Splinterlands New Player Guide #01 - Summoner's Spellbook Best Starter Cards

Hello everyone!

Splinterlands Logo.png

If you just bought your 10$ Summoner's Spellbook and is looking for a solid strategy to win your first Ranked matches, look no further! In this guide, you'll learn about a simple combo that will guarantee you a fair number of wins as a newbie player.

The best starter cards you'll have to grind your way through the Bronze League is using the Summoner Alric Stormbringer!

Alric Stormbringer.png

This Gandalf-looking fellow gives +1 Magic attack to all your Magic monsters. And you already have four different magic monsters in the starter cards that you receive by purchasing the Summoner's Spellbook: the Elven Mystic, the Enchanted Pixie, the Ice Pixie, and the Medusa.

Your first monster is your frontline and, thus, should be a tank that can soak some damage. As Alric Stormbringer, you have some good tank alternatives, like the Peaceful Giant or the Frozen Soldier. After your tank, put all your 4 magic creatures, and you'll end up winning lots of games in easy mode.

Obviously this strategy isn't foolproof and can be countered with the correct strategy. But, as a new player, it's one of the most reliable ways to win games without having to buy or rent any other card beside the ones you got buying the Spellbook.

Thanks for reading my Splinterlands Newbie Guide, and until next time!

Hello, @luizeba! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive - congratulations and welcome! It would also be awesome if you could do an introduction post, so our community can get to know you better. For an example of what an intro post is like, you can check out this one by my friend & curation team member -

Keeping Up With the Buzz - My Introduction to the Hive Community.

Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities . I think you'll find these two particularly interesting to start off with -

Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.

Since you're new, you may run into an RC (Resource Credits) error when trying to comment/post because you don't yet have enough Hive in your account yet. For assistance with a temporary delegation to get you started, be sure to check out the Gift Giver site.

For now, @lovesniper will follow your account and we are looking forward to seeing your intro post. Also, please mention (also known as tagging) @traciyork & @lovesniper in your intro post in order for us to be notified, so we can consider your post for OCD curation. Lastly, feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server if you have any questions!
