Ruleset and line-up:

ruleset.jpg
Equalizer - The initial health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health
Keep your Distance - Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.
Mana Cap of 32.
Available Splinters - Water, Death and Dragon

My Team:

Summoner: Delwyn Dragonscale(+1 to all Magic damage)

1. Void Dragon - Magic Damage Dealer with the Flying and Void ability
2. Djinn Muirat - Magic Damage Dealer with the Void Armor and Knock out abilities
3. Revealer - Magic Damage Dealer with the Stun ability
4. Life Sapper - Magic Damage Dealer with the Life Leech ability
5. Venari Bonesmith - Magic Damage Dealer Life Leech and Poison abilities
6. Naga Assassin - Ranged Damage Dealer with the Backfire ability

Strategy:

Placing 2 Tanks in the front with focus to survive Magic damage. That way the Life Leechers in the back get time more hitpoints turning them into tank-like Monster as well. The +Magic damage summoner buff helps to maximize my damage output to take down the opponent Monsters as fast as possible.

Position 1 - Void Dragon:

Decent Tank with a good chance to dodge physical attacks because of the 5 speed and the Flying ability. The Void ability also cuts every incoming Magic attack in half or resist the damage completely if the opponent attacks with only 1 Magic damage.

Position 2 - Djinn Muirat:

Couldn't really decide which one to put in the front but ended up with the Void Dragon because of the Dodge potential. The Djinn however is a bit more tanky thanks to the Void Armor ability that lets Magic attackers hit the Armor before going for the hitpoints.

Position 3 - Revealer:

The best opponent is one that can't attack! The stun ability of the Revealer has a 50% chance to stun the opponent and the 2 Base Magic damage are great as well.

Position 4 - Life Sapper:

Especially useful in this Equalizer Ruleset that makes the Life Sapper immune to Opportunity attacks because all Monsters start with the same amount of hitpoints. Placed quite far in the back to give him time to Life Leech.

Position 5 - Venari Bonesmith:

Less Magic damage that the Life Sapper on this level, but with the Poison ability, that is the reason I placed this card behind the Life Sapper.

Position 6 - Naga Assassin:

Good card for the back position. With the high speed a good chance to dodge attacks and even damage the attacker while dodging because of the Backfire ability. The Keep your Distance ruleset voids the Sneak ability though, but the fast attackspeed is nice nevertheless.

Round 1:

lineup.jpg
My opponent decided to go for mostly ranged damage and, but apart from the summoner reducing all magic damage by 1 there is no magic protection. Riftwing goes down and my void dragon barely survives thanks to a dodge. The match is going my way.

Round 2:

round2.jpg
My opponent loses 2 damage dealers in this round. Death Elemental dies and the Dark Astronomer forced into the front rendering it useless.

Round 3:

round3.jpg
Dark Astronomer bites the dust and my Djinn Muirat barley survives with 1 HP. Nevertheless the next round starts with 5 vs 3 and a big advantage on my side.

Round 4:

round4.jpg
The Dhampire Stalker is forced into first position and there is just too much HP and damage on my side for any other outcome than me winning this battle.

Last Round:

round6.jpg
The last hit to win the match is actually a poison tick applied by the Venari Bonesmith.

Result:

The strategy worked fine, but my Monsters had higher levels so it wasn't that big of a challenge. It feels like focussing on magic was the better choice compared to ranged anyhow. That would have been different without Delwyn Dragonscale as my summoner though.

I like the Life Sapper or even the Life Leech ability in general. When put in the right position/ruleset and protected by the other Monsters it can be quite the powerful ability.

Thanks for reading and happy battling!
