Ruleset and line-up:

Fire and Regret - All Monsters have the Return Fire ability
Mana Cap of 38.
Available Splinters - Fire, Earth, Life, Death and Dragon

My Team:

Summoner: Tarsa (+1 to all Melee damage, +1 to Health)

1. Grum Flameblade - Tank, Melee Damage Dealer with the Bloodlust, Void, Void Armor abilities
2. Djinn Apprentice - Magic Damage Dealer
3. Djinn Inferni - Magic Damage Dealer with the Giant Killer ability
4. Spirit Hoarder - Magic Damage Dealer with the Triage and Dispel abilities
5. Ureaus - Melee Damage Dealer with the Sneak and Poison abilities
6. Tenyii Striker - Melee Damage Dealer with the Sneak and Dodge abilities

Strategy:

Pincher attack strategy. Heavy Magic damage on the front and two Sneak attackers to put pressure on the back.

Position 1 - Grum Flameblade:

Great tank but usually has a hard time to hit opponents with the slow speed. But its tanking abilities versus Magic Monster made me choose him.

Position 2 - Djinn Apprentice:

Great damage but easy to kill, so I hope Grum stays alive for more than 1 round.

Position 3 - Djinn Inferni:

Almost like the Djinn Apprentice but with Double damage against High Mana Monsters like Grum.

Position 4 - Spirit Hoarder:

A bit dangerous to use Spirit Hoarder without Armor as it could be taken out easily by Monsters with the Opportunity ability, but with the water Splinter not available at least the Deeplurker is out of the picture.

Position 5 - Ureaus:

Always a great low mana card to play, the Poison ability can be very powerful (if you are lucky enough to proc it)

Position 6 - Tenyii Striker:

Pretty good sneak protection. A decent amount of health so it doesn't die with one hit and a 25% extra dodge chance. In case it does get hit the Spirit Hoarder can use the Triage ability to heal.

Round 1:

lineup.jpg
My opponent chose a very tanky strategy giving a Voidarmor to everyone with Rathe and bringing in Adelaide with the Repair and Resurrection ability. Because of my Sneak attacks Adelaide is forced to bring back the Venari Crystalsmith instead of the tank Uriel and Grum actually managed to hit Uriel so this round was in my favor.

Round 2:

round2.jpg
My Sneak-Monsters decimating the backline while Grum manages to keep my Magic attackers out of harms reach and actually hitting Uriel for the second time.

Round 3:

round3.jpg
The Sneak-Team takes out the Stitch leech and both tanks die which is a pretty good trade of for me.

Round 4:

round4.jpg
Adelaide's repair really is annoying when combined with Rathe, every time I think a monster goes down it blocks the attack with the repaired Armor. But the Sneak-Team take out their third Monster.

Round 5:

round5.jpg
I have too many attackers left so even Adelaide doesn't manage to keep the Time Mage alive and faces a 3v1 in the last round.

Final Round:

Result:

My tactic worked but I think it could have gone different with more misses on my side. Can't believe Grum managed to hit Uriel twice 😀

The Djinn Inferni is a bit of a niche card for me. A bit too glasscannon and too high mana for my taste. But with pretty much every card in the game there are occasions/ruleset where this card fits. A High mana match combined with the equalizer ruleset for example.

Thanks for reading and happy battling!
