When I saw the topic of this week's Great Splinterlands Social Media Challenge Contest, my heart sank, as I read, briefly, the points that should be covered in this post, I really hope that there are some exceptions, because I have the feeling that even if I narrow down my argument it will be rather broad and articulated, so with a good length I will only be able to deal with a few points of this topic, but let's move on, and start immediately with the 1 ° question...

Discovery of Splinterlands

Several years have passed since I entered Splinterlands, I don't want to burn myself by discussing the 2nd question mark in question, immediately noting when I actually entered this gaming platform, let's say straight away that I became aware of Splinterlands through a great virtual friend, one of those people who I am proud to consider as a friend, responds to the nickname of @libertycrypto27, who in the autumn of 2019 started talking to me on Discord about a new game, on the Hive platform, you had to buy a basic package, costing 10 dollars, and then you could start playing, on love at first sight, I had never had an experience like that, online I had I've played other types of games, Splinterlands told me, if I'm not mistaken, that it resembles Magic (which I've also never played), the dynamics, the structure, the combats of this platform immediately entered the daily routine of my life...

Duration of Participation

I quickly mentioned in the previous point, I joined in October 2019, so I have been present on Splinterlands for just over 4 years, I believe, for everything I have experienced in recent years, that I can consider myself in all respects as a veteran of this game, having played a lot, putting in a lot of effort, and obtaining results that I can define as largely satisfactory, indeed, completely satisfactory, even if life often plays tricks on me, as we will see in the discussion of the next points of this Contests...

Time Spent in Splinterlands

Here I have to make some distinctions between what my participation in Splinterlands was before a certain event, and what happens from a certain date onwards, but let's proceed step by step...

Right from the start I started playing a lot on Splinterlands, at the beginning there were no limitations like Energy Points or similar things, there was a percentage, something I don't remember well, but going below a margin security was very difficult, I had very intense gaming sessions, thanks to the fact that after a few months the covid-19 pandemic arrived, with all the lock-downs and traffic bans to which we were subjected, attaching myself to a gaming platform like Splinterlands, which was conquering large spaces of my days, game after game, victory after victory, but also defeat, battles for the acquisition of ever higher League levels, as well as progressively increasing the level of all my Summoners of the various Elements, all reached the top, at the 8th and final level (being Rare, apart from the Dragon Summoner I owned at the time, Delwin Dragonscale, which being of the Common genre reached the 10th level), I generated such a volume of game to get to accumulate these quantities...

So much nostalgia, of the good old days, which will never return, during this post I will make constant references to different moments in time, let's say that in the screenshot you see above there are some disarming data, briefly on the right is highlighted what I was, on the left what I am, before, in the period October 2019-September 2021, I played over 50k games, with such exciting results that I even reached the Champion League I, reaching 115th position in one season of play absolute among all Splinterlands players, and remaining in the Champion Leagues for a long time, until one damn day, September 6, 2021, when I was subjected to an attack by bastard hackers, who stole all my Splinterlands Playing Cards, throwing myself into absolute desperation, everything I had built in the previous 2 years, all the intense gaming sessions, with game after game, hours and hours of gaming, checking statistics, purchasing and upgrading the many Cards and Monsters that considered fundamental (and I was right) for the improvement and achievement of the highest Leagues, everything was nullified, everything was annihilated, everything was destroyed, and I found myself on the ground, beaten but not completely knocked down, because after a moment, but just a moment , of profound confusion and anguish, I got up again, with the intention of returning to what I was before, of being a high-level player again, I tried, starting to play match after match again, taking myself back to the Diamond Leagues, dreaming of the Champion Leagues again , but I hadn't taken into account the new operating dynamics, and other changes introduced from time to time, probably something went wrong, because I sank into the lowest Leagues, right now I'm in the Bronze Leagues, towards the end of the Season game I'm arriving at the Silver Leagues, but let's go back to talking about the time I currently dedicate to Splinterlands, now there are Energy Points, you can't do more than a certain amount of battles per day, so I play less, also thanks to the fact that the real life presses on virtual life, Splinterlands is always a sweet thought in my mind, which accompanies the hours of my day, I hardly give up my daily amount of battles...

