Don't Surprise Because This Is Already Announced In The Roadmap
Good morning everyone there are lots of posts regarding SPS Stake will Replace (CP) and I am not going to give the information regarding how it is going to work because you already know about that. I am active on splinterlands discord and there are lots of users sharing their points of view regarding this update. The thing that made me create this post is the shocking comments and most people saying that splinterlands team now wants to increase the price of SPS for the whales who hold a big amount of SPS which is why they are recommending everyone to stake the SPS.
But the thing is everything is going on as planned by splinterlands team. They are just following the roadmap. I am not saying they are bringing things as they promised and there is up and down in time. For example, if they promised new card sets on 1st May then they can be late but the good thing is they try to follow the dates and bring the things on time for the users.
I Was Waiting For This Update
I am not a person who blindly supports every decision of the team but I was waiting for this moment and I am not surprised at all for this update. But the surprising thing is the users' reaction. Many users behave like they don't know anything. This change was much needed because it brings a new use case to SPS which is needed because SPS is the governance token.
Although I agree that the SPS staking requirement is high for some users since this is a decentralized platform, you can make your opinion for sure. You have to see the other side of the coin. Here are two things that you need to check.
- Price of sps: SPS is an undervalued token and the current price of sps is 0.023 which is almost the bottom of the sps. Since the price is low so it is not difficult for you to accumulate more sps tokens because SPS was traded at $1 and now check the difference and the discount. For those who wanted to accumulate more sps, this is the right time for them and it will also help you to increase your CP in terms of sps staking as per the new change. So you can choose this option. Though this is not financial advice so take a decision as per your own research.
- SPS delegation: The full update is not released yet and I am sure that Splinterlands team will come up with the solution and maybe they will introduce sps renting. If this is going to happen then the user who doesn't want to buy the sps and wants to play in higher leagues can go for it.
This Thing Happened Before
When DEC stopped in the battle rewards users said that they want to reduce the supply because whales are holding lots of DEC tokens and that is why they stopped DEC in ranked battle rewards. But this was planned when sps has launched. They were promised that after the airdrop will end, sps will be available in the battle rewards. And now you are getting sps in battle rewards but it is not permanent.
Do you know? sps will not be available in the reward and only license holders will earn the sps tokens so that means you have limited time to accumulate the sps. That is why I said that sps is undervalued now.
It will Affect The Price Of Cards?
I think yes but we have to wait for the proper detailed announcement. Whenever a new change comes, many people speak against it but later they get used to it. I am expecting the same scenario this time and without a proper update, we can't say any negative about it. Although the sps stake requirement is higher for many users and I hope that team will look into it.
Although you need cards for the deck strength and maybe they will bring new use cases for cards so that the price of cards will be maintained. I can't say about it but the only thing I know is to wait for it and I am sure that it will be something beneficial for everyone and everyone will like this new change because they know how to balance things.
Yes, asset prices have gone down and the bear market is most responsible here. You can see many games are dead due to the bear market. All the big games that were launched after Splinterlands are now dead. Splinterlands is still running and developing things. Things will improve as the market goes up. Share your opinions below.
