Counterspell - All Monsters have the Magic Reflect ability
Earthquake - Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
Mana Cap of 58.
Available Splinters - Fire, Water, Life, Death and Dragon

My Team:

Summoner: Quix the Devious(-1 to all Ranged damage, -1 to Speed)

1. Agor Longtail - Melee and Magic Damage Dealer with the Flying, Taunt and Void Armor abilities
2. Cursed Windeku - Melee Damage Dealer with the Thorns and Heal abilities
3. Void Dragon - Magic Damage Dealer with the Flying and Void abilities
4. Gargoya Devil - Ranged Damage Dealer with the Flying, Close Range and Death Blow abilities
5. Raa - Ranged Damage Dealer with the Flying, Double Strike and Scattershot abilities
6. Runic Skyclaw - Ranged Damage Dealer with the Flying and Snipe abilities

Strategy:

The strategy was to use the rulesets to my advantage and outlast my opponent by having a full team of flying units and Cursed Windeku with the ability to heal itself.

Position 1 - Agor Longtail:

Very high mana consuming tanks, but also one of the best in game. In this high mana match it seemed like a good choice. Usually combined with Resurrection ability-Monsters but for this fight I decided against that because I feared the ones resurrecting might go down first because of the Counterspell ruleset.

Position 2 - Cursed Windeku:

In this fight used as offtank. Can outheal the Earthquake ruleset and has a very high amount of HP for a 6 mana card. The thorns are also nice in case it gets attacked by a melee monster.

Position 3 - Void Dragon:

A little bit of magic damage is always nice and the two abilities perfectly counter the Ruleset.

Position 4 - Gargoya Devil:

Nice damage and the ability to attack in close range. The mana cost is a bit high, but I had exactly 7 mana left so it felt like a good choice.

Position 5 - Raa:

Very high damage with the Double-Strike, the Scattershot makes it a bit of a gamble though. In a high mana ruleset like this one 3+3 possible damage are too good to miss in my opinion.

Position 6 - Runic Skyclaw:

Very fast ranged unit and in combination with its Flying ability a great sneak-counter because of the high chance to dodge most attackers. The 3 Armor and 6 HP also help to survive a few hits in case RNG is not on my side.

Round 1:

lineup.jpg
The opponent decided to blast me with heavy magic and ignore the Counterspell ruleset. Oshannus counters it with Void and Runemancer Kye has lifeleech, so it could work. Agor Longtail manages to survive this round but is heavily damaged.

Round 2:

round2.jpg
After the earthquake took its toll on a few opponent monsters my Agor bites the dust. I also get a bit unlucky on RNG and Cursed Windeku loses the cointoss against my opponent and goes down without a heal or a single attack 😖

Round 3:

round3.jpg
Placing the Void Dragon in the middle was a better choice than I expected. The Void ability combined with the Counterspell ruleset deal some nice damage while keeping the damage on the dragon quite low.

Round 4:

round4.jpg
My opponent probably expected the match to be over by now but the dual tank strategy managed to keep my Ranged Monsters out of harms reach till now. The Earthquake and Counterspell Rulesets kept damaging the opponent so that the rest of my team has no problem taken the rest of the monsters out in this round.

Result:

My outlasting tactic worked. I was worried in the second round when Cursed Windeku bit the dust, but the Void Dragon protected my Ranged Monsters long enough to ensure victory.

Cursed Windeku usually performs better than in this fight, the combination of Heal and Thorns can be very powerful, so I like this card a lot. I just don't have a lot of Deathsplinter cards on gold-level yet, so I don't get to play with it very often.