Accomplishments

In the year 2020 I built a truly remarkable Deck of Cards, I constantly invested the amounts I earned with my posts on Hive converting them into Splinterlands playing cards, which at the time cost little, compared to the peaks they reached the following year , 2021, when I witnessed constant increases in their prices, but I had entered at the right time, for once, I had made the most of the initial boost that this game had ensured, the daily and end-of-Season rewards were truly exciting, I remember perfectly that every now and then I obtained Playing Cards worth several tens of dollars, sometimes even hundreds of dollars, which made participation in this game extremely attractive and incentivizing, so skyrocketing rewards, increasingly higher rankings, everything I was going for the best, there was also the start of the airdrop of SPS tokens, which took place on 27 July 2021, then that tragic event, the theft of everything I had, the help, the great contribution that my companions from the Edsf Guild, in various ways, they gave me, my desire and awareness to try to go back to what I was before, or at least a faded photocopy, and the realization, a few months after that September 6, 2021, that I wouldn't have made it , that what I had built in the previous years would not have been even remotely possible to recreate, but all this, all this destruction and disaster does not prevent me from attaching myself again to this gaming platform, with new ideals, new horizons, and new expectations, to the pleasure of playing and little more, because I really like playing on Splinterlands, I earn much less, nothing compared to some time ago, but it doesn't matter, unfortunately what happened happened, I will try to climb back up, perhaps up to the Gold Leagues , or maybe Diamante, will I make it?
I won't make it? I will certainly try, always, however, come what may, I accept everything, without prejudice, without disappointment, because my new mental attitude is precisely this, to take what comes with philosophy, without making an illness of it, because I have tried to increase my power, until a few months ago, but the results were disappointing, so that's it, come what may, that's fine...

Quando ho visto l'argomento del Grande Contest di Splinterlands Social Media Challenge di questa settimana, mi è venuto un mezzo tuffo al cuore, in quanto ho letto, sommariamente, i punti che si dovrebbero trattare in questo post, spero tanto che ci siano delle deroghe, perché ho la sensazione che seppur stringendo la mia argomentazione sarà piuttosto ampia e articolata, per cui con una buona lunghezza riuscirò a trattare solamente qualche punto di questa tematica, ma andiamo avanti, e partiamo subito con il 1° quesito...

Discovery of Splinterlands

Sono passati diversi anni, da quando sono entrato su Splinterlands, non mi voglio bruciare la trattazione del 2° punto di domanda in questione, rilevando subito quando sono effettivamente entrato su questa piattaforma di gioco, diciamo subito che sono venuto a conoscenza di Splinterlands tramite un grande amico virtuale, una di quelle persone che sono fiero di porter considerare come amico, risponde al nick-name di @libertycrypto27, il quale nell'autunno dell'anno 2019 iniziò a parlarmi su Discord di un
nuovo gioco, su piattaforma Hive, c'era da acquistare un pacchetto base, del costo di 10 dollari, e poi si poteva iniziare a giocare, su amore a prima vista, non avevo mai fatto un'esperienza del genere, on-line avevo fatto altre tipologie di giochi, Splinterlands mi hanno detto, se non vado errato, che assomiglia al Magic (al quale ugualmente non ho mai giocato), le dinamiche, la struttura, i combattimenti di questa piattaforma entrarono immediatamente nella quotidianità della mia vita...

Duration of Partecipation

Ho accennato velocemente nel punto precedente, sono entrato nel mese di ottobre del 2019, quindi sono poco più di 4 anni che sono presente su Splinterlands, mi ritengo, per tutto quello che ho vissuto in questi anni, di potermi considerare a tutti gli effetti come un veterano di questo gioco, avendo giocato veramente tanto, impegnandomi molto a fondo, e ottenendo risultati che posso definire come ampiamente soddisfacenti, anzi, completamente soddisfacenti, anche se la vita gioca spesso dei brutti scherzi, come vedremo nella trattazione dei prossimi punti di questo Contest...

Time Spent in Splinterlands

Qui devo fare delle distinzioni, tra quello che fu la mia partecipazione a Splinterlands prima di un certo fatto, e quello che avviene da una certa data in poi, ma procediamo per gradi...

Sin da subito iniziai a giocare tantissimo su Splinterlands, all'inizio non c'erano delle limitazioni come Punti Energia o cose similari, c'era una percentuale, di un qualcosa che non ricordo bene, ma scendere al di sotto di un margine di sicurezza era molto difficile, facevo delle sessioni molto intense di gioco, complice il fatto che dopo pochi mesi arrivò la pandemia da covid-19, con tutti i lock-down e i divieti alla circolazione alla quale fummo sottoposti, attaccarsi a una piattaforma di gioco come Splinterlands, che andava conquistandosi larghi spazi temporali delle mie giornate, partite su partite, vittorie su vittorie, ma anche sconfitte, lotte per l'acquisizione di livelli di Leghe sempre superiori, oltre ad incrementare progressivamente il livello di tutti i miei Evocatori dei vari Elementi, tutti arrivarono al top, all'8° e ultimo livello (essendo Rari, a parte l'Evocatore Drago che possedevo allora, Delwin Dragonscale, che essendo di genere Comune raggiunse il 10° livello), generai un tale volume di gioco da arrivare ad accumulare questi quantitativi...

