The Crypto-Gaming Guild was founded as a friendly and welcoming place for players of congregate, meet, and help each other in these games we love. At the time I was absolutely shocked that no such group had yet been created and how fast it’s grow in these early months show that there is a need for more communities like this in the Play2Earn space. Since then I've been writing multiple articles a week on the games I love to play, tracking all my metrics, and hosting occasional small events while the Guild grew.

As weeks passed and more people joined, some would come to ask how to get more involved with this amazing scene and, if possible, how they might be able to help the guild. I'd often recommend a new game or two and say something like "the ability to write about these games on platforms like PeakD is something that makes this scene really special, check it out!". While I think all of that is true I'm also aware that it can be difficult to get started and envisioned a step by step guide being helpful here.

Gamification is something I think a lot about. This is mostly because sometimes I can’t take anything other than games all that seriously that all that long. I'm the kind of person who constantly works from lists, gives myself little rewards to get larger tasks done, and tries to find the fun in whatever I'm doing. I've tried to bring this energy to my writing on PeakD because it's the type of tone where I find myself learning the most.

Today all of this comes together and I'm going to lay out something that's been brewing in my mind for months: the first cryptogaming guild metaclass and the Path of the Scribe.

What is a METACLASS?

A metaclass is just a gamified way to say 'what you do in the guild’. Right now the only metaclass we have open is Scribe but in time we will be releasing more and more metaclasses each functioning as a way to focus your goals and track your growth and compete with other guild members on our quest path!

In time I would love to see things like experience points, leveling up, and the metrics on all of this tracked on discord. We are moving quickly, if you have skills in this area reach out.

FIRST QUEST: Getting Started

Part 1: Create a Hive account

First you are going to need a HIVE account as HIVE is what powers pretty much all these amazing projects. Your HIVE account is going to be your login for a variety of projects andm thankfully, you can still get one 100% free!

At some point in this process you are going to be met with this screen:

Download your Keys! Save them, store them well, dont show anyone, This is really really important.

HIVE Keychain is a browser extension that, while not required to use HIVE, makes everything "Just work"(TM). In the rare cases when I hear that a member of the community is having any issues with HIVE I always ask if they are using Keychain and I cat tell you how many times they setting it up helped iron out their issue.

Let's skip all that and. just get it installed right away.

Once Keychain is installed you'll have one last step here.

Import Your Keys!

Part 2: Create your PeakD profile

The primary place we are going to be writing as a group is PeakD so, now that our Hive account is all set up lets go check that out!

Go to PeakD

Set name, about, location, website.

If you want people to listen to what you have to say first you are going to need to meet them hal;f way by making your profile look like someone who might be worth listening to. A profile with no information does not lend that sense of credibility. Fill out your profile now!

Create a background and icon.

Use Photopia for help creating and decorating the 512x512 and 1920x240x sized images needed.

Part 3: Join some PeakD communities

Pretty self explanatory, you don't really need me to explain this one do you? Join all these that seem helpful for you!

Part 4: Read, vote, comment, follow, and reblog.

To see how the platforms is used you are going to want to use the platform! This is honestly the next generation of social media, take some time to look around and learn to ropes! This might seem self explanatory but it's one of the steps I see people skip and ed up getting tripped up by.

Part 5: Write a blog post

Write a post to your blog.

Start by clicking that little pencil on the top right of your screen.

Title, summary, tags, advanced.

All of this is fairly self explanatory. The topic tags are really important. Try and make sure you use as many as feel right to discribe your blog post. This will help people stumble upon your content which is a bit of a uphill climb at first!

Part 6: Write your first Article

Write the post to The CryptoGaming Guild!

You are a practicing Scribe after all!

Also add to blog. This helps followers help find other content by you thay might enjoy ad is a great way to grow!

Crossposting out.

Next you are going to want to see how to share your article with the world beyond the guild while still having it posted in the Guilds community. First you'll want to click the three dots at the end of the post icon bar and select "Crosspost in..."

From here just select the communities you follow that feel appropriate to crosspost in. This is how you spread your articles and find a larger reach ad is key to growth on PeakD. However, you also don't want to spam your posts and run out of transactions and lost the ability to post or comment for a few hours. This is a deep topic, you'll figure this out in time.

Part 7: The Importance of Financial Fluidity

One of the keys of understanding PeakD is going to be understanding the different tokens in the HIVE system. Let's click on wallet under your profile.

Understanding HIVE / HP / HBD is key to your growth in this space. This screenshot should be more than enough to get you started out. Your posts, unless set otherwise, will earn you HP and HBD, this is a good thing!

EXPECTATIONS CHECK! Is PeakD going to make you a million dollars right away? NO! This is not a GET RICH QUICK GUIDE! You will get from there platforms what you invest in them and, if you use them over time, you will have no problem earning income. Set your goal and chase it but understand this is a path not a destination!

A key way to upgrade your HIVE useage is to familiarize yourself with Hive Engine

Hive engine is the perfect wallet and it's got some really amazing trading tools for a variety of assets in this ecosystem. Tinker around here and you'll learn a ton! This is where you can take your HIVE earnings and enter other projects!

Projects like Rising Star / Splinterlands!!

HIVE has some of the coolest games in the Play2Earn scene. I've said so much here in all my other articles. This is the stuff we focus on! Get involved!

Finally, at some point you are going to want to tur this crypto into real spending money. For that I need to suggest using CoinBase. Not only is CoinBase one of the largest players in the space but the waitlist for their CoinBase Card seems to be clearing up.

Make a CoinBase account, sign up for that cards waitlist, and complete any and all of the classes offered for the free crypto they pay. You'll likely fid yourself $30 richer within just a few minutes.
