creeping Ooze to steal their 2 units of Speed.

I put Dhampir Infiltrator 2nd in the line to twice hit enemy Death units with her Double-Strike ability.

GoldSilent Sha-vi comes with 4 Speed and 3 Attack at level 3, and he can also sneak attack and destroy the backline.

Carrion Shade is used as bait for sneak attackers, this will help me to protect Silent Sha-vi.

BATTLE COMMENTARY

The battle consists of 3 Rounds, it finished quicker than expected, but it has shown me the magic of killing the speed of enemy units.

Round 1
Quix The Devious throws the knife in the air and his eye glimmers, Death units see a splash of light, they are all blinded and lose 1 Speed, then Creeping Ozze throws up on them a slimy and sticky fluid, which further reduces their speed.

Thaddius Brood raises her staff and throws a curse on Dragon units making them lose 1 Health.

Silent Sha-vi is ready like an arrow in the bow, he jumps on his kin, another Sha-vi, and injects him with a lethal dose of venom, immediately Dhampir Infiltrator appears behind Sha-vi and severs his head with her two sharp blades.

Death Elemental snipes on Creeping Ooze with a blasting magic ball, he melts like the butter on a frying pan.

Djinn Chwala does nice damage to Cursed Windeku driving him crazy and angry. Undead Badger sees a good opportunity and executes several bites on Carrion Shade's neck, he could not survive the attack.

Round 2
Sha-vi once again silently slithers and sneaks upon Undead Badger, he fills up Undead Badger with neurotoxic fluid, which paralyzes him, and then he rolls up around the badger and breaks all his bones.

Death Elemental does not expect any attack from behind, but a valiant assassin, Dhampir Infiltrator, pierces her finely sharpened blades in his back and after ripping through the spine cuts off his animated life source.

Windeku is on the verge of a collapse as Chwala has pounded his head with his cannon-sized Morningstar.

Round 3
Speedy Sha-vi makes a very quick flight, no one ever notices what he just did, Carrion Shade just falls to the ground lifeless.

Djinn Chwala looks at the Windeku with an evil grin **"It's time to send you back to your grave, Windeku, even your hired goon can't do anything now.", as he finishes his words, he stomps Windeku with several heavy blows of the shiv and Morningstar, Windeku looks like a pressed reed on the ground.

Chaos Agent cries and begs for mercy, **"Mercy, what? But there is no such word in the dictionary of Dragons." exclaims Dhampir Infiltrator with an angry tone. She draws her knives, jumps in the air, then drops on the shoulders of Chaos Agent like a spear, then slits his throat, Agent's crying and moaning stop within a few seconds.

The battlefield is full of rotten corpses and blood. Dragon units march forward to conquer more lands.

SPLINTERLANDS QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Tell us about your lineup.

A detailed description of the lineup is provided in the Battle Lineup section above.

Explain why you put each card in that position and why they are a good fit with DRAGONS.

Djinn Chwala is a dangerous tank with 'Thorns' and he has 5 Armor to protect himself from melee and ranged attacks. Dhampir Infiltrator comes on the 2nd number because I don't like to lose that card to sneak attacks at an early stage.

Creeping Ooze sits on 3rd position and helps to reduce the opponent's Speed, if there is no enemy with snipe he could have stayed longer.

Silent Sha-vi is a good fit at 4th position due to 5 Health and 4 Speed, as he might have dodged some hits if attacked with sneak monsters.

Carrion Shade as always is a good bait for sneak monsters and helps backline monsters from being attacked first.

Did your strategy work?

It worked as expected, I would recommend this strategy to fellow players to try this in Bronze and Silver leagues as well.

What will you try differently next time?

It depends on the available mana, but I like to experiment further by removing Silent Sha-vi and adding a 3 mana Life Sapper and a 2 mana Weirding Warrior.

Do you like DRAGONS? Why or why not?

I consider myself a Dragon units fan because their summoners allow me to choose whatever splinter in the battle I like the most. Although some dragon units require a good amount of mana, they are good fighters for 30+ mana battles.
