Ruleset and line-up:

ruleset.jpg
Super Sneak - All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability
Counter Spell - All Monsters have the Magic reflect ability
Mana Cap of 54.
Available Splinters - Earth, Life and Dragon

My Team:

Summoner: Quix the Devious(-1 to Ranged damage, +1 to Speed)

1. Arkemis the Bear - Tank, Melee Damage Dealer with the Protect, Halving and Forcefield abilities
2. Carnage Titan - Melee Damage Dealer with the Reach, Double Strike and Shield abilities
3. Legionnaire Alvar - Melee Damage Dealer with the Void Armor, Giant Killer and Demoralize abilities
4. Disintegrator - Melee Damage Dealer with the Demoralize ability
5. Ureaus - Melee Damage Dealer with the Sneak and Poison abilities
6. Djinn Chwala - Melee Damage Dealer with the Thorns and Enrage ability

Strategy:

I try to reduce my opponents melee damage to almost nothing by playing 2 Demoralize cards and have those melee monsters take damage when they attack Djinn Chwala in the back. The Range Damage is also reduced because of my summoner Quix. I don't expect much magic damage because of the Counter-Spell ruleset.

Position 1 - Arkemis the Bear:

Great tank with the very rare Halving ability that reduces the not only melee damage but all damage sources when it successfully hits an opponent.

Position 2 - Carnage Titan:

One of the best Offtanks especially when you don't expect much magic damage. The amount of armor and health combined with the Shield ability is huge.

Position 3 - Legionnaire Alvar:

Great card I usually use in the front position, but decided to place him in the middle for various reasons. I don't expect magic attacks, he can attack because of the super sneak ruleset from here and I want to keep the Demoralize ability up for as long as possible

Position 4 - Disintegrator:

My only underleveled card in this match, but I need it for the extra Demoralize.

Position 5 - Ureaus:

Used it mostly because of the poison ability, my only melee team is very weak in case my opponent uses demoralize too, so a chance for some poison damage in a possible battle of atrition seems great.

Position 6 - Djinn Chwala:

By placing Djinn in the back I make sure that every melee Monster that profits from the super sneak ruleset receives some thorn damage in return. In combination with the double demoralize that could be quite powerful.

Round 1:

lineup.jpg
I really didn't expect two magic damage dealers, but at least the Void Dragon makes sense to me as it is immune to the Magic reflect because of the Void ability. The Chaos Dragon on the other hand will kill itself after a maximum 3 rounds. I'm happy to see 4 melee attackers that have their damage reduced to 1. In this round everyone stays alive but the opponent takes some heavy damage.

Round 2:

round2.jpg
The Chaos Dragon managed to hit right into the weakest part of my lineup with its Scattershot but goes down soon after that. and so go three other Monsters of the opponent team.

Round 3:

round3.jpg
Void Dragon and Uriel can maybe dodge a bit with their Flying ability but they can't hide from the
sheer force of my team.

Round 4:

round4.jpg
Poor Uriel faces my complete team while demoralized and halved. Easy to tell that this round will be the end of the match.

Result:

My tactic to go for a melee only team was a bit risky, but it worked out well in this match. I didn't lose any monsters so it is hard to argue against that.

The Legionnaire Alvar is a good addition to any deck. Especially when combined with the resurrect ability its Void Armor ability can be very powerful and decide a match.

Thanks for reading and happy battling!
