State of the Metagame: Where Play2Earn Gaming got me in 9 Months

(Edited)

It's been a busy year for me. When 2021 was a fresh new thing I had just started experimenting with cryptogaming and my wife and I were readying from a cross-country move. Now, short months later, I've founded The CryptoGaming Guild, have penned hundreds of articles on Play2Earn, am settling into a beautiful new home, and my Splinterlands account value makes me feel ... what, ecstatic? Sometimes the best thing to go with change is more change so today I'm announcing a career change. As of next month I'll be working with a major crypto exchange and focusing on crypto full time. Goodbye advertising tech and hello blockchain. It's been a long time since blockchain tech was my fulltime job and I'm damn proud it be retuning to the industry that's currently changing the world.

Let's get back to that Splinterlands account though...

The story here is one of steady growth. When I first bought into Splinterlands in early 2021 I did so by buying large portions of 3 folks collections who were quitting the game for 85% market value. I mostly targeted goldfoil stapes along with a few high value singles in the Summoner slots. I love Splinterlands and have been playing it daily since I picked it up. My collections value grew uncontrollably until it had moved from $2 to $43k. From there it shrank back to about $29 before growing again surpassing my collections previous ATH in the past weeks. In this time I've earned thousands of dollars in DEC, SPS, and Vouchers.

Here is a look behind the scenes.

Other investments not shown here include a few plots of (in-game) LAND, dozens of skins I bought for 50% off before the coming market update, and a few other things I'm not yet at liberty to speak about.

Splinterlands is a goddamn bonanza so how hard do you think I'm going on Chaos Legion Packs? I'll be buying as many as possible and, from the looks of it, so will everyone else.

Let's go back to the theme of 'steady growth' and talk about Rising Star.

This info show the results of one of the few times I ever sold Splinterlands assets to fund another project. What could possible be worth more than Splinterlands cards? This:

By holding this card and 1,000,000 Starbits you unlock the ability to do a single daily mission in Rising Star and earn a flat 10,000 Starbits in 30 minutes. This is the kind of thing that empires are built on and you don't even need to buy it, you just need wealth to have access to it. @Jux is a goddamn genius y'all and Rising Star is one of the coolest industry sims I've ever seems. I've used this steady income to drive steady growth in my card count, level, boosts, and daily income. I was able to grab a Scary Mary (who I'm now playing as) and a handful of the seasonal instruments.

The real story here is Record Staking though.

With over 1,000,000 Starbits staked to keep my empire growing and now over 500,000 Starbits staked in the extremely lucrative NFT record industry I've officially become one of those whales I've heard so much about and all through steady growth.

Speaking of 'steady growth' ... Neon District.

image.png

Neon District launches in Q4 of this year and, frankly, no one had any idea what to expect. The hype alone has some of the higher weapons selling on OpenSea for large portions of ETH. Some folks are calling this game dead because it's integrating a new chain which is frankly donkey-brained. Neon District is still a Sleeping giant so I've been growing my armory by delivering those sweet fresh hot pizza. Someday I'll be a cyberpunk hero though, I swear!

I feel like I shout atleast mention RollerCoin and how hype I am at the introduction of BNB but maybe that should be a full article. What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

I could go on and on but ... why? It's a full-gone conclusion to anyone looking, cryptogaming is changing the world and the lives of those involved in it. If you are involved and hustling please have faith and keep up the good fight. It get's better, trust me.

Are you looking for a part two here with more information about more games? If so please let me know in the comments.

Are you looking to hang out with other Crypto-Gamers? Join us over at the The Crypto-Gaming Guild discord. We are looking for game captains and folks who can help organize. If you are interested, please step up!

The games we are currently focusing on are:
Rising Star
Splinterlands

Neon District
