HOW BLOGGING ABOUT SPLINTERLANDS MADE ME A FORTUNE

avatar

When I purchased the 'Summoner's Spellbook' to participate in Splinterlands' rewarding journey, it also gifted me a free Hive account with Keys. I had charged the account with some delegated HP through http://giftgiver.site which boosted my Resource Credits (RC) to write a few comments and vote for some posts.

It is my saying that "If you want to become a writer, you must become a reader first.", so I started reading user-created content about Splinterlands, and one day I stumbled upon an article titled "Earn Crypto Blogging About Splinterlands!" by @clove71, which inspired me and encouraged me to write about the game and participate regularly in Splinterlands writing contests.

My first Splinterlands post came out on the 15th of April 2022, it was titled as "5-Step Guide for Splinterlands Account Holders to Create Hive Account and Get Free Hive Power for Blogging", it is still a nice step-by-step guide for new Splinterlands players to start there blogging career here on Hive and earn crypto rewards in return, which you may use for growing your Splinterlands account and various other purposes.

I had set up my reward as "100% Power Up" to enhance my RC by having more HIVE power for the first few posts, within 2 weeks, I became self-sufficient in Hive Power and then I changed my post payout setting to "50%-50%" to receive both staked HP and liquid HBD tokens.

Those liquid HBD rewards became a hot cake for me, I used HBD to buy liquid HIVE and in-game Credits, which I utilized for purchasing packs, cards, DEC, and renting cards.

Let's Talk about The Fortune

There is a Latin proverb that literally translates as "Fortune favors the brave", which means that fortune follows those who are determined to achieve something with hard work and dedication.

Hive-Engine is a free world with plenty of opportunities for everyone who likes to be a part of its ecosystem. It is up to the user's discretion how well he is playing his part by creating quality in his work and providing value to the platform and other fellow members.

It is basically a user's work that gets recognition or rejection by the community, the more quality and productive work a user creates, the more he gets the attention of the different communities. It is a very important aspect of being on Hive to provide useful content that favors the community and in return, the community favors you wholeheartedly.

When I started blogging on Hive for Splinterlands content, I always tried to be discreet about my content, I wanted them to be acceptable, value-creating, original, helpful, and productive content. So, when a reader goes through my posts, he should learn something new, I shared them on Web2 social media platforms to spread the knowledge, because we are not here for rewards but we are here for community services also. To grow our community, it is also our duty to bring more users to this Web3 platform and find a new rewarding journey, this is the way to become strong by reaching out to like-minded people using other social media platforms.

Let's Talk about The Fortune Favors

I don't write too much here and there, I just focus on Splinterlands content and mostly write 2 posts per week and love to participate in Splinterlands' Weekly Challenges. You can also be a part of this program by following the @splinterlands account and its community, where you'll find regular game updates and various weekly contests to participate in.

You may participate in any challenge voluntarily, but you can only submit 2 posts per week for Steemonsters curation rewards. And remember that your content should be of good quality because the Splinterlands team is looking for amazing content and will reward you according to your efforts or perhaps no rewards. There is no guarantee for upvote rewards and everything depends on the curators' discretion.

Let's Talk about The Rewards

It has been around 5 months since I have been posting here in Hive-based frontends, I can wholeheartedly say that my biggest chunk of the invested amount in the game has come from regular blogging and participating in Splinterlands challenges.

Now I'll show you how much I have built in the game and out of the game, I'll start from my Hive assets, then I'll take you to the game portfolio and liquidity pools investments.

Hive Assets

I had started from 0 HP, but today I own around 257 HP, and this credit goes to Splinterlands for providing rewarding opportunities for the players to enter the weekly challenges and contests.

I have around $21 worth of HBD and some 32 Hive tokens as liquid assets for ready use, which I have kept for upcoming Riftwatchers Packs.

The estimated value of my wallet is around $181.5, this value goes up and down as I move or use liquid tokens for utilization in the game of local DEX's.

In the above image, you can see some tokenized assets worth around $17.5. I have also some SPT tokens in staking which I use for curating https://Splintertalk.io posts.

I have managed to accumulate $75 worth of Splinterlands cards, but this amount keeps fluctuating based on the market volatility and low/high demand for the cards.

I have put some 359.4 SPS in staking which helps me slowly earn some more SPS based on the variable APR. The approximate USD value stands as $21.22 including liquid SPS.

These are some 4166 DEC tokens in the game and Hive wallet, which I use for purchasing packs, cards, or even renting cards.

If you like to learn more about liquidity pools, I have written a very easy-to-understand step-by-step guide for beginners, which has all the topics covered to get you started with Splinterlands Liquidity Pools and adding liquidity in TribalDex.com, click here to read the guide.
