The Scavo Firebolt

The Scavo Firebolt is a rare, fire unit from the Chaos Legion edition. This is a starter card which means that it is available for everyone to use in-game. From here on out, this card will be referred to as Firebolt or the Firebolt.

There are a couple of key levels for this card that ought to be taken into consideration. First, is level one, as everyone can play this card at this level. At this level, the Firebolt has a base of two range attack, two speed, and four health.

The next important level to consider is level six. At this level, the Firebolt gains Knock Out allowing it to deal double damage against stunned targets. At level six the stats are boosted to three range attack, four speed, and five health. Against a stunned target, the Firebolt can hit for up to six damage.

Finally, for those playing at the highest level, it is important to know about the max level stats of this card. As shown above, at max level, the Firebolt has retained its knockout ability and has four ranged attack, four speed and six health. The Firebolt now has the potential to deal up to eight damage per attack in the right conditions.

It is important to note that these stats are based on the card alone and do not take into the effects of summoners such as Tarsa or Pyre, or the effects caused by other units such as level five Flame Imp that would increase the speed of the Firebolt due to its swiftness ability. For information on the changes occurring from one level to the next, there is a table included above.

The Knock Out and Stun Abilities

As noted above, the Firebolt gains the Knock Out ability at level six, an ability that works in tandem with the Stun ability. Remember, without Stun, Knock Out is useless.

The Stun ability works by giving those with the ability the chance to stun the target. This is not a guaranteed chance. It could happen every turn or it might not activate at all.

Unless I am mistaken and feel free to correct me if I am, the only card that starts with Stun at level one is the Alpha/Beta Pit Ogre card.

For those who are interested, I have included a simple table below that sets out each of the cards that have the Stun ability and the level that which they gain this ability. Given that the main theme of this post is the Scavo Firebolt, the cards included belonging only to the Fire, the Neutral or the Dragon Splinters. These cards have been ordered from cheapest to most expensive to purchase a single copy of the card according to Monstermarket as of the time of writing this post.

Example Battle - Dragon and Fire

The above image is a link to the battle for those who wish to watch the battle in its entirety. This was a 50 mana battle with the rule modifiers of unprotected and explosive weaponry.

This battle took place around 2000 rating and in the Silver league. With that in mind, it is important to note that some of the cards used here cards in this battle require either a rental or purchase and might not be useful to everyone.

Byzantine Kitty was the summoner used in this game. The speed boost would ensure that I was more likely to attack sooner than my opponent and true strike to ensure that they would not miss their attacks. The cards were chosen specifically to finish the battle as quickly as possible.

Living lava makes for an excellent, front-line, fire tank. The card puts out solid damage and the Shield ability reduces the damage taken. Although it is slow, Kitty does bring it up to speed.

Carnage Titan took the second slot. With Kitty, this card has five speed and two attacks, each dealing two damage to the first unit yet and one damage to those caught in the blast range This can be a significant source of damage.

Tenyii Stiker and Sandworm took slots three and four. Both these targets the backline and can put out a significant amount of damage between them.

The fifth slot was taken up by the one and only Scavo firebolt. Although it did not get to survive, it did get to deal some damage and managed to soak up two attacks in the process. This allowed some of the harder-hitting units to survive, allowing for an early-round to win. Additionally, this was the cheapest card played mana wise this game which allowed for some of the more costly cards to make an appearance.

The six-slot was taken up by the Djinn Apprentice. This is also a fairly cheap card with decent health and high speed. This allowed for it to make an early attack to soften up enemy monsters and survive to attack again in round two.

.

Concluding Remarks

The Scavo Firebolt is a balanced card overall in my opinion. For only four cost, it has high health and speed when compared to the mana costs of some of the other monsters out there.
