Hello to all the people belonging to this beautiful community of hive and the wonderful world of Splinterlands, today I come very encouraged and with all the desire in the world to bring you a post about the weekly challenge that offers us this great game Splinterlands, I bring you a good battle where we try to take advantage of the challenge card, I hope you enjoy this publication, let's start!
About the challenge letter
This time for the challenge card we have the monster Soul Strangler belonging to the splinter of death, first I noticed that this monster has no skills and statistically has 2 points of life which I consider to be a weak point of the card because if we face monsters with a lot of attack can kill Soul Strangler easily, despite that has 2 points of speed which is acceptable and 2 points of attack at a distance.
I think the card is good as long as we know how to place it on the battlefield, as for the design seems to me to be very good because the monster looks like an ogre with red eyes and large claws that influence fear to opponents, this appearance is very good for death splinter cards, later we will talk about the influence that this card has in battle.
Rules for the battle
For this battle we have 26 mana points to spend, it is a very good number of mana.
As for the standard rules, they have not been modified which means that any type of splinter and cards are valid.
Analyzing my opponent
In this opportunity we face an opponent who uses water splinter but also combines it with neutral splinter, I could notice that he uses cards with restorative abilities, specifically one restores part of the life of his monster in first line and another one restores the armor of his monster that has received more damage, besides that his monster in first position has more chances to evade melee attacks or ranged attacks.
These skills make me think that my opponent will play in a defensive and patient way, because he will try to regenerate every time he can and attack at the right time to hurt me, it is important to add that he has a card with the ability called Sneak so he can attack my monster in last position and I am sure that my opponent will want to take full advantage of this ability.
Battle formation and statistics of my monsters
Summoner: for this battle I am using the summoner Crypt Mancer, this fearsome dark wizard takes one point of melee attack from all enemy monsters with melee attack, it also takes one point of speed and one point of life from all enemy monsters.
First position: in this position I have put the fearsome monster Cuersed Windeku, the truth is that I have used this monster in this position in many battles and it has served me perfectly taking full advantage of its ability when hit with a melee attack it returns the damage to the enemy, in terms of statistics it has 9 points of life, 3 points of speed and 2 points of melee attack.
Second position: here we find the tenebrous snake Silent Sha-Vi which has the ability called Sneak that allows it to attack the enemy monster in the last position. Statistically it has 5 points of life, 3 points of speed and 2 points of melee attack.
Third position: in this position I have decided to put the challenge card Soul Strangler, which as I mentioned above has no skills, however it has 2 health points, 2 speed points and 2 melee attack points, I think that by putting it in third position I can take advantage of its ranged attack.
Fourth position: in this position we find the Dark Astronomer monster, this dark astronomer has no skill but has very good stats because it has 4 health points, one point of speed and two points of ranged attack.
Fifth position: in this last position we have the monster Crypt Betlee, this fearsome insect-like monster has the ability called Shield, an ability that reduces the damage of melee attacks and ranged attacks. Besides that, statistically it has 2 health points, one speed point, one melee attack point and one armor point.
My winning strategy
According to the analysis previously made to my opponent I know that my opponent will want to take advantage of the Sneak ability of one of his monsters called Eraeus and attack my monster in last position, that is why I decided to put Crypt Betlee in last position because thanks to his ability will reduce the damage of Eraeus that having a melee attack of a single point of damage his attack will be insignificant against my monster Crypt Betlee, thus I will have his monster Eraeus distracted throughout the battle trying to finish with Crypt Betlee.
On the other hand, I could notice that my opponent has monsters with only melee attack, thanks to this I managed to get a good advantage to my summoner because all his monsters will have a reduced melee attack damage, And this is not all because as my opponent has only monsters with these characteristics I decided to put Cuersed Windeku in first position so I can take full advantage of his ability and every melee attack that Cursed Windeku receives will return the damage to my opponent, wearing him down little by little every time he attacks, making the job easier for my other monsters so they can kill my opponent quickly and effectively leading me to victory.
Battle execution
The battle comes into action and my summoner does his thing as planned, he reduces the attack, speed and life to all the rival monsters, my strategy works perfectly because his monster Eraeus attacks my monster Crypt Betlee and he uses his ability so that the damage received is insignificant, on the other hand Cursed Windeku is responsible for wearing down the other monsters because he has received most of the attacks to be in the first position.
Unfortunately one of his monsters has the ability to attack my monster with less life points which in this case is Soul Strangler and having only two life points did not resist the attack and ended up dead, but in round two I managed to take the lead because Cursed Windeku is attacked by the enemy monster of the first position and this receives damage to itself thanks to the ability of Cursed that then attacks again to finish off this enemy monster.
Later Cursed Windeku is left with two points of life and is attacked by an enemy monster that has an attack of two points of damage but also has two points of life, which means that both monsters die instantly thanks to the ability of Cursed Windeku, after this my monsters finish with the rival monsters giving me the victory, fulfilling the strategy as planned.
Did the strategy work?
Indeed my strategy worked as planned, in fact positioning Cursed Windeku in the first position was key in the battle, because thanks to his ability he managed to kill two enemy monsters and also wore out the other monsters that because of this did not hold the last rounds because they had very few life points, on the other hand my monster Crypt Betlee did his job efficiently and distracted his monster Eraeus during the battle.
How did the challenge card influence the battle?
In this case Soul Strangler had a good start in the first round, he managed to damage the enemy monster in the first position, however to our misfortune my opponent had a monster with a very good ability to attack one of my monsters with less life points in any position, which was the doom for Soul Strangler in the battle since he only had two life points.
It didn't matter in which position I placed Soul Strangler, because it would be finished in the same way, in itself the card is very good but one of its weaknesses is its few health points that make it very vulnerable against monsters with a lot of attack as we have seen in the battle, despite having the bad luck to play against a monster with that ability that ended Soul Strangler, I think this card can be very well used in the battlefield.
