NEVER MESS WITH A DRAGON EVER AGAIN - (Weekly Battle Challenge - Dragons)

The Splinterlands Dragons are known to be not just dragons but it is a cabal of many creatures who follow the path of the dragons. It not only contains real dragons, but also encompasses humanoids, Nagas, animals, and many other breeds.

Although dragons are famous for devastation and havoc, usually they remain in their sanctums unless threatened or harmed in any way, which makes them unleash their destructive powers on their foes.

They are a power show in Splinterlands, whenever they venture out of their dwellings, other creatures remain in fear and obedience.

BATTLE LINUP

I have selected all-new dragons from the Riftwatchers edition for the battle lineup.

Battle lineup is given below in the image and a table is showing up monsters' names of both teams:

RULESET

STRATEGY

This is a new strategy with my 2 new dragon cards Agor and Runic from Riftwatchers packs. The success of the strategy was dependent on the evasion from enemy hits and the powerful dual-damage capability of the tank unit which allowed me to maximize the use of provided ruleset.

I used Daria Dragonscale as the summoner to add +1 Attack to Agor Longtail.

Agor Longtail, a mighty dual attack monster, was the leader of this battle. This card is the paragon of evasion because of 3 Speed and Flying Ability, the second benefit is that all monsters will attack this tank because of its "Taunt" ability, and Void Armor ability protects it from direct magic damage to Health instead it hits the armor first. The biggest advantage is that it has 2 different attacks i.e. 2 magic attack and 3 melee attack, which mean a total of 5 +1 damage, +1 is from Daria's buff.

Runic Skyclaw on 2nd position with 3 Ranged attack takes care of non-melee units, it just removed Ranged units within 2 rounds doing additional blast damage to adjacent units.

Creeping Ooze is a support unit, that slowed all enemy units with -1 Speed providing Agor with more evasion chances.

BATTLE COMMENTARY

This battle spans 4 rounds, my 3 units are facing 6 powerful Fire units, but the evasion does the magic in this battle between Dragons and Fire units.

Round 1
Tarsa buffs melee weapons with a +1 attack and also enhances her party's Health by 1 point. Daria Dragonscale sharpens Agor's claws adding +1 Attack to him.

Runic Skyclaw takes the advantage of the speed and shoots 2 raging beams on Lava Spider and also damages Xenith Archer and Tenyii Striker.

Agor Longtail rips Living Lava's armor and wounds him badly, the wrecking roar also kills one of the antoids in Platoon. Agor misses 3 attacks but somehow Striker and Lava find a way to shatter his armor.

Round 2
"Hrrrr! In the name of the forefathers, death be your destiny." so says the valiant Skyclaw, Xenith Archer and Lava Spider are now soulless corpses.

Agor is about to kill Living Lava, but his shield saves him this time, Antoid platoon further loses a few more ants because of the thunderous roar of Agor.

Striker and Spy manage to damage Agor and shrapnel from the blast injuring Skyclaw very badly.

Round 3
Skyclaw yells at Living Lava "I know my fate, but yours is already sealed, die, you foul bastard.", this time her laser beams pass through Living Lava's chest, his heart bursts inside and he turns into a statue of goo.

"My roar is enough for you tiny little insects." Agor roars so loudly and Antoids scatter in tiny fragments here and there, then he stabs his claws into Serpentine Spy's belly and lifts him in the air, "Striker, you're next."

Unfortunate things happen in the battle, Striker's blasting damage takes away the life of Runic Skyclass sending her back into voids.

Round 4
Agor Longtail raises his wings "Never mess with a dragon ever again.", a gush of fire comes out of Agor's fiery mouth burning Tenyii Striker into ashes.

Explain why you put each card in that position and why they are a good fit with DRAGONS.

I knew that Agor had a good probability of evading attacks, so I used him as a tank and placed Skyclaw on second to clear up ranged, magic, or no attack units first in the opponent's backline. The blast ability given by the ruleset made it easy to do additional +2 damage to adjacent monsters.

Creeping Ooze in the last position slowed down enemies and gave a good advantage to Agor to keep evading and killing his opponents.

Did your strategy work?

Yes of course it did, but I give credit to Agor's Flying and Ooze's Slow abilities that made it easier for the team to win.

What will you try differently next time?

I should try replacing Runic Skyclaw and add 2 or 3 low mana units who could heal the dragon and provide armor repair.

Do you like DRAGONS? Why or why not?

Indeed, this is my favorite faction and most of my battles are played with Dragon units. I really like them because of their strength and ability to combine with other elements.
