How Renting to Gold Can Be Cheaper Than Silver

Hello everyone! Luke here...

If you watch my content, you know that I focus a lot on renting in Splinterlands. I've been experimenting with the PeakMonsters auto bid CP feature for over a month now and have been finding some success but in ways I didn't originally think I would. (If you are unfamiliar with this feature, you can watch my tutorial here

As a new player for the longest time I would only rent to silver 3 as I only needed about 10k power with the 5k power I already ownded. When PeakMonsters put out their autobid system though, I noticed the prices for rentals really went up when needing power to rent to silver 3, but that prices for power over 50K+ or 100K+, were still somewhat cheap because there was less demand at that level. You can see that in the two comparison images here taken December 18th

For the last few weeks, I've been putting bids for 50k power minimum and 100k power maxium with 500 CP/DEC or even 791 CP/DEC (card power per DEC spent). These types of bids rarely fill when asking for 15k power but often fill at higher card power asks.

Now this still may seem expensive to rent but remember that my 791 CP/DEC bid is the worst deal I could get. 75k power at 791 CP/DEC would be about 95 dec a day in rentals. Instead, my jaw dropped as I recieved 75k power card for 17.3 DEC a day, a crazy 4321.272 CP/DEC card.

Now of course this was crazy lucky, and I've never seen a deal so good. However, remember that I've been making bids like these on my main and alt accounts for weeks. What I do is cancel deals when it isn't a deal I hoped for, and then simply try again. In this case, I waited a couple days for the auto bid to fill, and it was probably my 10th request or so on this account for 50K+ power. Now that I've found this amazing deal though, I am going to continue to rent it for as long as I can! Many people are spending 30 to 70 DEC a day to rent 15k power to silver 3, and now I am going to be renting to silver 1 alone with this card for a crazy low price of 17.3 DEC a day. With my ownded power plus a couple other rentals, I am now going to be playing in Gold 3 once I climb the ratings, for about 26 DEC a day.

Of course rentals can be canceled but what I've noticed is that when you find a really good deal through the auto bid system, it doesn't get canceled as often. I think this is because people who are giving away a crazy deal don't realize the value, probably aren't studying the markets, and are simply trying to gain some passive income while they focus on other projects or games. In the same photo above you can see I have a 10k power Onyx for 9.5 DEC a day which is also a really good deal. I've held this rental now for over a month and it has not been canceled on me. On my alt account I also have been renting a gold kitty with 50k power for only 100 DEC/Day. Also a deal that is rented to me for 70 dec a day less than it should be, and it has not been canceled on me for over 2 weeks now.

It may take a while to find the deals you want using the peakmonsters auto bid system but once you do, you can see here that it can be pretty game changing for your splinterlands account. As long as you don't get canceled on with your rental, you can lock these deals up and renew them for as long as you want! If you're patient enough like me, it will end up being cheaper to rent to gold than to silver making your DEC rewards and daily chests increase!

P.S. If you don't have a strong enough deck to compete in silver 1 or gold 3, you may not want to implement this strategy unless you also rent some other cards to strengthen your deck. You can watch my video and use the maximizing dec profit rental tool to monitor if it's worth going to gold or to stay in silver.

I don't rent since I'm using my sps/dec to build my deck slowly. but up-vote for this!

Smart! It's better to not rent if you don't have to ;)