Quanta nostalgia, dei bei tempi andati, che non ritorneranno più, farò dei continui rimandi, durante questo post, a momenti temporali diversi, diciamo che nello screenshot che vedete qua sopra ci sono dei dati disarmanti, sinteticamente a destra è evidenziato quello che ero, a sinistra quello che sono, prima, nel periodo ottobre 2019-settembre 2021, ho giocato oltre 50k di partite, con esiti talmente esaltanti da farmi raggiungere addirittura la Lega Campione I, giungendo in una Stagione di gioco a raccogliere la 115° posizione assoluta tra tutti i giocatori di Splinterlands, e rimanendo a lungo nelle Leghe Campione, fino a un maledetto giorno, il 6 settembre 2021, quando fui soggetto a un attacco da parte di bastardi hackers, che mi rubarono tutte le Carte da gioco di Splinterlands, gettandomi nella disperazione più assoluta, tutto quello che avevo costruito, nei 2 anni precedenti, tutte le intense sessioni di gioco, con partite su partite, ore e ore di gioco, di controllo di statistiche, di acquisti e potenziamenti di tante Carte e Mostri che consideravo fondamentali (e avevo ragione) per il miglioramento e raggiungimento delle Leghe più elevate, tutto venne vanificato, tutto venne annientato, tutto venne distrutto, e mi ritrovai a terra, battuto ma non abbattuto completamente, perché dopo un attimo, ma giusto un attimo, di smarrimento e di angoscia profondissimi, mi rialzai, con l'intento di ritornare quello di prima, di essere nuovamente un giocatore di alto livello, ci provai, ricomciando a giocare partite su partite, riportandomi sulle Leghe Diamante, sognando nuovamente le Leghe Campione, ma non avevo fatto i conti con nuove dinamiche di funzionamento, e altre modifiche introdotte di volta in volta, probabilmente qualcosa è andato storto, perché sono sprofondato nelle Leghe più basse, ora come ora sono nelle Leghe Bronzo, verso la fine della Stagione di gioco approdo alle Leghe Argento, ma ritorniamo a parlare del tempo che dedico attualmente a Splinterlands, adesso ci sono i Punti Energia, più di un certo quantitativo di battaglie al giorno non si possono fare, per cui gioco meno, complice anche il fatto che la vita reale preme sulla vita virtuale, Splinterlands è sempre un dolce pensiero nella mia mente, che accompagna le ore della mia giornata, difficilmente rinuncio al mio quantitativo quotidiano di battaglie...

Accomplishments

Nell'anno 2020 ho costruito un Deck di Carte davvero notevole, investivo costantemente le cifre che guadagnavo con i miei post su Hive convertendole in Carte da gioco di Splinterlands, che all'epoca costavano poco, in rapporto ai picchi che toccarono l'anno successivo, il 2021, quando assistetti a incrementi costanti delle loro quotazioni, ma io ero entrato nel momento giusto, una volta tanto, avevo sfruttato al meglio la spinta iniziale che questo gioco aveva assicurato, le rewards giornaliere e di fine Stagione erano davvero esaltanti, ricordo perfettamente che ogni tanto ottenevo delle Carte da gioco del valore di diverse decine di dollari, alcune volte anche centinaia di dollari, che rendevano estremamente accattivante e incentivante la partecipazione a questo gioco, per cui rewards alle stelle, classifiche sempre più alte, tutto andavo per il meglio, ci fu pure la partenza dell'airdrop dei token SPS, avvenuta il 27 luglio 2021, poi quel tragico fatto, il furto, di tutto quello che avevo, l'aiuto, il grande contributo che i miei compagni di Gilda Edsf, in vario modo, mi diedero, la mia voglia e consapevolezza di tentare di ritornare quello di prima, o almeno una fotocopia sbiadita, e il rendersi conto, a distanza di pochi mesi successivamente a quel 6 settembre 2021, che non ce l'avrei fatta, che quello che avevo costruito negli anni precedenti non sarebbe neanche lontanamente stato possibile ricreare, ma tutto questo, tutta questa distruzione e disastro non mi impediscono di attaccarmi nuovamente a questa piattaforma di gioco, con nuovi ideali, nuovi orizzonti, e nuove aspettative, per il gusto di giocare e poco più, perché a me giocare su Splinterlands piace davvero, guadagno molto meno, un nulla rispetto a diverso tempo fa, ma poco importa, purtroppo è successo quello che è successo, tenterò di risalire, magari fino alle Leghe Oro, o forse Diamante, ce la farò? Non ce la farò? Di certo ci proverò, sempre, comunque, venga quello che venga, accetto tutto quanto, senza pregiudizi, senza delusioni, perché il mio nuovo atteggiamento mentale è proprio questo, prendere quello che viene con filosofia, senza farsene una malattia, perché ho tentato di aumentare la mia potenza, fino a pochi mesi fa, ma i risultati sono stati deludenti, e allora basta, venga quello che venga, che va bene così...
