Luckless's Journal - New Beginnings (Jan. 20, 2022)
Hello all. Recently, I begun a new account in Splinterlands on January 5, 2022. That account goes by Luckless. My main account goes by the name of Luckbound. It can be found on Peakd here --> https://peakd.com/@luckbound.
What is interesting about this account, is that the plan it is to make no investment at all, other than the initial Spellbook. That means, no purchasing of any game related currency such as SPS, DEC, Credits and so on. The purpose is to see how far I can take this account without spending real money beyond the initial $10.00 required for the spellbook. For purpose of full disclosure, I had initially sent it 50 DEC for renting purposes; however, this DEC did not generate any in game assets for Luckless as I sent it back to my main account, as I changed my mind and decided that rather then playing like a normal account, this experiment would be a more fun experience. On that basis, there is to be no delegating cards to this account either. Renting cards is an option, but only with assets earned in game. Due to needing either credits or DEC to be able to rent cards, it will take a while to reach a point where renting is feasible, as I will be fully dependent on daily chest and end of season rewards to get me there. Also, it is important to note that when I acquire the resource to purchase cards, I will be doing so though Monster Market as this will allow me to generate some DEC when doing so.
When it comes to payouts from PeakD, I plan on taking the payouts in 100% HP for now to build some up hive power on this account, and later switching to the 50% HBD and 50% HP split. Once this change is made, my main account, Luckbound, will become a beneficiary of it, and receive 100% of the earnings. I will make a note in a future post when this happens.
Although, I can not be sure exactly what rewards I received each day, it is possible to establish the total rewards overall. So far, luckless has received 7 legendary potions, 2 alchemy potions, and 64 credits. I do know, however, that 5 of those credits came from todays daily quest award.
Having that many credits allowed me to do something exciting. I could buy my first card on this account. I was able to purchase a level 1 Gargoya Lion for $0.034, and because I made this purchase though Monster Market, I was able to get 0.266 DEC back as well. With this purchase, Luckless is now sitting at a total of 5 CP. That CP and little amount of DEC will also start to generate a small amount of SPS. It won't be much, but it will be more than what I had before. I've attached an image of the card below.

Hopefully I can get some luck tomorrow. Ten more credits and I should have no trouble buying a new card. There is also a possibility of getting a card from my daily reward, which although not likely, would be nice.
