Sea Genie Animated Style

It all started with an idea: I wanted to make a fan art of the character "Sea Genie" from splinterlands. I'm fascinated by the world of fantasy and magic it has, and the Sea Genie is one of the characters that most attracts my attention. So I started looking for images and information about him, to get inspired and get to know him better.

Once I had a clear idea of what the Genie looked like, I opened my digital drawing program. I started to make a freehand drawing on the screen, using a tool that looks like a pencil. It was like sketching on paper, but on the tablet. The drawing gave me an idea of what I wanted the character and the background to look like. I didn't look too much at the details, just the shape and position. I wanted the Genie to come out of his lamp, as if someone had summoned him, and to look surprised and curious about what was around him. I also wanted the background to be a sea cave, with stalactites, to create a mysterious and magical atmosphere.

When I finished the freehand drawing, I created another layer on top of it, and started to go over the drawing with another tool that looks like a brush. It was like painting with a marker pen over the sketch. This way I gave more clarity and precision to the drawing, erasing the lines I didn't like and adding the ones I was missing. I went over all the outline of the character and the background, until it was well defined. I opaque the freehand drawing when I finished it, because I didn't need it anymore.

After making the outline, I created another layer underneath, and started painting the drawing with another tool that looks like a paint bucket. It was like filling in the blanks with colors. That's how I colored the drawing, using the colors I saw in the original character. I used different shades of blue for the Genie, because they are the colors of water and magic. I also used golden tones for the lamp and blue for the cave. I liked how the contrast between the cold and warm colors turned out, because it gave more life to the drawing.

Next, I created another layer on top, and started to put shadows on the drawing. This way I gave more shape and depth to the drawing, putting a darker color in the parts where there is not much light. For example, I put shadows under the hair, the beard, the arms, to make it look more three-dimensional. I also put shadows on the background, to make it look more distant and darker. I made the shadows blend with the color underneath, to make it look more natural.

Finally, I created another layer on top of it, and started to put glows on the drawing. This way I gave more light and contrast to the drawing, putting a lighter color in the parts where there is more light. For example, I put glows on the eyes, on the forehead, on the chest and on the hands of the Genie, to make it look brighter and more luminous. I also put sparkles on the background, to make it look closer and clearer. I made the sparkles show on top of the bottom color, to make it look more spectacular.

And that's how I did my digital drawing of the Sea Genie. It was a fun and creative process, which took me several hours, but it was worth it. I am very proud of my work, and I hope you like it too. If you have any questions or suggestions, don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks for your attention.

Todo empezó con una idea: quería hacer un fan art del personaje "Sea Genie" de splinterlands. Me fascina el mundo de fantasía y magia que tiene, y el Genio del Mar es uno de los personajes que más me llama la atención. Así que me puse a buscar imágenes e información sobre él, para inspirarme y conocerlo mejor.

Una vez que tuve una idea clara de cómo era el Genio, abrí mi programa de dibujo digital. Empecé a hacer un dibujo a mano alzada en la pantalla, usando una herramienta que parece un lápiz. Fue como hacer un boceto en un papel, pero en la tablet. El dibujo me sirvió para tener una idea de cómo quería que fuera el personaje y el fondo. No me fijé mucho en los detalles, solo en la forma y la posición. Quería que el Genio saliera de su lámpara, como si alguien lo hubiera invocado, y que se viera sorprendido y curioso por lo que había a su alrededor. También quería que el fondo fuera una cueva marina, con estalactitas, para crear un ambiente misterioso y mágico.

Cuando terminé el dibujo a mano alzada, creé otra capa encima, y empecé a repasar el dibujo con otra herramienta que parece un pincel. Fue como pintar con un rotulador sobre el boceto. Así le di más claridad y precisión al dibujo, borrando las líneas que no me gustaban y añadiendo las que me faltaban. Repasé todo el contorno del personaje y del fondo, hasta que quedó bien definido. Opaque el dibujo a mano alzada cuando terminé de repasarlo, porque ya no lo necesitaba.

Después de hacer el contorno, creé otra capa debajo, y empecé a pintar el dibujo con otra herramienta que parece un balde de pintura. Fue como rellenar los espacios en blanco con colores. Así le di color al dibujo, usando los colores que vi en el personaje original. Usé diferentes tonos de azul para el Genio, porque son los colores del agua y la magia. También usé tonos dorados para la lámpara y azules para la cueva. Me gustó cómo quedó el contraste entre los colores fríos y los cálidos, porque le dio más vida al dibujo.

A continuación, creé otra capa encima, y empecé a ponerle sombras al dibujo. Así le di más forma y profundidad al dibujo, poniendo un color más oscuro en las partes donde no hay mucha luz. Por ejemplo, le puse sombras debajo del cabello, de la barba, de los brazos, para que se viera más tridimensional. También le puse sombras al fondo, para que se viera más lejano y oscuro. Hice que las sombras se mezclaran con el color de abajo, para que se viera más natural.

Por último, creé otra capa encima, y empecé a ponerle brillos al dibujo. Así le di más luz y contraste al dibujo, poniendo un color más claro en las partes donde hay más luz. Por ejemplo, le puse brillos en los ojos, en la frente, en el pecho y en las manos del Genio, para que se viera más brillante y luminoso. También le puse brillos al fondo, para que se viera más cercano y claro. Hice que los brillos se vieran encima del color de abajo, para que se viera más espectacular.

Y así fue como hice mi dibujo digital del Genio del Mar. Fue un proceso divertido y creativo, que me llevó varias horas, pero que valió la pena.
