Diving into the new card series called Rebellion from Splinterlands inspired me to create this aquatic being, a fearless guardian of the underwater kingdom. Imagine a fish-tailed newt with a human body, determinedly wielding a trident, ready to defend and protect his aquatic kingdom.
Exploring the creative possibilities and merging the Simpsons style with the essence of this character has been an exciting and rewarding challenge. I hope you enjoy watching this unique interpretation of Mar Toren Seeker as much as I did.

Sumergirse en la serie de cartas nuevas llamadas Rebellion de Splinterlands me inspiró a crear a este ser acuático, un intrépido guardián del reino submarino. Imaginen a un tritón con cola de pez y cuerpo humano, empuñando con determinación un tridente, listo para defender y proteger su reino acuático.
Explorar las posibilidades creativas y fusionar el estilo de los Simpsons con la esencia de este personaje ha sido un desafío emocionante y gratificante. Espero que disfruten tanto como yo al ver esta interpretación única de Mar Toren Seeker.

The Kingdom of Mar Toren submitted to Silus of the Rift following the Chaos Empire’s conquest of the Splinterlands, but as long as the aquatic kingdom pays their taxes, the legions of Chaos mostly leave it to its own devices. The Empire’s kalamenties are occupied enough with the logistics of tyrannizing their terrestrial dominions, especially now, with acts of defiance growing more frequent by the day.
El Reino de Mar Toren se sometió a Silus de la Grieta tras la conquista de las Tierras Esparcidas por el Imperio del Caos, pero mientras el reino acuático pague sus impuestos, las legiones del Caos lo abandonan a su suerte. Los kalamenties del Imperio ya están bastante ocupados con la logística de tiranizar sus dominios terrestres, sobre todo ahora, que los actos de rebeldía son cada día más frecuentes..
Process / Proceso
Starting with the sketch was exciting, tracing the main lines that would define the figure of the Toren Seeker Sea. I focused on capturing his friendly attitude and his imposing trident as he smiled underwater.
Then, the outlining was crucial to define the details of the character and the trident, bringing them to life with precise strokes that highlighted his form and expression.
The coloring was a vibrant stage; I chose aquatic tones that evoked the depth of the ocean, combining blues, greens and turquoises for the bottom of the sea. The corals and algae took shape, bringing texture and color to the environment.
Applying shadows was key to giving dimension to the Toren Seeker Sea, playing with the lights and shadows underwater to enhance its features and the trident. Soft shadows added depth and realism to the underwater scene.
Finally, adding strategic glows in the drawing provided that final touch of life and movement. The sparkles in the water and on the trident highlighted the magical atmosphere of the seabed, adding a touch of charm and dynamism to the character.
This creative process allowed me to merge the magic of the underwater world with the unique character of the Toren Seeker Sea, creating a scene that I hope inspires the same emotion I felt in bringing this illustration to life.
Comenzar con el boceto fue emocionante, trazando las líneas principales que definirían la figura del Mar Toren Seeker. Me centré en capturar su actitud amigable y su tridente imponente mientras sonreía bajo el agua.
Luego, el delineado fue crucial para definir los detalles del personaje y del tridente, dándoles vida con trazos precisos que resaltaran su forma y expresión.
El coloreado fue una etapa vibrante; elegí tonos acuáticos que evocaran la profundidad del océano, combinando azules, verdes y turquesas para el fondo del mar. Los corales y algas se fueron tomando forma, aportando textura y color al entorno.
Aplicar sombras fue clave para dar dimensión al Mar Toren Seeker, jugando con las luces y sombras bajo el agua para realzar sus rasgos y el tridente. Las sombras suaves añadieron profundidad y realismo a la escena submarina.
Finalmente, agregar brillos estratégicos en el dibujo proporcionó ese toque final de vida y movimiento. Los destellos en el agua y en el tridente resaltaron la atmósfera mágica del fondo marino, añadiendo un toque de encanto y dinamismo al personaje.
Este proceso creativo me permitió fusionar la magia del mundo submarino con el carácter único del Mar Toren Seeker, creando una escena que espero inspire la misma emoción que sentí al darle vida a esta ilustración.
