Forest Splinter Magic Combo - Share your Battle Weekly Challenge!

Let's talk about one of my current favourite strategies on the game: the Forest Magic Combo!

Mycelic Morphoids are in a constant state of growth and development. As part of Queen Mycelia's brood, Morphoids work to spread the growing blight on Praetoria. Infected themselves by the poison, they take root near streams and rivers, contaminating it with the blight. In turn, the waters feed them, and a second Morphoid sprouts from the original. Together, the two travel as one until they split and continue the process.

At Level 3, Mycelic Morphoid receives the powerful Thorns ability, one of my favourite abilities in the game! Thorns is a great counter to Melee Monsters, as each received attack gives 2 damage back to the attacker.

Oh boy, here we go! I'm very excited to write about the Forest Splinter, as it's currently my favourite, most played Splinter due the Summoner Obsidian.

Simply put: I just love the Forest Magic Combo. Obsidian buffs all your Magic Monsters with +1 Magic Damage, and this is EXTREMELY powerful. Magic Damage isn't defended by Armour and goes directly to the Health of the enemies; it also bypasses other game mechanics like Speed/Evasion and Flying.

In other words: Magic Damage is just too strong as it doesn't interact with the majority of the mechanics of the game, and just deals damage to the enemy Health. Magic Damage allows you to quickly dispatch your opponent's monsters, guaranteeing you a win.

Obviously, you can't just throw lots of Magic Monsters on the match and think that they'll win a game for you: they're usually very fragile (with low Health and low Speed) and can be easily killed. So you have to play some Monsters in order to protect them while they're killing the enemy for you.

And that's where you can see the main strenght of the Mycelic Morphoid: he's a very cheap Monster that's able to protect your Magic Monsters for the cost of just 1 Mana. He even has 2 Health, allowing him to stay alive after receiving some weak 1-Damage attacks.

Well, of course you can't rely just on the Mycelic Morphoid to protect your team! That's why you should play him together with other stronger, more Mana-expensive tanks, as they'll be the ones absorbing the majority of the incoming damage. But, costing only 1 Mana, the Morphoid is just ideal to fit in the midle of your team and use that odd extra Mana that's left around!

Let's analyze my team!

• My Summoner is the allmighty Obsidian, the currently most popular Forest Summoner that gives +1 Magic Damage to all your own Monsters. the more Magic Monsters you play, the most value you extract from her buff!

• The frontline tank is the Unicorn Mustang. As I love playing Magic Monsters, I'm always scared that my opponent will also play Magic Monsters, so that's why the Unicorn is my favourite Forest Tank nowadays. Not only he has 10 Health, but he also has the Void ability, halving all the incoming Magic Damage. He's currently the best Anti-Magic tank, ditto.

• My 2nd Monster is the Mycelic Morphoid. I've played him as a secondary tank: if my Unicorn Mustang ended up dying during the match, I would still have the Mycelic to tank some damage until my Magic Monsters got attacked.

• My 3rd Monster is the Furious Chicken. There's nothing to talk about her besides that she's a FREE Win Rate Increases! Being a 0-Mana Monster, there's no reason to NOT play her in every match.

• My 4th Monster is the Mushroom Seer. Am I paranoid of Magic Monsters? Maybe! But better be safe than sorry: not only I always use the Unicorn Mustang as my tank, I also like to play the Mushroom Seer in all my matches due his Silence ability, debuffing all enemy Magic Monsters with -1 Magic Damage. I'm almost immune against Magic Damage!

• My 5th and last Monster is the Mycelic Slipspawn, the older, much stronger brother of the Mycelic Morphoid 😝. The Mycelic Slipspawn is one of the most powerful Magic Monsters in the game, with huge Health and the Taunt ability, attracting all the enemy attacks to him. He's great to counter Monsters with abilities that allow them to bypass your own tank, like Snipe, Sneak and Opportunity.

Good News, Everyone! The battle was a Success!

The match was a landslide!

While all the enemy Monsters, like the Sniping Narwhal and the Deeplurker, kept attacking my Mycelic Slipspawn due his Taunt ability, my own team was able to sweep throught the enemy frontline, killing Serpent of Eld, the Hardy Stonefish and the Scavo Hireling before the 2nd Round.

After that, the enemy just lacked the raw firepower to kill my own tank, while the rest of my opponent's team easily died to the 3 Magic Damage per round done by the Mushroom Seer alone.
